La verdad es que en el Perú de los años 50 a Yma Sumac se le veía mal por fusionar huaynos y ritmos andinos con el mambo y el jazz. Y por eso no fue aquí muy popular (lo mismo que le sucedía a Susana Baca hasta hace unos años -guardando las distancias claro). Se creía entonces en el purismo del foclor y las fusiones eran mal vistas. Yma Sumac se adelantó a su tiempo! Fue una visionaria! Una leyenda!
