even tho your an awesome mark kingsman, i have a friend that would get you, mark and wooten in slapping, popping, plucking, whatever you wanna call it. hes been doing it for forty year and is no joke when it comes to it. Its a shame that he doesnt know how great he is. Wish i can do it but, im so amazed by it i cant get off the porch. lmao much luv bro .^) 5/5
Mr GD. how are you doing! first off i'd like to say, when it's come to Mark King's tech, you are one solid slapper. your DVD's are what made me a fast and precise slapper Thanks freaking alot!!! my next step : Wooten...Keep up the good work man you are the best slap teacher around!
Excelente demo... gracias por la ayuda, sin embargo a pesar de estar muy bien explicado, me falta mucho para poder llegar a hacer este ejercicio... Se agradece el aporte!!
A fantastic posting for the student of slap bass playing! Very well done, a fine bassist - thanks!
I notice that the truss cover is missing from your Jaydee - does it need constant adjusting? I had a supernatural back in the eightis and the neck was a nightmare!
i find its nearrly impossible to listen to a slap recording and find the lines cos sometimes there goin that fast u can't tell the difrence between snap n slap n poppin n all that and dont even get me started on duble. slap is extremely hard to fid the lines of cos its all SFX
I've finally mastered old style slapping...my thumb now bounces of it's own accord and I can go crazy and play triplets, although not quite as fast as this (but is that the real goal?)...so I'm not pursuing this style and definitely not Wootons (which is more like thumbstroke than slap)...but I have to give this guy kudos and an award for best facial expression (or lack off)while shredding that bass :-)
is there a slight difference between audio and visual? I watch it over and over ...is it left hand, slap, snap? or slap, left hand, snap? It's driving me bananas trying to pinpoint noise and cause. If it's left hand, slap, snap doesn't that mean the slap is muted....as you can see I'm goin' crazy
I use DR HiBeams (30 - 90) and yes, I tune standard EADG! The light gauge strings allow for greater bendability, but lose their tone quicker than heavier gauges!
What was really odd was that I learned alot of these lines when I was 15 (more than 20 years ago) I always did th triplets ThumbThumbPop and not ThumbHammerPop...No wonder I never got it that fast. This way it's not "sooo" hard. Cool Stuff though Thanks.
And you don't look like you've taken quite so many drugs as Mr.K looks as though he has.
That's the same technique I use. I still cant get Victor Wooten's double thumb thing going.

Just a question to Mr Denyer - What strings are you using and are they tuned to usual standard EADG???
