  • Amazing song!

  • 1:49 I wonder if that was glitched on purpose or is it just distortion

  • best night of my life

  • One of the most spiritual things I have ever experienced, at least 3 other people around me where crying, it was so strange. I'm not spiritual but something happened in me...I didn't believe I could be so moved by music. I can die a happier, more fulfilled person...

  • @delythgriffiths i totally agree, it was beyond words, the closet thing ive felt to god and im an atheist. i was actually there alone as i was working at the festival, but i felt connected to everyone around me, the air was truly electric that night and i fear ill never experience anything as good again.

  • @luketoddhunter Sweet where did you work? I worked too, I worked in production, I also performed in a few festivals around, but not Latitude, I chickened out majorly...Jesus, you totally reminded me of the performance and now my head is filled with endorphins and flashbacks. Sweet.

  • @delythgriffiths i was working on security, but it was for the stores near the tents so i didn't get a backstage pass, but i'm guessing you did working on production? im jealous if so. i went to see them about a year after this in a relatively small venue in Manchester i think, but it wasn't anywhere near the experience i got at lattitude. i remember at the end of the lattitude gig when they finished just walking away in a complete dream like state completely elated.

  • @delythgriffiths I might recognise you! I wizzed around on those gator things...Did a lot of backstage stuff. Hmm, I wonder if you might me one of the hundreds of security guys I befriended...

  • @delythgriffiths doubt it, i spent all my time guarding the portable beauty salon near the tents, damn that was hard work watching all the girls get dolled up lol so i didn't really get to mingle with many people outside of that area. ill send you my email you can look me up on facebook if you want?

  • I am 60 and I think they are extraordinary. I found a CD in a room. Some one had written 'Takk'. I put it on in my car. This song has been my guardian as I drive across an island to which I have just moved. Sigur Ros - thank you for my souundtrack of transition. My star. My navigation.

Oh -and - someone shoot the bloke who is clapping in the crowd. Tak.

  • @tobyruncorn2 They are fucking awesome. Even if they broke up. This song is beautiful. Have you heard "Grow till tall"? By Jonsi? THAT is a gorgeous/sad song.

  • Amazing band - amanzing festival. I'd gone back to collapse on the grass after Elbow but this was just magical - gutted I hadn't stayed up at the barrier!

Up there with the best live bands I've ever seen

  • jonsi <3

  • 1:37 - 1:55

    his movements.

  • walked through the crowd during hoppipolla in this performance - i'd say about 70% of the people were either crying or very close to crying. SUCH a good live band!

  • they look tough as hell in their costumes.

  • I am gonna go ahead and say it, but it is with some misgiving...I think they're the best band that ever existed. And ... they might be better than Radiohead.

    ~tho I Might Be Wrong.....

  • This was amazing, id see them again anytime.

My favourite part of latitude 2008 i thinks. ;D

  • Epic.

  • pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff 1.40

  • My favorite Sigur Ros song. Such an original and unique band. I bet seeing them live is unreal.

  • It's fucking amazing.

  • I was at this! :) Latitude festival is the best I've ever been to!

Went to watch them In bklackpool on bonfire night too which was amazing :D

  • Brilliant quality, one of the best I have seen.

A great recording of a phenominal band.

  • I seriously need to go see Sigur Ros live before I die =) <3

  • you do. i saw them last night in london and they were absolutely brilliant, unlike any other gig i had been to. this song is brilliant!

  • They were in London?!

    *Jaw drops*

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I gotta go find out where they're next gig is!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8D

  • afraid so. i think they are playing the last date of their world tour in reykjavik tonight, but hopefully they will do another tour soon. i HIGHLY recommend it, at any cost!

  • @42LightYears me too :)

  • I have no idea where the NME journalist was during this show, they were incredible! a life affirming moment.

Good job he wasn't stood near me, thats for sure.

  • Biggest regret this summer.. losing the g/f or missing latitude...

Got to be latitude, i can only dream of what the atmosphere was like with saeglopur through the air.

  • reminds me of laying at the back with my ex girlfriend, just listening to the music. very emotional moment.

  • Fuck Nme,,

    I Was There,,

    They Were Imense,,

    I Am Seeing Them Again,,

    Best Band There

  • fuckin nme's review of this festival was appauling

they said that sigur ros were boring and people hardly took any notice of them, from every video ive seen sigur ros were amazing as always

i wish i could have been there :(

    fuck the nme :)

    x

  • It was the first time I've seen Sigur ros live and they blew me away. The entire crowd was captivated. NME must have been looking the wrong way!

  • wow, you got a really good sound quality :)

The music video for this is awesome, i was just picturing it as they played this.

  • Saw them at rock werchter festival, they were amazing! They should of headlined instead of Radiohead

  • I was there!

    They were so amazing.

  • what i find amazing is that this was the best performance i have ever seen in my life and i, like everybody else there that night, did not know one word of what they were saying.

  • the festival was broadcast live on nationalgeographic, so i was very excited to see it. i cancelled everything on saturday, only to find out it was last week. DAMN! atleast they are coming to san diego in october.

  • my friends cousin is in sigur ros

  • Very true, Sigur Ros were amasing! I must say, I really liked Joanna Newsom aswell though. A great find.

Saw Sigur Ros at Westminster Hall last month - the lighting was so much more imense indoors! But what a performance.

  • i think i speak on behalf of the majority of the 25,000 people there, when i say this was the highlight of the weekend, never known music to have such an incredible atmosphere, it-was-amazing! thanks for the video, great memories..

  • Sigur Ros are the best band on the planet, and there is no argument

Radiohead are so close it's frightening; i can feel Thom and co breathing down my neck - but they have been superceded by the Ros

At Latitude, Sigur Ros proved themselves as a band to be truly reckoned with in world terms - I look forward to their next album already :D

  • Well done, great quality and sound. Thank you for reminding me how good it was. What a sensational festival?? This show was definitely the highlight of the weekend... Frankie Boyle a close second ;)

  • Excellent sound on this - nice one! Was there, right up at the front. One hell of a line-up that night. Really made the festival. :)

  • gosh. i wish i could do it all over again. xx

  • cannot wait to see sigur ros november. best band on the planet? yes.

  • I was there and they were f**cking incredible, Best Part Of The Weekend

  • Lucky, lucky people :(

5th November seems so long away....

  • I was at the front, right in the middle. It was the most amazing thing seeing this...

  • You must have practically next to me then. A totally awesome experience. Wish I was seeing them in November also.

  • Yeah Elbow were very good, as was Seasick Steve before them. I only went for the one day, but what a day! And Sigur's last tune blew me away (I was staggering around like I was shell-shocked for 5 mins after).

  • brilliant video and captures the memory of seeing them at Latitude for me. Thanks.

  • I was there...i was leaning against a fence and me and my mates fell asleep, it was soooooooo relaxing. Nizlopi = the BEST!

  • so moving!

i gotm y guest camping tickets from sigur ros so it was that little bit extra special for me. amazing amazing amazing. goosebumps just thinking about it! cried from start to finish!

  • Sigur Ros, Interpol and Grinderman were all highlights in one big festival sized highlight

  • I saw them this year , they were absolutely amazing . I love Sigur Ros. Blondie shouldn't have headlined, Interpol were awesome , I as in front row :D

  • blondie should have been on the obelisk stage instead of grinderman, they were awful

  • blondie didn't headline

  • how dare you, Blondie sucks, interpol owns blondie anyday.

  • I LOVE latitude we have gone everi year since its start in 2006! BLONDIE SHOULD HAVE HEADLINED ON SUNDAY NOT INTERPOL (they suck)

  • interpol were amzing however i think that elbow should have headlined because they were by far one of the best bands of the whole weekend
