"California is a very progressive state".....yet not only did we reject 5 new initiatives to raise taxes, we also voted to stop paying for illegal immigrants to send their kids to our schools, to pay for their emergency room visits, to put them on welfare & food stamps. Then the Federal gov came in & told us it was "unconstitutional" and we had to pay anyway.
We also voted no gay marriage. The people of California are not the progressives, the controllers of this state are.

Isn't that the way it seems to be in most places. A great state like Cal gets a bum wrap because some morons you have elected. Boxer, Pelosi and waters to name a few. I'm in Florida and we have our whackos too...Grayson :D At least our state Govt. hasn't tried to start income tax or property tax increases. They do balance the budget for the most part. I think that's why so many people move here, It is so much cheaper that most areas plus we have great weather.
