One of the most spiritual things I have ever experienced, at least 3 other people around me where crying, it was so strange. I'm not spiritual but something happened in me...I didn't believe I could be so moved by music. I can die a happier, more fulfilled person...
@delythgriffiths i totally agree, it was beyond words, the closet thing ive felt to god and im an atheist. i was actually there alone as i was working at the festival, but i felt connected to everyone around me, the air was truly electric that night and i fear ill never experience anything as good again.
@luketoddhunter Sweet where did you work? I worked too, I worked in production, I also performed in a few festivals around, but not Latitude, I chickened out majorly...Jesus, you totally reminded me of the performance and now my head is filled with endorphins and flashbacks. Sweet.
@delythgriffiths i was working on security, but it was for the stores near the tents so i didn't get a backstage pass, but i'm guessing you did working on production? im jealous if so. i went to see them about a year after this in a relatively small venue in Manchester i think, but it wasn't anywhere near the experience i got at lattitude. i remember at the end of the lattitude gig when they finished just walking away in a complete dream like state completely elated.
@delythgriffiths I might recognise you! I wizzed around on those gator things...Did a lot of backstage stuff. Hmm, I wonder if you might me one of the hundreds of security guys I befriended...
@delythgriffiths doubt it, i spent all my time guarding the portable beauty salon near the tents, damn that was hard work watching all the girls get dolled up lol so i didn't really get to mingle with many people outside of that area. ill send you my email you can look me up on facebook if you want?
I am 60 and I think they are extraordinary. I found a CD in a room. Some one had written 'Takk'. I put it on in my car. This song has been my guardian as I drive across an island to which I have just moved. Sigur Ros - thank you for my souundtrack of transition. My star. My navigation.
Oh -and - someone shoot the bloke who is clapping in the crowd. Tak.
@tobyruncorn2 They are fucking awesome. Even if they broke up. This song is beautiful. Have you heard "Grow till tall"? By Jonsi? THAT is a gorgeous/sad song.
Amazing band - amanzing festival. I'd gone back to collapse on the grass after Elbow but this was just magical - gutted I hadn't stayed up at the barrier!
walked through the crowd during hoppipolla in this performance - i'd say about 70% of the people were either crying or very close to crying. SUCH a good live band!
I am gonna go ahead and say it, but it is with some misgiving...I think they're the best band that ever existed. And ... they might be better than Radiohead.
afraid so. i think they are playing the last date of their world tour in reykjavik tonight, but hopefully they will do another tour soon. i HIGHLY recommend it, at any cost!
what i find amazing is that this was the best performance i have ever seen in my life and i, like everybody else there that night, did not know one word of what they were saying.
the festival was broadcast live on nationalgeographic, so i was very excited to see it. i cancelled everything on saturday, only to find out it was last week. DAMN! atleast they are coming to san diego in october.
i think i speak on behalf of the majority of the 25,000 people there, when i say this was the highlight of the weekend, never known music to have such an incredible atmosphere, it-was-amazing! thanks for the video, great memories..
Well done, great quality and sound. Thank you for reminding me how good it was. What a sensational festival?? This show was definitely the highlight of the weekend... Frankie Boyle a close second ;)
Yeah Elbow were very good, as was Seasick Steve before them. I only went for the one day, but what a day! And Sigur's last tune blew me away (I was staggering around like I was shell-shocked for 5 mins after).
i gotm y guest camping tickets from sigur ros so it was that little bit extra special for me. amazing amazing amazing. goosebumps just thinking about it! cried from start to finish!
I saw them this year , they were absolutely amazing . I love Sigur Ros. Blondie shouldn't have headlined, Interpol were awesome , I as in front row :D

Very true, Sigur Ros were amasing! I must say, I really liked Joanna Newsom aswell though. A great find.
Saw Sigur Ros at Westminster Hall last month - the lighting was so much more imense indoors! But what a performance.

Sigur Ros are the best band on the planet, and there is no argument
Radiohead are so close it's frightening; i can feel Thom and co breathing down my neck - but they have been superceded by the Ros
At Latitude, Sigur Ros proved themselves as a band to be truly reckoned with in world terms - I look forward to their next album already :D
