Great video. I love flights like that where it's stormy and seems like midnight when you take off, then you get above the clouds and it's daytime. The pilots must have been quite busy weaving their way through that stuff.
Great video, what makes it so good is that you don't hype it all up like some people do who post turbulence videos, ie worst, scary..turbulence...then they wonder why they get negative comments...i don't see any negative comments here..
I remember being on a flight from the Caribbean back home, and it looked almost exactly like this. The fact that one woman behind me was constantly repeating, "We're all gonna die." softly to herself certainly didn't help.
@DennisBayazitov hahah im sure that must have been quite a scare! Flying to Netherlands from the USA is full of turbulence also. it sure makes your stomach turn
Seriously? You consider this bad? I have flown quite a few times and I can tell you right now, that this is not that bad. Is the weather ominous looking? Sure, is it severe weather? No. Stop being over dramatic.
AND...
Just so people understand something, the tower clears the take off and landing.
@0To60InABlink Yeah, but the dispatchers from the airline have to give the go-ahead first. The pilot get's to choose whether or not he WANTS ATC clearance.
@iFlightTV Exactly, the pilot has the ultimate decision on whether (no pun intended) to take off or not. And perhaps, as someone said "no storm can tear a plane apart", however downdrafts, wind-shear and hail can certainly cause one to crash.
On camera this weather probably looks worse than it was, but I still think this pilot made a risky decision opting for take-off in those conditions.
I had no idea that they would clear for takeoff in bad weather like this! I've had many flights delayed due to weather like this! This would've freaked me the hell out! Good video though!
Are you kidding? I'm no professional pilot, but I do fly for business 3-4 times a week, and I have never taken off in storm conditions that bad. Some pilot please help me with this? I live in the midwest USA and our thunderstorms could tear an airliner apart. Is this takeoff a bad judgement call by the pilot or are the conditions in this video not as bad as they appear??
@macbookusrkid Yes, you are so correct! Jetliners and large planes in general are built to withstand storms such as this, but the pilots are properly trained on which areas of the storm to stay away from. And if were a tornado or hurricane at full force, the airport would probably have been closed. I have seen that happen many times myself. Rest assured, they know what they are doing. However, I have to admit that I get a bit nervous when it gets excessively bumpy!
very nice vid.!!i would sh*t in my pants if i was in your place, and never thinking of recording a take off in that weathercondition...thx(belgium)

@0To60InABlink I think pretty much everyone on here who has flown in a plane realizes that the towers has to clear the take off.
