I remember watching my news "Scotland today" (ITV regional) with John Toy presenting it, and it was an hour and half after Dallas was shown on BBC 1 and up it came like a news flash, unbelieable J R SHOT ! I'm sure there must have been more pressing issues to take care of first in terms of news, but no, Try STV or ITV doing that nowadays there would be total outrage, The BBC forget it right to the dogs for wasting licence payers money, It just shows how big the soap was.
