  • @TheOraclesPearls clara good luck to you... my suggestion is high protein, low carbs. NEVER eat a carb(that includes veggies/fruits) without at least 15 grams protein!!!!!

    ps, i'm almost 48 now!

  • Your weight is off , your healthy and you have a great personality, Thank for the videos.

  • @Dan58024 thank you! xxoo

You are an inspiration to me and im sure MANY others. My surgery should be in may also. The excess skin was a huge concern for me and i can only pray i look as.good as you when i reach goal. if there is a way to privately message you i have a few questions if you have the time and dont mind.

  • you have done a amazing job! KUDOS TO YOU... gurl go ahead get that skin removed PAYMENT PLAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but research, research research you PS

  • @ladyjwb i will NOT be getting plastic surgery. i do NOT believe it is worth the risks involved with infection, anesthesia, blood clots, and $....xxoo

  • you are one brave lady to post this on youtube. i admire you for it :)

  • @IamTheTiffy thanks, remember i swim frequently and MUST go out in public anyway, just NEVER in a bikini!!! lol.

  • Skin or no skin, I think you look beautiful, and great job on losing all that weight,

  • @InspectorMontelbano1 thank you.. and we ALL have skin, hugh? lol.

  • @saphre1964 Yes, we all have skin, and like yourself, I too have lost weight. I used to weigh 95kg (210lbs), but over the last 14 months I have become a gym junkie, and have modified my diet, and have lost around 20kg (45lbs), best decision I have ever made, and your videos are very inspirational. I hope your condition with your knees/legs get better and you are able to walk without pain. And once again, I think you are a very beautiful woman.

  • @InspectorMontelbano1 thanks again... and congrats on your new lifestyle commitment!

  • Not too bad. And you do have good muscle tone and good genes. You look amazing!!!

  • @theeartofseduction why thank you...

  • Does the skin eventually tighten or something?

  • Ah it seems so cruel that skin does this even though you've worked hard to lose the weight! I admire your attitude though!

  • Thank you for sharing this part of your life with us.

  • @blewknew thank you for watching it!

  • my 1st time to view. ya know my hubby was 487 before RNY and today he is 202. He lost 285 lbs and also has excess skin. he has lived with it for 9 going on 10 years. you look great and i think is very brave and caring of you to share yourself with the world here on YT. Thank you! p.s. my mother at the age of 50 and 52 had her knees replaced. 1 per year. she was also a nurse for 36 years before she retired last fall being diagnosed w/ terminal cancer. she says the knees are the best gift!

  • @bandedwendy thanks wendy. when the mobility gets worse, i'll replace.

    god bless your mom. xxoo

  • U look great congrats and goodluck on your knee surgery

  • @aamiyah123 thank you, i have a 3 year update that explains i will be waiting for knee surgery....

  • im happy for you, u look good....

  • @Honeyqueen45 thank you

  • You have such a positive energy! :)

  • @giggles196 thank you, miss giggles.

  • I do freak sometimes about the skin thing but thinking it's all part of the big journey and is only a detail eh. I was looking at my thighs yesterday and thought... they're not exactly tight now lol. It's funny how us losing weight are so concerned with skin and how bad it may (or may not) look. I bet no-one over 100lbs overweight looks too flash naked before they loose weight and will FEEL so much better afterwards. How I FEEL is far more important.

So looking forward to gettin life back

  • @sandradeeeee keep that attitude. i can remember thinking ANYONE who complained about skin was SO VAIN. it really isn't about vanity for all, sometimes the skin can really impede their lifestyle. my skin is manageable. thanks for your postive words.

  • Hi there I just think you are amazing! Love reading your posts and listening to your videos. I'm yet to decide if I will VLOG my journey or not. I'm thinking yes, it helps sooooo many people.

My surgery has been postponed from 27th (Monday) to now 19th March. The surgeon has some urgent cancer surgeries to perform so can't be complaining about that. It's mucked with my head a bit as I was getting psyched and had started the pre-op diet. I pre-op now until 1st March. eeek :)

  • @sandradeeeee hang in there, it will be worth the wait... do some journaling about your feelings during this period, it'll be priceless later.

  • I want to thank you for being brave and sharing this. I know this had to take balls to do. You look great!

  • @craig712030009 thanks, not too hard because i was in the comfort of my own bathroom, and though i do NOT wear a bikini in public, i swim frequently, so the skin shows then... people will ask what's wrong with me and it allows for me to educate and share about WLS...lol, gotta look at the positive, correct?

  • Thank you so much for sharing :) I'm on my journey I've lost 25ibs so far but honestly I need to loose bout 100 more I kno that's a lot nd I'm 18 :( so I'm hopping that I make it to my goal nd its people like u that inspire me to try harder thanks a lot

    Xoxo from Chicago :))

  • @patricia123456ilu good luck.. and excess skin won't be too bad with your age helping.... it's us 'ol ladies who have it the worst, lol. xxoo

  • You are so brave and positive!!! I have 70 lbs to lose. You helped me a great deal. Keep smiling! Good luck with knee surgeries, I know the feeling!

  • @MsDiRyan good luck with your weight loss journey... a bite at a time! :)

  • You look DAMN good for 46!!!

  • @KayDinosaur thanks!

  • how did you get the muscle, also i wonder what is your diet plan---

  • your stomach doesn't look that bad at all, considering how much weight you have lost.

  • @ididete thanks!!!! i think... lol.

  • You have so much courage!

  • @bitzbitz13 lol. courage to take control of my life, and go under the knife? follow my food plan? or get in my daughter's bikini and bare all? xxoo

  • YOU GO GIRL!

  • @tRetRe7056 thank you.

  • I am hoping to have the surgery in a month or so and watching your video inspired me so much. It shows what can happen after the op and everyone should be aware of this. Above all you come across as being a truly lovely lady. I am looking forward to being able to wear smaller and nicer clothes too! You're a star! Thank you x

  • @ratahongkong why thank you. and good luck with your surgery. get ready to ride the ride of your life!!!!! xxoo

  • @saphre1964 swimming.

  • Thanks so much for sharing!

  • @NNORMSS you are most welcome xxoo

  • Thank you for sharing this with us. Most pre-ops are curious about what "excess skin" really, REALLY means and it wasn't easy to find someone who lost such a large amount of weight willing to show us (or they'd already had plastic surgery). I'm curious, since this video was 1 year ago, has there been any improvement in the past year?

  • @Wufnu i keep telling myself "yes", but that would be denial... i feel SO much better physically overall and i'm comfortable "in my skin", lol. but, the skin technically is the same, my muscle tone helps. BUT, it is what it is. thanks for your positive rewards.

  • @saphre1964 i meant, *words... teehee

  • you look good god bless you

  • @trulytrue138 thank you

  • Omg thats wonderful the only thing i would do if i were you and had the money is i would get that acsess skin removed :) I didn't watch the entire video but did you get surgery and get all the fat removed or loose weight??

  • @splishsplashsploshXD no fat to remove. lost 240 lbs. no money for plastics, it's all good though, gottta love the skin your in.... xxoo

  • WOW!!! you look amazing, no, AMAZING!!! well done on your weight loss and youre right, the loose skin is not that bad, cant believe how fantastic you look!!

  • @mrsb0310 thanks, i feel it's actually just a tiny bit better this year. xxoo

  • Did you just say "That totally is poopy?" Does youtube allow such swearing?

It looks like you've kept most of the weight off in your newer vids. Do you notice if the skin stills sags as much or has it tightened up a bit? Congratulations of losing the wight.

  • @BrucePSMF yes, they do allow such vulgarity...lol

wt is still off, skin is better, or i just "think" it is, i'm very tone underneath. that helps. xxoo

  • Wierd stomach

  • @jamaicanvirus weird comment

  • Nicole you look great great! I'm losing weight also but the hard way eating healthy,Iv'e been on my journey since July 2011, I started off at 280 and as of now 190 and still going I'm 45 years old and I feel so much better and I do so much better at work being a housekeeper in a nursing home and it feels great to fit into a size 12 alot better then 24, so thank you for sharing your journey and God bless you too :)

  • @youngriders1966 thank you, and keep on with your hard work, it'll pay off. xxoo

  • Don't worry you look beautiful without make up my husband always tell me how beautiful I look with out make up you go girl

  • @gnzlzbutterfly thank you.

  • Wow , awesome change!! Worth it for sure 46 and your life back! Good for you .

  • @alimony812 thank you and NOW, almost 48! xxoo

  • Great video you look beautiful god bless.

  • @colajo2002 thank you so much. xxoo

  • Hi there I'm having surgery onn 27th Feb. LOVE your video and your attitude. I'm 43 and thinking along the same lines, only time will tell. I dont want saggy skin, but compared to being 159kg I think I will handle it :) Thank you, your vid has not put me off in the slightest, and also like you, I hope my pain and activities improve as well. Too many reasons not to. Skin phhhhif - more important things. You're beautiful either way. Sandra

  • @sandradeeeee amen sandra, that's the spirit... good luck with surgery. xxoo

  • you are sooo cute! omg i love your attitude! your right with clothes on noone would know a thing ! your a beatiful person. love your video so i subscribed, god bless!

  • @jmcalhoun1 thank you and thanks for the sub.

  • thanks for sharing.

  • @no2love84 you are MOST welcome

  • How much did you lose in total from the 380 starting point?

  • @Merdenoms 240 lbs. i have regained 5 lbs..my program wants me to weight 155-160, because of the excess skin, i LIKE 145-150. that's were i stay. ALWAYS. unless i'm deficient in calories/protein/fats. xxoo

  • I love your attitude!

  • @CHOCOMUM33 Merci!

  • @saphre1964 Is it possible to get reconstructive plastic surgery?

  • @zTEDDYBEARz for some yes. for me. no. it's a financially driven answer. BUT i also would be afraid of surgery, infection, revisions, etc. my skin does not define me. so acceptance is what i am doing. also. one year later? it "seems" less cumbersome. but, maybe because i'm "USED" to it? lol.

  • I am your age....and you have so totally inspired me. I haven't had surgery, but so far have lost 80 pounds. I have another 60 to 70 to go. You are courageous for posting this, but I thank you so much for doing it. I already have skin issues....and I guess you've made me feel better. You absolutely radiate. You are beautiful and inspiring..... ♥

  • @MsCarlyWeb congrats MScarly.... keep up the hard work. i honestly believe that we should love ourselves, NO matter what the outside looks like. vanity, is wasteful. and external beauty goes away with time unless we have the beauty coming from within. xxoo

  • I try to loose weight but i cant, everytine i say so, whenever any good food gets put i eat it, its a habbit, and advise on how to stop? :/

  • @egypt4noura try OA. overeaters anonymous. it's free. compulsive overeating is a disease.

    good luck.

  • You are beautiful!

  • @Brandonates thanks. xxoo

  • JUT LOOKING AT UR EYES I SEE A BEAUTIFUL PERSON INSIDE AND OUT!! U HAD INSPIRED ME :)

  • @Beautybymaggie thank you . xxoo

  • your awesome :)!!! Im 25and need to loose about 110-130 pounds. I lost 70 a while back and can u guess....i put it all back on..(did u ever notice that its cheaper even in the store.to eat garbage vs healthy not fair) tis life anyway you have the best personality. ive never met u and im proud.

  • @ashleymickey do not despair, i too lost and over 104 lbs in my early twenties, ONLY to regain after maintaining for over 5 years. SHEESH! and yes, garbage, especially fast food crap IS cheaper and takes less time, but in the long haul, eating closer to nature, wholesome, and taking time to meal prepare will REWARD you your WHOLE life. good luck.

  • Thank you. I was happy to see this video. Its really brave.. what you did...really informative. You look lovely!

  • @yanecia2 thank you. and seriously, lots of women wear bikinis, HA!. xxoo

  • I made the decision today to have the gastric sleeve and wanted to tell you that you inspire this 45 year old. Thank yo for staring your journey here. :)

  • @Regina530 why thank you. and many good thoughts for you concerning your surgery.

  • thank you

  • @MizBlueEyed your welcome.

  • I lost 139 lbs over 15 years ago - gained all of it back - back on the band wagon =) will try to NEVER fall of again - I remember the skin sagging thing - It took awhile for me to get over the fact that even though I was a size 2 I could not wear shorts- I want to be healthy so here I go again and hopefully I will keep it off FOREVER = thanks for sharing this because it is so true. any exercise tips? my knees are totally shot so low or no impact is how i must go :)

  • @pammyglo1 good luck my dear... high protein, weight lifting, even in a chair, and GET THYSELF INTO A POOL, NO IMPACT!

  • I am determined to lose weight! :)) thanx!! Ur awsome!

  • @Karmynn2012 thanks!

  • Congrads on your weight loss. Have you ever considered have surgery to remove the skin? If so, you should check into the donating your skin to the burn units. I think most insurance companies will pay for the surgery if you donate your skin. Just a thought.

  • @CatHarlem From the Shriner's Hospital website:

Q: Can skin from gastric bypass surgery be donated to children for skin grafts?

A: No, the only donor skin that can be used at the burn center is cadaver skin processed through a skin bank. Only skin from cadavers is used for skin grafts, because cadavers give the greatest amount of surface area – up to 10 sq. feet of usable skin for a burn patient.

  • @saphre1964 Well, it was worth a shot.

  • @CatHarlem yes, i've alluded to it before. ANYTHING is worth trying, hugh?

  • @CatHarlem part 2 Skin that could be taken from a person who had excessive weight loss would not generate the amount of skin or quality skin needed to treat burn patients.

this is taken from obesityhelp forum....

  • ME TOO! OUR FAMILY MOTTO IS:

WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU LEMONS, MAKE LEMONADE~

ANY IDEAS FOR CRAVING A SWEET TOOTH?

    :)

  • @maggie789matthews yes. go to the world according to eggface, she has AMAZING 5 min cakes... protein based, i use the Jillian Van Protein powder from walmart..... (the biggest loser girl?), also, powercrunch makes the BEST protein choc bars around, i buy mine at the vitamin shoppe, but all GNC's have them also.

  • You look wonderful! Have you always had your bubbly personality??!! I would think that it would be hard for you to be "weighed down" at your previous weight. Or has that been part of your journey?

Keep being healthy! I'm finally getting rid of

50-60 lbs that I put on after a full hysterectomy in '06. I'm down 15 so far, by just making better food choices, mostly not

eating late at night. My daughter said tonight that she loves being able to hug me easier now! Happy 2012! Take care of you!

    :)

  • @li3ardone congrats on YOUR life choices and loss. i was "weighed down" because of my physical health. but always have looked at things half full. xxoo

  • "I'm 46 for Heavens sake and I am wearing teenagers clothes." Ohhh what a feeling. Thanks for sharing.

  • @fever4flavor your welcome...lol. but i DO wear them discreetly... NOT like a teenager..... xxoo

  • Love that you showed us!! I'm down 120lbs and looking into plastic surgery in about 30lbs more. Not sure I'm as brave as you to YouTube in a bikini. Wish I was

  • @luvenit1979 be happy with you. congrats on your weight loss.... i would SERIOUSLY consider waiting on plastics until you have maintained quite some time. my program recommends one year, i'm thinking it should be longer, only because of "regain" issues, and we look mighty funny with skin removal scars and new regain. this is just MY OPINION. xxoo

  • U R 1 SERIOUSLY amazing and brave lady <3

  • @2wrkrbs lol. i'm wearing a bathing suit, not that big of a deal.....lol but thanks.

  • I'm going to a weight loss surgery seminar for the lap band and I'm 28 n 330 lbs and was afraid of what my skin will look like after the surgery but not anymore after seeing this... U inspired me n hope to c more of ur videos

  • @iGirlyGirl83 thank you. good luck with your seminar, keep me posted!

  • Every time I begin another weight loss journey I'm always afraid of what the extra skin will look like, and I give up, scared of the unknown... But after watching your video, you've inspired me think "it is what it is"...and that extra skin is better than extra fat!-thanks!

  • @Amandaraebear this makes me so happy to hear. please do NOT be afraid of the skin. remember, it is your number one defense against infection, illness, viruses. and it's ALL YOURS, lol. good luck with your weight loss. make it fun! xxoo

  • Well done love , you look great and are a positive example of what can be achieved with a little effort great personality to boot .....

  • @ingotoc thank you... gotta look at things half full, instead of half empty. :)

  • Thank you very much!

Yes, I will have her watch your video.

    Happy New Year!

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • @ald71 most welcome.

  • That information is very helpful. Every body reacts differently and I'm trying to get as much information to prepare my daughter for what she can potentially expect. I don't want her to be blindsided if I can help it. Again thank you so much for your speey response and kudos to you. You worked hard and it shows in your radiant smile.

    Take Good Care!

  • @lopezbernadine82 you are most welcome. if needed have her watch my video. and i am available for any questions about the surgery. xxoo

  • Thank you so much!

Sharing your experience is very helpful to so many.

My daughter may have some of these issues after her surgery.

So I'm curious if you've thought about having the excess skin removed?

Also, do you think if you lost the weight say maybe 15 or 20 years earlier that the skin may have been able to return to it's original [using that term lightly] state?

Again Thank you so much and you look absolutely beautiful and radiant!

  • @lopezbernadine82 1st, thank you. 2nd, i lost over 100 lbs in my20's and had excess skin then, NOT like now. i've "thought" about plastics. i do not believe that it will "solve" anything for me. so, i accept it. it is the consequence of excess weight. therefore, my "battle scar"... 3rd, the younger one is, and length of "time" with excess skin, amount of "toning" of muscle beneath will determine, along with genetics, the amount of sagging skin. hope that helps.

  • You are still sexy

  • @24cat11 thanks, i think...lol

  • such courage to sow us all that skin!:-) I applaud you for that!!! thanks for sharing

  • @18111969A it is what it is...lol

  • I feel so happy seeing this video. I'm glad there's others who see it the same way. I'd rather live with skin than die young.

  • @sonnyfrom310 amen.

  • You are so beautiful and I love that you did this video. I do not have a weight problem but wanted to lose some vanity pounds and stumbled upon your video. You are in my prayers with your knee surgery. I think that weight really did a number on your knees hopefully now your knees will heal and wont have so much strain on them. God Bless you girlie.

  • @97bootygirl thanks. actually the knees are NOT just from my weight. it compounded issue, but i have a family disease. oh well. i'm actually "crippled" for life, unless i get knee replacement, and THAT is scary to me, as i can walk now.

  • Wow Nicole thank you for sharing your "skin" I am just under a month out from surgrey and my main questions/thoughts of late have been focused on exactly this. I am of simply weight and age pre surgrey so your video has been really insightful. Many thanks for being so open.

  • @maybe563 dear maybe, good luck and prayers for your journey.

  • Thank you for the video, I am 24 and i am one month out of surgery when i went in, I was 400 lbs, now i am 346lbs, and i was wondering if guys would have similar problem with the extra skin as women do. I have looked around i can not find to much on guys, we seem to be a minority here lol

  • @JamesSchultz241 Sir, the fact that you are so young will be a great asset in regards to skin. but, yes, you WILL have excess skin. it's unavoidable. do not fall for any gimmicks. check our "watchmegetskinny" xxoo

  • I'm praying for u!!! :")

  • @iseeyoucomein thanks.... merry christmas!

  • Thank you sooo much for sharing your story and spending your time and exposure with me. I've been a massage therapist for 20 years and love all bodies. I have always wondered about our excess skin after a story like yours. You seem comfortable in your skin, all of it..nice gene pool, your skin is gorgeous, I am now wondering, is your body SLOWLY absorbing the excess skin..do we even do that? Is YOUR elastic healthy skin has been doing that. APPLAUSE to you, and Merry Christmas!

  • @cathyformusa thanks for your holiday wishes. my skin has changed since a year ago, BUT unfortunately the answer is NO, the skin does not got away or shrink. i think i'm just used to it. lol. xxoo

and you must be truly blessed to create healing with your massage!

  • Hey, you may have heard this already, but I have heard that if you contact the burn center in Salt Lake city, and tell them that you want to donate your skin to them, they will do the cosmetic surgery to remove it... not positive, but that's what I've heard. good luck! I'm getting ready for my surgery and I'm so happy about it

  • @tarazach thank you for the information. i still plan on "embracing" my extra skin...lol

    good luck with your surgery!

  • I stand and applaud you for your incredible weight loss as I do my wife.

Due to a spinal injury I ballooned up to 380lbs, But with the inspiration from my wife and a BodyBugg I have now lost over 65lbs in the last year.

The real sad thing is that my 10yr old daughter says she wants her "Happy" mommy back. My son is to young to understand what this change has done to the family.

My wife has changed so much that I sometimes wonder when enough change is enough change. Wonder if she does?

  • @doogiediamond again, i understand your angst... godspeed, and congrats on your weight loss also... funny, my highest recorded weight was 380 also! xxoo

  • You are amazing!!! Thank you for posting this. I am pre-op and I just wanted to see some truth. I am still going through with surgery, I just want to know what to expect.

  • @CZebelle good luck... i am very blessed to have "accepted" my skin... it is a battle scar. i will accept myself for who i am, and the effects of excess skin post extreme weight loss... good luck.

  • Just a warning to men and women.

Be careful when you loose this much weight and what effect it has on your mind set.

My wife lost about 135lbs and has taken on a new mind set of wanting a new life to match her new body.

Her new lifestyle is all about exercising and does not include me or our 2 kids. She is wanting to walk away from 16+ years of marriage.

Being healthy is an awesome thing, but be careful of where it can lead.

We all eat healthy but my wife has taken it to a whole new level.

  • @doogiediamond this is such a shame. i am very sorry for you. there is an 80% rate of divorce AFTER weight loss, IF the person was obese when you married them... if the person was a "normal" weight when initially married, then the divorce rate is MUCH lower. i highly encourage all people to receive counseling throughout and before weight loss.... good luck.

  • You are a beautiful woman and thank you so much for doing this video!!! I'm first stages obisity and fixing to do the hcg diet and you have inspired me so much!!!

  • @TaLayzia10 good luck with your weight loss. i fought my obesity for well over 13 years. loosing 100 gaining 150, loosing, gaining.... it took a toll on me. following high protein, low carb with moderate exercise, along with my new "tool" is finally my salvation!!! merry christmas!

  • @saphre1964 it shows very well!!! Merry Christmas to you too!!!

  • Just came across your vid & felt compelled to pray & speak Supernatural healing & deliverance into your life!! You are & will be a testament to the Miraculous healing power of Jesus!! GOD bless you richly!!!!

  • @LadyVMinistries thank you!!!!! i pray my witness is visible without "shoving" others away...

i try to live in the light of our mighty god... for me that IS jesus!!!!! merry christmas.

  • @LadyVMinistries thank you!!!!! i pray my witness is visible without shoving others away...

i try to live in the light of our mighty god... for me that IS jesus!!!!! merry christmas.

  • @LadyVMinistries thank you! i pray my witness is visible without shoving others away...

i try to live in the light of our mighty god... for me that IS jesus!!!!! merry christmas.

  • @LadyVMinistries thank you! i pray my witness is visible without shoving others away...

i try to live in the light of our mighty god... for me that IS jesus! merry christmas.

  • I'm not over weight and I don't know how I came across this video but you are an inspiration. i wish i could share this video with so many people and not just over weight people but people going through all sorts of personal issues. my God continue to bless you
