I have noticed 80s vids feature mainly, womenwise, pretty blondes who look natural, today however, natural women are rare, and videos feature a lot of black haired girls with breast enlargements and hair weaves. It is all so fake.
i get the video him and his friends pretend not to know eachother then after she gets taken away from court they bail her out of the cop car and make of with her, she meets her dude and for some odd reason he drives off with her straight toward a semi then the video ends... cool song cool video but i dont get it
@mbds42 i dont think so cus wen she gets into the car tht guy gets into the truck maybe its if i cant be with u or if we cant be together lets die together?

Hadley is the man, i like the way he has time for poeple. I like the way people on the street apporach him to say hello and chat and take photos and he has time for them. I've seen this. he's a great guy.
naughty girls, think about youre future end save more monney and order the first row on an economic class end not the clothes only wolly end jeans trouwsers
this is real music... if u listen to the lyrics they actually have MEANING unlike that shitty music they have on the radio today... and this is one of Spandau Ballets best songs, in my opinion
The music industry nowadays stink. I found it telling that artists like Prince, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Elton John, Phil Collins and even Madonna doesn't hit the top 10 anymore. Radio stations are force feeding us the current crop of garbage and most of us aren't swallowing!
Current artists get over a million views, and this has barely over half a million? That's not right. I adore this song, I could listen to it over and over again. They don't make 'em like they did back then. 'If theres nothing else that I can do... I'll fly for you' -dead romantic. :)
The problem with modern music is that it is sanitised. I mean, would you expect Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, a song writern on and about LSD, to be released today?
I've seen the Spands many times in concert since 1980-This was at the time a new direction a classic. Tony Hadley is a superb vocalist awesome natural power similar to Paul Rodgers and Graham Bonnett. A nice touch in the video using Tony Hadley's wife as the blonde femme fatale
@MrSuperneil05 spandau ballet was a very tight band, arrangments were well done, sax solos used very well, and top it off with a guy who could sing as well as anybody before or after him, too bad their music was not appreciated as much as it could have been, but it has stood test of time
Wonderful song :) What else can I add? Miracles in music cant repeat. Actually music is at lowest level. Nothing can compare with New Wave Style of eighties :D
dedicata ai "vecchi" nostalgici e anche un pò romantici, che con questa canzone hanno sognato e ancor oggi rivivono le stesse emozioni di 25 anni fa...
Damn these guys stand the test of time i liked them with True as a child watching mtv but wow so many other songs are absolutley wonderful much better than 95 percent out there at least here in the US.
Classic that I had a hard time finding back in the 80's. It's so great to see it here. Seeing the World's Fair in the video brings back memories. Wish I had known when they were here, would have made the fair much more enjoyable.
Tony Hadley we love him madley, BANGING tune from the 80's, I wish we was back in the 80's......BIG shoulder pad's, BIG hair with high lights & bleached wedge,
tank tops, stay press trousers, woffle cardigans, thin black leather tie's and of course the white sock's, every body wore white sock's, coool days, cheesy memories, some of the best days of me life.
memories ,had to fight all the chicks off way back then cause i was so handsome....i had the last laugh though cause they dont chase me anymore now ive got a little older ... ahemm...ha!
what a great song ! Spandau Ballet are truly one of the greats from the eighties. It is a song with such emotion , Gary Kemp is a very talented songwriter . All of their songs were catchy and deserved to sell so well worldwide I loved them !!
Tomorrow they will be in Barcelona. I will be there too. I've been waiting more than 20 years to see them live. I cannot wait for it. It is a dream come true. I never though it could happen. Their songs have follow me all my live.
I am really jealous. I am in my late 20s and none of my friends know who Spandau Ballet are. To top it all, I live in the US and I know these guys will never tour here.
@pranavc Im 13 and I've known them since I was 7....I would just love it if my friends would actually listen to all the classics...they don't know what they"re missing :(
@Casteloser: that is pretty impressive. You obviously have very evolved taste for someone your age. Spandau Ballet is amazing - very unique. I also noticed that you are a Steve Perry fan. With the exception of "Foolish Heart", I tend to prefer his material with Journey over his solo material.
@pranavc Tony and Leonie split up after 20-something years. Tony has remarried and has a fourth child, a daughter. Tony and Leonie have a son, a daughter and a son together.
No they are not married anymore. Tony is now married to Alison and they have a daughter called Zara Katie together. Him and Leonie are still good friends tho and he sees his kids he has with her
I prefer the 2009 rendition of this song off Spandau's "Once More" album. It has a more contemporary feel (although I miss the sax intro on it!). I heard it on "Radio Creme Brulee" - a US internet radio station that features current pop/rock music from both sides of the Atlantic alongside hits and forgotten tracks from the last 3 decades. To listen, type "radiocremebrulee" in your google search field and it should be the 1st result. Now Spandau needs to tour the US!!! It's about time.
i was lucky enough to be around during the spans era then i moved to new zealand. guess what theyre coming here soon with tears for fears, what a lineup, gettin old aint so bad lol
oh, i wish i heard his song earlier. It is fantastic. I wish i was an eighties gal. oh, it makes me cry that my mum was invited to one of their parties when they celebrated true, but she did not go. I would give anything for that.
this video clip remainds me of the movie "against all odds". when I watched this on MTV, the last scene really shocked and moved me, I remember. I loved Spandauballet the most among the bands so called New British Invasions(new romantics) in early 80s.
I was a just junior highschool boy at his cheekiest in japan with adration to European music...
Totally agree. Until today never listened to anything but their song "True". After listening to this a few other selections these guys are actually very talented. The 80's was the golden era of music compared to today's Rapp and all the other garbage.
A class song from a great band. I must admit to thinking they were bland in the eighties, but in recent times have changed my mind. Listen to their whole catalogue, and there is a consistent body of well crafted, melodic and skilfully played songs. Critics derided them but compared to today's rubbish, this music is a masterclass in pop, and holds up very well today. In Liverpool recently on their tour, they were excellent, rolling back the years. If you get the chance to see them live, take it!
I agree with light50sniper. This is a great song & music video. It's so disappointing to see the qualities of music videos & songs that they make now a days. There's a lot of singers doesn't make good songs. Especially rappers or some rock singers there so much swearing in their songs if you can call it "song?" Same thing with their music videos sucks.
They don't make 'em like they used to. Top quality tune.
Where did it all go wrong. There seems to be a deliberate degradation of music over the past couple of decades. Record companies would rather promote utter crap than real music with soul and feel. Just look at the quality of the so called singers these days. I rest my case.
I agree it seems record companies want instant success with artists today and then drop them quickly. Fact is not many 'artists' have the talent in the first place for long term success. Take the X factor it just churns out disposable 'stars' with no real talent for longevity.
@light50sniper I couldn't agree with you more. Don't make em like they used to.
This group were one of my faves in the 80's. Teens nowadays I think just listen to total crap singers that think they have raw talent. Pity they can't appreciate the groups that we had back in the day.
seen it again this mornin and still just as good.better than that boom boom shit listen 2 now days.anyway i am sure i was young once.sorry to you yound people
So she plagiarises 'Hungry Like the Wolf' and so is taken to court and drives into a truck in her own video because she can't live with it. Nooo...surely not. This needs further investigation.

I was reading Martin's autobiography book, and he said that when he was laying on the log, he thought that it was quite dangerous and hardly liked it.
Then he saw a log floating towards him, he soon saw himself eye to eye with an alligator.

@light50sniper Agree ~ These guys had such class and polish - I miss them!

@light50sniper I couldn't agree with you more. Don't make em like they used to.
This group were one of my faves in the 80's. Teens nowadays I think just listen to total crap singers that think they have raw talent. Pity they can't appreciate the groups that we had back in the day.

I miss my tenor sax - sis got it after me!
I just added this to my series of music playlists for each of the last 100 years.
4 generations of pop music are just a few clicks away and each list will soon play for at least 2 hours, give me time . . . .

So she plagiarises 'Hungry Like the Wolf' and so is taken to court and drives into a truck in her own video because she can't live with it. Nooo...surely not. This needs further investigation.
