sounds interesting. guy with power thinks his alone. turns out he's not, meets bad guy who turns into good guy cos' he has the same powers, they fight random dudes who for some unknown reason wanna kill them, they later on either win or get spared by the good guy who has to fight his own kind in order to be the only good guy.

deus ex machina is just a term used meaning... a timely occurance that resolves all given problems in a storyline. e.g. a maricle basically i think it is coincidence

I made the same mistake when I saw the name and the powers. Still, I know a guy who did start filming a short based on that game, though the idea is very likely to be abandoned already:

'god out of the machine', or more exactly 'god out of the crane'. It was a performance in classic theaters that was used to absurdly obtain a happy ending: an actor, impersonating a flying god, entered the scene from above aided by a crane(machina) and simply saved the situation.

Although i must admit, I rushed a bit by posting that yesterday. Looking at the movie again, I believe I saw more resemblance between it and Deus Ex than there actually is. Sorry.

In fact, i don't really think resemblances should be looked at as something bad. 'Heroes' is a piece of art, so it's probably positive that this movie reminds me of it. Congrats.
