  • That's the G.S. MacLennan tune "The Little Cascade: followed by the Galtee Rangers

  • what is that tune at 1:45 I hear it and i like it and I need the sheet music!

  • what the f%&$ was that last tune?!?!?

  • can you tell me how he gets the natural key of f into his pipes when closing his legs ?!?!?!?

  • He covers the vent holes (the ones producing the low G sound) on both sides of the chanter with his thighs. Tried it but the sound wasn't really good ;)

  • thank you so much!!!!

  • No problem, glad I could help!

    Cheers!

  • Great stuff. Always been my ambition to play the pipes, but think am now too old...got as far a buying a chanter though..lol!

  • Never too late or too old. Am currently teaching an 82 year old. Go for it.

  • I wish I could multitask like at 0:49!! Woah. :P He probably practiced that. ;)

  • If only we had more fingers ........... we could play two octaves!!!!

  • That's so cool

  • Anyone know what the second tune is?

  • The second tune is Cutting Bracken

  • Flawless piping as always by Stuart Liddell! Wonder what's the title of the last tune with all this note bending?

  • The last tune is "The Galtee Rangers" and it's in Bill Livingstone's Book 1. The tune was played a lot by Bruce Gandy in the 80s when he was with the 78th Frasers. I think it's on the "Live in Ireland" CD.

  • Thank you very much for such a quick and thorough reply! And also thank you for all the Sound Advice clips, they're great!

  • Absolutley awesome! Perfect example of why this guy is my idol!
