  • I don't hear any sound either.

  • No sound heard ?

  • I was all about buying this until he said the cd needs to dry for 24 hours.

  • Thanks Kerry!

  • Lightscribe is a totally different system. Use only the white printable kind.

  • Good tutorial! If only Epson were this helpful!

  • what will happen after 24 hours?

  • onediscmore

  • Thanks! people.

  • How do I make the white empty looking DVD/CD?

  • The plain white discs must be purchased. Available at electronic stores and many office supply shops.

  • I use the Canon MP-830 and it is also difficult to see and align the arrows on the tray and tray. There is room on the inside for a puck size stick on LED lamp to illuminated the inside of the feed area. Maybe that might help....

  • I have an HP printer that does the same thing, prints come out looking Fantasic! and only takes about 1 min to print on a Printable dvd/cd extra fine matt surface.

  • congratulations

  • How much did your HP printer cost you?

  • used on ebay for 39.00 GBP or about $70.00. New for about 60.00 GBP or about just under $100.00

  • What type of cd/dvd are you using for printing

Is it special or just regular cd

  • You must use a "Printable" CD/DVD. It has a smooth white printable surface. Regular discs or LightScribe discs will not work.

  • Where u u get the software

  • The software comes with the printer.

  • Where do you get the tray

  • Tray is included in box...if your model prints onto CD/DVDs.

  • RX700 doesn't print cd's?

  • Yes it does. Uses a tray just like one in this video.

  • Thanks for sharing.

  • An Epson R200 also does it as do a few other R model Epsons! ( i've got one! )

  • Awesome! thanks, :)

  • Canon printers own epsons as far as speed and print quality.

Epsons are prone to serious clogging.

    Epson IS garbage.

  • do those cd's with white on top already pre-made and you can buy those on the store or do you have to paste the paper on the cd before you print?

  • The CD/DVDs have a special white coating already on them. (Memorex makes them, for instance.) Theres NO pasting of paper - thats why this method is so good. Paper labels may come loose after a while.

  • Thanks so much...I have an R1800 and haven't really used it to its full potential...its been alot of help about the cd printing. If you have a video on cleaning the nozzles on R1800 please let me know.

  • Search for SSC Service Utility.( free utility) This will clean the nozzles for you on an epson

  • VERY helpful! Thank you! Annie

  • im considering getting the 280.. just wondering, how much ink this uses up? Like, on average, (colorful prints), how much can ya get out of one cartiage of colored ink?

I assume the R280 used just one color cartiage?

  • I "fixed" my garbage Epson printer by taking it to a field, and beating the shit out of it using a baseball bat. I freaking *HATE* Epson printers so much, I rammed the snot out of it for at least an hour.

Joke, but seriously though, Epson *IS* garbage.

  • I dunno, mine has worked flawlessly for years. I had an HP once & it had roller issues and other problems. So you never know. So - what printer do you like?

  • I've had two, and both clogged. The problem is in the print head. It's a fixed head. When you change the ink cartridge, you do not get a new print head, unlike many other (better) printers.

The ink is at great risk of clogging, and Epson knows this. That's why the printer goes through this whole start up ritual every time you turn it on (or off).

It sucks especially hard if all you want to do is scan something while having to see your ink being flushed down the toilet.

    Epson sucks.

  • good video thank u sir

  • Excellent video! The commentary was very well done and I'm glad it showed how the final disc looks! These kinds of videos are the best to research on a particular product before buying them! Well done!

  • Thanks so much Danny!

  • Thanks for the video and all the good information. I was wondering why you didn't fill in the recessed arrows on the printer frame with 'Whiteout' or even a a label cut to fit. The black marker on black plastic was a little to hard to see.

  • THANKS YOU!!!!

  • haha, the mic alone was worth the five star rating. I really don't know how I come across these videos..

  • ha ha, nice mic.

    lol.

    chunky !

  • Excellent presentation. 5 stars!

My grandmother(!) was wondering how to print onto DVDs with her Epson colour printer and so I logged on to Youtube to see if there were any instructions. And there were!

Thanks again for these. Her holiday videos will look grand now, who says technology is for the young? ^^

(And by browsing your channel I also found out how to make peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Brilliant =D)

  • Good presentation, and I enjoyed it very much. I'm using the Epson R280 which costs around $100 and does a fine job printing onto the dvd/cd's..its the ink thats a killer!...

Epson practically gives you the lower priced printers. The one used here cost much more and will probably last longer than mine.

  • Thanks! Yes, its the ink cost on ALL printers that gets us. Your Epson R280 is a great little printer. As a photographer, I wanted the large prints that the R1800 makes. The CD/DVD printing was a side issue - now its one of my main uses! Soon, I'll do a video about the HP C5250 - an $89 printer that also prints on DVDs. We'll compare the two. Stay tuned.

  • I like the way you give the step by step instruction very clear and easy ti understand. Well done and keep the good work!

  • If you want a really fool proof way to label your discs then stop playing games and get a DiscPainter. It works flawlessly without the feed tray problems that are so common with the Epson disc printers.

  • I have seen the DiscPainter and it is very nice. However, the Epson serves my needs perfectly for now.

  • DReidUtoob, That's a biased comment. This Epson printers can do more than just print CDs in high definition. I've never own a CD printer and I figure it out in a snap. The artist who drew those instructions isn't knowledgeable about the consumer's ways. It's not a huge problem. This one sells for $100, the DiscPainter sells for $276 and prints unusually slow.

  • I've heard that It's a pretty good printer (the 1800 that is). However, I own two color laser printers and wonder how durable the print is on the disc after being printed on by an inkjet printer. Not that DVDs usually get wet, but regular handling may smudge?

  • I know what you mean. I've not had any problems thus far with smudging. My "Gloss Spray" in the 1800 has been going down but they look Matte. However, I still feel it is a better method than stick-on labels.

  • That's pretty cool. Thanks for showing us that.

  • Any problems with your printer?

  • Can you tell me which printer model# you are using and what brand of dvds. thanks.

  • Hi...I have been very happy with my Epson R1800 printer. I happen to use Memorex DVD-R blanks. Nearly Zero problems with printer or discs.

  • thats cool kerry

  • Bravo... Great video

    Ciao From Italy..

  • Great video! Very well done. You are a very good teacher. Right now I do not have one of those models but I might want to look into it. What I do have is a really good ink source, SPOT4INK DOT COM. Try SPOT4INK DOT COM and see what great prices you can get and great ink to boot. Most cartridges are remanufactured which makes them as green as possible. There are no shipping costs ever and delivery is fast and efficient. Thanks again for taking the time to share your knowledge with others.

  • Thanks for the compliment...AND the commercial! :-)

  • Thanks.

  • You are not only a good teacher, you are also a good listener and very smart. :-). I would like to know more about Kerry's Kitchen. Are you a cook also?

  • Thanks! No, I'm not much of a cook - just a professional eater. I do like to make simple things & made these videos to help others like me. There are 3 listed here plus they are on cable TV in Orlando, FL & hopefully soon in Rochester, NY.

  • Thanks Kerry. I will look up the videos. I need simple recipes. Keep up the good work. Let that teacher teach.

  • Now how do you print on the internet Media Center?

  • This is very useful Kerry. Thanks. And will there be anymore Kerry's Kitchen coming along? I just noticed at 02:37 that it said Kerrys Kitchen and I was wondering if anymore will be made. Thanks again.

  • Thanks for your comment. There will be more Kerry's Kitchen hot off the stove soon!

  • Thanks Kerry. And how much do those printers usually go for?

  • The R1800 sells for around $495. I have seen the others starting at around $99.
