In middle school I hated anime and my friend showed me this. Such a unique art style and it opened my mind to anime after. I always despised the big eyed, squealing girl cliche and Real Mayer was none of those things. I watched Death Note too and I still prefer this. It could use more of a long woven plot-like Monster (a stunning anime too) but both of them are my absolute favorites.

It's so typically japanese to put plot before romance, so I wasn't suprised at the lack of romance between the two during the anime. However I found myself so frustrated at the end of 23. Proxy that I wanted to punch a hole on the wall lol.

Amazing anime!!!!! one of the best!!!!! Although they couldve expanded re-l and vinces romance it was still kick ass. (SPOILER) i wanted vince to swoop down and take re-l in his arms when she was hanging obove the fire in the end. and maybe a kiss as the sun rises wouldnt have been a bad idea lol

y does the first time Ergo Proxy show up he looks hella demented but later just looks like a taller darker skin vincent?

its the mask, also its how the series progresses first hes a complete mystery so u only get a few glimpses of him usually him flashing past someone really quickly so hes just a blur or a dark image then when u find out its vince they show him clearly and he takes off the mask...i think lol

i love this show..one of my favorites..im actually thinking of writing my college paper for Philosophy on this show. one thing still confuses me..the 1st episode..what was Vincent doing? like, yes we know now that he was really there because he wanted to set Re-L on her path to destroy him, but the Vincent persona..why did he suddenly turn around and run to that house? and where was it? and what did Iggy see in her portfolio that made him turn the car around?
