@290aiden No you have to reflash the stock kernel like I did (I used XXKI3) with ODIN and then use the jig. Which would fully restore and unroot the phone.

The yellow triangle as MattJ101101 explained is an indication that your phone has an insecure kernel which is an Android kernel that has been modified to purposely contain loop holes for a root exploit to seep through.

The jig itself to my knowledge just tidies your phone and gets rid of any cosmetic indications of customisations you did.

@ceejae808 Apparently, according to the all knowing source that is Google, the jig will put the phone in download mode and depending on what bootloader version you have, it may also be able to reset the custom binary counter. I have no idea which versions it will reset it and which versions it won't. They only sell the i9100 here in the UK. Our carriers didn't all demand their own version haha :-P.

@RUSS1110 Probably not, I live in the UK so we only have the proper S2, not the Qualcomm based T-Mobile version so I've not tested it but I doubt it'll work, you'll probably need a different jig at least.

This resets the counter... On the first stage bootload of a "flashed" device There will be a little triangle, This disappears.

Also If you get into softbrick mode This can put it into download mode where the button combo will fail.

I would wait untill you brink the phone then buy one, Or you could buy it in advace... I don't mind the triangle but you may ether way It is very usefull and the ones made for sgs 1 Still Work :D.

@TheGuilanvi the Jig resets the Custom Rom counter in the Samsung Galaxy S2. You only need it if your Phone is Bricked or you want to send it to samsung repair service. So they can not check if you have ever flashed a custom rom (firmware) on your phone (for rooting or so) ;) But its also easy to build a own jig ;) 0.6 watt metal film resistor Axial Leaded type 207 301 kOhm 0.6 W 1% + Micro USB 2.0 connector plug..

@eppsislike Depends what type of brick you have, full brick (hard to achieve on a Galaxy device), no, your phone's dead, sorry. God knows what you flashed to kill it though. A semi-brick or software brick, yes, the jig can force the phone into download mode allowing you to reflash a working firmware.

This both removes the yellow warning triangle on boot up and could be used to fool Samsung into believing the phone had never been rooted if it needed to go in for repairs under warranty. Saying this I can't actively condone this behaviour, it's simply something the jig COULD be used for :-P.....

@HeroReiKo Hard brick means it's completely dead and won't turn on in any way. Only way to fix this is buying a new phone. You can test hard bricking your phone by putting it in a barrel of whiskey for 1 month. It'll be bricked for sure. (jk)

@themightybmonkeydust If you brick your phone this will fix it. Bricking means that you have rooted your phone and flashed it or something but it went wrong and then you have to leave it to the retailer (the store you bought it from) to fix it. The problem is, the store doesn't fix your phone sometimes if you have rooted your phone. So basically, a USB jig for 12 dollars will save you about 600 dollars. Cheers.
