  • I just had to play along with this on my guitar, couldn't help myself. Great job dude!

  • I can do this easily. Just let me learn how to tune my bass

  • and I thought learning the lemon song was impressive...

  • I actually enjoyed this greatly. This is my first time seeing you play; I would buy a bass album.

  • Solid playing man! Very smooth feel. Question: what are you using for your electronics? I started playing bass a little while ago but know nothing about pedals, loop stations, anything, so I wanted to ask.

  • Verry nice vid, verry nice exemple of good bass for starting player like me :D

  • That is some peng musical sound. I'm listening to this with my eyes closed!

  • Lol

  • very nice bro i wish i could play like this. sigh* mabe someday....

  • I love this.

  • it's great song good work

  • siempre me pregunte porque los negros tocan tan bien el bajo

  • You play with so much feeling and fluidity, props man!

  • I wish i had a 7 string, cause theres so many things you can stylistically do on a 7 string, however ill stick to my four string for now. awesome vid. keep on playin

  • I respect African-Americans who can actually play the bass.

  • i like the way you touch strings. really good job

  • nice!

  • out of curiosity, how long have you been playing?

  • great men!!!

  • very nice playing... but this metronome is annoying me... better listen to you playing with no metronome...

  • MANIFIQUE

By the way, what key/scale were you soloing in?

  • Groovy :D

  • Por Favor No Mas, No Mas

  • plsssss smeone teach me the guitar no matter hw slow..plsss jst teach me..

  • lol 2:34

the computer adds its bit to the solo

  • Nice lil broziff...

  • Good job man. Makes me not even wanna call my self a bass player. I have a improv practice vid, but yours is way better.

  • @diggablemanny i often feel the same way when i see other bass players playing (#truestory). I think we may both have the problem of being overly self-critical. There will always be room for you to grow as a musician. Not a single one of the bass players that we admire got to where they are without years of dedication to their craft. Check out bunnybrunel and marlowedk and spend as much time as is necessary to get a lot of the things they're teaching down. I'm STILL practicing their stuff.

  • fantastic.......

  • @diggablemanny and LLroomtempJ --i am not as good as you guys but i often also feel that i am crappy because i see you guys and feel that i am not as i should be but my friends tell me that i am not technical but that i come up with things that others players might not come up with .We all have our space that we fit in so let's just do it i suppose.

  • Wish I got that bass as a present :(

  • nice one but still needs more practice on scales and some listening to people like jaco pastorious to draw some inspiration :-)

  • Really nice playing mate, got to love them conklin 7's, what're your mods entail of?

  • @thuggedoutbitch i've got a neck from the custom shop and gold hardware. This bass is a present that i received from a friend that has multiple 7 string basses.

  • I have never known that 50 Cent plays the bass. Anyway, he does it great.

  • koRns bass player has a bass with seven strings too... im fine with four :D

  • Seven string bass, mate that is massive :L

  • I can feel the feeling... (y)

  • what kind of equipment would you use to record and loop like that?

  • i just realized what your username means. nice one!

  • that was sexy

  • Im really proud of you bro. You sound great. Im coming to NY just to hear you play so get ready.

  • Im definitely gonna have to check you out the next time

Im in NYC. You've gotten a lot better. Im really proud of you bro.

  • Man, I really like ur style, I'd like to get to know u to be friends for a knowlegde exchange. can I have ur msn adress ? greatins from colombia, south america.

  • get the hell outta that room and rent a loft and invest in yourself papa...u r going far dude...get a hip hop rock trio going and hit the streets...with a female vocalist? what!!! Sade meets Beyonce meets Alicia Keys meets Spyro Gyra

  • Is there any tabliture availble for this?

  • that was pretty good!

  • Guitar player: Shut up bass player, i have more strings than you, therefore i am superior to you!

Bass Player: (opens case) Well i bought a new bass, and this one has SEVEN STRINGS! SO HA!

  • @Awsomeman365 Well I play an 7/8/9 string guitar so.....please just GTFO. Also I play 6/7 string bass too so go figure.......

  • @Awsomeman365 Metal guitar player: Shut up bass player, my guitar has 7 strings!

Metal bass player: Screw you, my bass has 10 strings! /watch?v=FGVyk_TObCo

  • @Awsomeman365 not to be the bear of bad news but more than 6 strings on a bass in my opinion defeats the purpose of it being a "bass"

  • @Awsomeman365 DRUM PLAYER: who cares cause i just got a job with drake to play drums ahah and i got a new kit wit a double kick pedal with 2 floor toms only got it for 4,568

  • @Awsomeman365 thats why they make the good ole 12 string (;

  • Man you sound great ! Keep it up especially due to the fact that your playing a 7 string ! And again awesome .

  • traducción del español al inglés

Hello good solo! sorry I know you use to record your tracks is some program? pedal?

  • @pablitognk uso el digitech jamman.

  • @LLroomtempJ ok thaks gracias!

  • WOW!! ilove this bass line

    uare awesome!!! :D

  • Good Stuff Man!

  • You should use a RC-50 Loop Station, I think your style is great and being able to play around with 3 different phases could really suit it well. Awesome playing though.

  • sounds good but i think your top string is slightly out of tune. as someone has already has already mentioned i like how you build up your melodic lines, gives the listener a good understanding of the piece before you start elaborating on your scales, modes and arpeggios

  • @acidiceccfc123 when this video was filmed, my intonation was in bad shape. I've since had the bass set up and it sounds and plays even better.

  • this is incredible(in my opinion)

  • I really like how you started slow, building your melodic lines. Nice!

  • I really like how you started slow, building your melodic lines. Nice!

  • so cool !!!

  • amazing but black people dont need a metronom xD

  • @VikingOfAsgaard cool commentar xDDD

  • @VikingOfAsgaard - Whatever!

  • two questions, 1- what loop pedal are you using? and 2- if I could get a GT-5 for $650 should I go for it? thanks

  • sounds kinda like something daft punk would make

  • I like :)

  • how do u fit your finger into those tiny frets at the end??

  • @llS2639ll it's easier than it looks. The hardest thing about playing a 7 string bass is playing repetitive bass lines on the low end. "Higher ground" is a perfect example of a song that is VERY difficult to play b/c of how repetitive it is and how difficult it is to stretch for the octave across the neck down there (Eb slap octave --> F# slap octave --> Ab slap octave)

  • @llS2639ll just like playing a guitar lol

  • smooth

  • tabs? haha no im just kidding i couldnt steal such a masterpiece from you!

  • Effin' sick

  • You mind if I take the chords to put up an improv?? I won't take credits I swear jaja :)

  • I have a major crush on 3:54 till the end. I love the sound of a jazzy bass. (:

  • nice work, is that a 7-string?

  • I enjoy the sliding sound you make. It's pretty unique.

Even if that wasn't done purposely. xD

    Well done.

    Keep playing fellow musician.

  • if you dont mind me asking what is yourmusical background?? ae you self taught or actually trained in music?? im self taught but there is only so far i can get without actually getting down the fundamentals.

  • @choigunz

I started out playing in the church. My first teacher was a beginner's bass lesson vhs. After that, i picked up things in a very here and there/piecemeal fashion. 2 lessons from justin raines. One lesson in a guitar center on intervallic playing from a random guy. Took 15mins. Did a lot of playing by ear

Didn't "officially" learn the pentatonic scale until my 3rd year on bass - no doubt i had been applying it.

I wouldn't recommend that anyone learn the way that I did.

  • @choigunz the fundamentals are key. I've got a video up here called chord and scale instruction. Watch that. Also learn bunny brunel's scale stuff. Those lessons are invaluable if only to give you different things to practice and different tools in your solo repertoire.

  • @choigunz Common misunderstanding, No one needs a teacher to learn music. If you mean music theory by ' fundamentals., do a google search, you can learn anything you will ever need to know about music theory on line, the internet is an amazing tool, I have used the internet exclusively to learn to play bass I have no proof that I am good, cause i have no videos, so you have no reason to believe me, but honestly, I feel that I am a very very advanced and talented bass player.

  • you should play with a drum machine, its alot more fun

  • you would also be great on jazz guitar.

  • smooth

  • nice dude!

  • dam u nasty bro

  • You've got rythm!

  • Damn........ your jam put me in a better mood!!!

    Great stuff!!

  • the riff in the beginning is from 2Pac, am i right? :D Great Job man! You have a very beautiful style :D

  • Tasteful improvs there ;-)

  • You nice wit it brah! Keep up the good work.

  • From the way you look, i wasn't really expecting a casual jazz type bass player to start playing then!

    Awesome playing :D!

  • what looper do you use, man? great improv.

  • 8 string bass?

  • @TheCodmod2fan I think it's 7

  • @TheBritishDood oh yeah my bad

  • Why do you need a seven string bass????

  • AW man must be nice to God like on a bass.Great video I'm learning and I hope to achieve only a fraction of your awesome skills. Thanks LL HOTEP!

  • wow this is spectacular, good job

  • Would you be ok if i made a song out of the main bass riff and gave credit to ur name for the riff. Dont worry, it wouldnt be anything trashy.

  • Nice equipment, you're a great musician. I got covers but mostly of ska and I'm a pussy using a 4 string lol

  • smooth stuff... good job

  • Proper nice man

  • I really like your video good job

  • this shit is pretty sick man good work

  • i like them. I've got 2. I purchased two to replace my ashdown 410.

The sound quality is great. They handle lows very well.

They are power hungry (their sensitivity is 93) but people have got great sound using a variety of different amp combinations.
