  • shouldnt he be the sponsor for kramer guitars? lol

  • I must be falling behind in the latest gear. My "more" button is called a volume peddle.

  • I love this guy

  • after he stopped playing, all I heard was practically "hello, I'm that guy that will ALWAYS be better than you at EVERYTHING I do :D"

  • Man what a distortion pedal

  • more button gives power, me likey

  • this guy play like shit!!!

  • @milukinjo13 This guy grammar like shit!

  • @milukinjo13 Learn to spell moron

  • @skoogy7 fuck offf you fuckin fuck..

  • @skoogy7 Say that to your mother!

  • everythings vox lol

  • can this pedal handle metal tone? like perhaps trivium, lamb of god etc...

  • @Davo3752 Same. I just got one it sounds so much better than here.

  • if you turn the gain down & use a compressor and EQ it has potential otherwise its just another FIZZ in abox.I know I bought one

  • many bees inside that pedal

  • gain factory. sounds like crap and he thinks he is so cool look at 0:32

  • does anyone know what guitar he is playing?

  • by the way, thank you someone finally was able to actually show the great tone this pedal has, all other vids just sound like raspy tinfoil

  • Depends on what you play but this is the best dist unti I have ever had the pleasure of owning. Heavy fusion and heavy rock this is great. If you want to mimic other players, what can I say. I do not sound like Joe, who sounds like Joe? Who sounds like EVH? A lot sound like shit. This box might help make you a better player because good tone pushes you further. Until you stop the stupid copying of others you can never really create or play music.

I've got a fever, I need more cow bell!

  • just awesome pedal

  • he said JOEL satriani-EPIC FAIL!!!

  • from 0:26 till 0:50 i was like i had to shit my pants !!!!!!!!

  • This is harsh..

  • would this be good for early van halen stuff?

  • I really want one of these now

  • Can anyone say Mad Professor?

  • Sounds like a small transistor amp, very harsh IMHO...

  • sustain for days on this thing, so many tones in this bad boy! I love it!

  • Which is better in terms of versatility and quality, this or the Vox Satchurator? I'm not sure which to choose cause I wanna buy one...

  • Seyibass...

    This is the Vox Satchurator

  • Lol, sorry, i just copied and pasted my comment from another page. by 'this', i meant the Krank Distortus Maximus, which I've already got. The quality of sound for the krank is cool, but im still gonn get the satchurator whether i like it or not :D. Peace

  • Why can't anyone demo these pedals properly

They all turn the gain to 10 and it sounds like shit.

Noone in their right mind would even use it at 10 if you are looking for tone. Its a kinda noobish thing to do and majority of pedals sound shit maxed out. its fact.

  • not my Hotcake, bitches.

    sounds perfect from 0-10.

  • my Satchurator didnt work but im getting another on monday. It ate up all my tone and there was feedback even when the volume on the guitar was off!! SOOOOOOOOOO PISSED OFF REALLY WANTED 1

  • @benno369 then you don't know how to use it or something is wrong with your setup/guitar

  • it works fine now with the new one i got the first one they sent me was faulty. amazing pedal 10/10

  • they sent me a new one and that works fine the first one WAS faulty. The second one is amazing 10/10 for everything!!

  • Great =D

  • Is this pedal much different than any other distortion? I've already got an MD-2 from boss. I love Joe's sound, but I can't quite get it from the MD-2, even if I use an EQ.. I'm not quite sure if it'll be much different if I use this pedal,

  • @K3vinJC if you are talking boss stomp boxes to an overdrive/distortion pedal there's a difference of tone flexibility with have the light overdrive to boost clean, be a channel, or thicken up a solo tone. distortion, specially boss distortion, just makes it sound like a tin can.

  • Con esos demos tan malos dañan el producto que muestran.

  • You must drive yourself insane as you search for things about everyone you see to get on your nerves. Belittling others doesn't raise your status. Just being from Canada is a point against someone to you, LOL !

  • I must say that why they demo all stuff with 100% setups? :o

  • i have this pedal its not great, most people send them to have them modified.also look at the gain its at full and I'm sure his amp is also gained up,can you imagine the noise going on there I'm sure hes cleaned up his video sound.I'm not pleased with this pedal.

  • its good not hearing "hey im jason spencer"

  • is that guy bad or something? maybe I'm not in on the joke.

  • @MVilorio amen brother

  • @MVilorio although this guy is WAY more annoying just skip to :32

  • @MVilorio lol at that comment:P

  • its a combination of things really, the pedal, the pickups, the guitar design, your fingers, your pickups, your cables, and being in the right place on stage (or in your room)

  • and u call your self a guitar freak........ Its mainly the settings on the amp and your distortion pedals. However set necks and woods of your guitar do play a big role. So all in all its like 70% your amp and pedals and 30% your guitar that gives you good sustain.

  • What about your hands they have a huge roll in the sound. You left that out had to intervene sorry.

  • I have just been out and bought this pedal i must say its great, although the Vox Visage (the guitar he is playing) Retails at about 2,300 so that will have alot to do with the sustain.

  • dont like teh sound, but the playing and feeedback is epic lol

  • its sounds fizzy in this demo...

  • Is this one good with pinch harmonics?

    Thanks.

  • mmm ok, i'll still try one out, but from all the demo's and reviews i've heard/read, this looks like what im after.

    Thanks for your advice.

  • in one pedal preferably, i dont mean proper compression, just something to make the notes flow

  • im seriously stuck between this and the boss metalzone. I play mostly lead, so i need something with a good amount of sustain, and perhaps compression. Any ideas?

  • sounds like a ds-1 to me.

ill stick with my 39 dollar pedal over the 150 one

  • Uffff ... I thought it's Jason Spencer again :)

He's good but when he played blues with Boss ML-2 (metalcore) i started to think he only can do the blues :)

  • nah, sounds too digital.

  • I need more bottom end than this. Will it have more on the clean channel of an egnater 20 head?

  • nice intro

  • Gady!! thanks for Fav..this video:)

I love use more Button on Satchurator, because gave more power just like (((((bomb))))), you knew what in my mind JOE:P haha LOL

  • is it the pedal that gives that crazy sustain?

  • Distortion gives some sustain, but hes also using a les paul which have a bunch of sustain already.

  • its not a les paul its a vox virage or something like that completly different guitar

  • its a les paul because it says "LES PAUL" on the headstock not because it "looks" like one. this is a vox guitar. not a les paul. PERIOD

  • Looks like a Gretch. But yeah not a Les Paul at all.

  • its not a les pAUL ........ les pauls are made by gibson and epiphone vox has never made a les paul just because the guitar is a single cutaway doesnt mean that the guitar is a les paul and its totally different its semi hollow and made out of ash and magonhy and its has different pickups so how the hell is guitar a les paul fucking retard

  • exactly

  • @budbud619 Well I agree to an extent. Allthough if you switch pickups on a les paul is it not a les paul anymore? xD

  • @budbud619 calm down and ave a cuppa t love

  • there is absolutelt no bottom end on the amp

  • it sounds completely different on any kind of amp. Joe's amp he is using this thing on is quite far from an AC30 so it is kind of understandable that it has not that much bottom end. But the AC30 has a much greater clean sound than the JSX.

If you watch my vid of the Satchurator you will hear a lot of bottom end, i use it with a Laney head which has EL34s in the power section.

  • five VOX and five thousand guitarist

  • Wow the sustain on that thing is so crazy.

  • You can get that kind of sustain on almost any amp if you just crank the volume a bit :)

  • This demo sucks. that pedal does NOT sound anything like in this video. It sound a 1000 times better! It sounds so lifeless in this video. I have Satcurator and i just love it. Best distortion pedal ever!

  • Do you really think this distortion pedal is better than Vai's jimini or the Boss or MXR?

    Thanks.

  • I do really think that this is better than any of BOSS, MXR or the Vai pedal. But you know, thats just my opinion. Everybody can think what they think about the Satchurator, but i personally think its the best.

  • Agreed. I like Steve more as a musician, but this pedal destroys the Jemini. And when you think its about half the cost and looks better, and the list goes on and on.

  • Joe also isn't a egotistical douchebag like Vai is. Sure Vai is extremely good at playing, but Id hate to meet him in real life.

  • I don't think you read what I said properly lol. I just said I like Steve's music more, but the Satchurator > Jemini by a long shot :)

  • Dirty sound. :p And not keeping ''up'' the highs cleanly. :p

  • This is the best demo i've seen of this pedal so far.

  • rip it up brutha!... im gonna get one of theses things fo sho my ho

  • lol at about 4:00 he kept doing summer song stuff, but changing it. this is one sick guitarist man.

  • ya... really thats crazy

  • okay you win the war on semantics, yes tube overdrive, you know what i meant brah

  • yep, sounds like a distortion pedal...boo...nothing beats a great tube amp distortion

  • Ya, I just picked up a JCM 800 Kerry King marshall head and that thing has incredible built in overdrive...The button is called "The beast" and it Kills my Keeley modded tube screemer for chrise sakes

  • sounds good for a solid state pedal.

  • the only thing to kik is that pedal.. yee kikn it throw the window :D lmao

  • what that numbers here? that 900 under me...what are you yapping about here hm?

  • would dis effect sound gud on a solid state amp?

  • This one goes to 11.

  • 9000?

  • Haha, took him forever to get it to start feeding back

  • Yeah, but man that was a long sustain before it finally did.

  • cool playing!!!

  • personally i don't really like joe satch but this pedal...

    good it really is

  • just got my satchurator and it sucks. After all I've heard and read I'm disappointed.Playing a strat w/ an EMG 85 in the bridge into the vox into an epiphone 5wt tube amp Cant get shit but a crappy ass fuzz sound, NOT the kick ass sound I heard on the GW review Its also noisy as hell Anybody with similar? HELP

  • Its probably your amp man...5w? get a 30 watt tube, Mesa boogie is amazing, or I recommend the Peavey Classic 30 for blues of classic rock tones

  • mon the MARSHALL!!

  • only problems with the marshalls (solid state marshalls have HORRIBLE Distortion) the tubes are AMAZING but of course...pricey

  • wattage doesnt mean sound quality mate :/.

  • 5 watt tube amp!!!!!!!!? Sheesh Dude what do you expect?

  • Huh. Is the 5w amp an Epiphone Valve Jr. by any chance? I just demo'd a satchurator on one of those and it seemed to sound pretty good. A Strat with active pickups would be pretty hot, have you tried messing with the pad switch? May not help.. but it's worth a try.

Then again I guess this comment was two months ago so you've probably either figured it out or sold the unit by now. Heh.

  • this pedal is absolutely nasty

  • I'd like to hear it with a clean amp setting ... 3:28

  • thats what i though so too, what a "clean" tone ...

  • I wish my dad could do this... =)

  • this pedal+delay= holy moly

  • That is a lot of vox...

  • More Vox the better

  • that guitars sustain is just amazing!

  • This guy is SO much better than Jason Spencer.

  • This guy actually uses the Bridge pickup

  • I actually liked Jason.

Not saying this dude isn't good, just saying that I liked him.

  • the exactly same one i tried is sound so much better....i dont know it because of his amp or his guitar (probably more like his amp)

i agree tho he has an amazing sustain lol

  • dont worry thats NOT what the pedal sounds like it's 10 times better in real life all there vid's sound like shit

  • Sounds like fuzzy shit.

  • Is he using the ac30 in this clip?

  • Sounds similar to what a Fender Deville can do.

  • man thats a sick pedal.

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH 2.39

  • OK I want one. Ebay here I come.

  • 2:39 is pretty sweet sweeping. This guy rocks! I wish my dad could do that!

  • that dude rocks major....

  • Great demo, it really shows what the "more" switch does

  • I think it would sound better through a Marshall with 6L6 or EL34 Power Tubes

  • He works for Vox... Why would he play a Marshall amp for the demo....DUH

  • I agree. Have you checked out Egnater? Sick amps.

  • I bought one!! Its ace! Well worth it!

  • very nice.

  • GREAT FUCKING PEDAL!!!

his playing reminds me of Paul Gilbert

  • I'm sold!!

  • what are the setting that he used at the begging where he says its joes setting

  • looks like gain is maxed out, tone is at 12 o clock and volume at 2 o clock.

  • oh my god the fucking sustain! that rapes my ds-1

  • beautiful playing and demonstrating, not only his licks but the satchurator pedal. I am definitely sold on this pedal. Gonna go drink a few beers, sleep in tomorrow, get up, have another cold beer and walk down 4 blocks to the music store and pick one up and give 'er a spin. Cheers to the crew at Vox for all their fine products. Vox "a guitar industry legend!!!!" thanks to the individual responsible for posting this clip.

  • What's this guitar man ?

    It sons beautifull

  • that's new VOX guitar

  • no its not... its a guitar released about 6 or 7 months ago by VOX

  • He's recorded a lot of other albums since 1988 dude. LOL He didn't exclusively use the DS-1 for his distortion for recording either. He also used various Soldano's, Marshall's, Cornford's, Peavey 5150's and JSX's etc etc. To say it doesn't sound like Joe is a pretty ridiculous statement. I own it, and it sure does. I don't think the guy in the vid is trying to sound like Joe either. The pedal isn't just a one trick pony to sound like Satch. You can get lots of different tones out of it.

  • I really like these kind of vids....BUT I do believe that your sound doesn't only come from the pedal. Guitar& Amp are at the core.

Satriani also uses a Expensive head and a prototype guitar. (Chrome JS1000 with Fred&PAF)

  • The JSX isn't that expensive compared with a lot of other heads. Also, he's been using the chrome guitars for a long time. They aren't prototypes. Joe has replaced the Fred in the bridge with the higher output Mo Joe in all of his touring guitars and the JS 1200 has a Joe pickup in the neck.

  • The chrome was a prototype. Only like a thousand were released because a defect had the chrome come off too easily so Ibanez stopped issuing that model of chrome guitar.

  • If a thousand were released for sale, it's not exactly a prototype anymore, is it?

  • where do you find this information? can i find any guitarist's set up?

  • What? Try Google.

  • How do think this pedal would sound through a 77 ibanez artist and peave valveking? someone answer

  • it sounded like he was playing satch boogie in the beginning

  • exactly

  • He sets it to Joes setting but it does not sounds like Joe sound at all, maybe you should use it with a Fred and Paf pickups and Vox amp does not sound like a Marshall JCM800.

  • he uses a peavy head amp that cost 1500 euro:P

  • that Kramer dude ROCKS!

  • does anyone know if this gives lot of bottom end, the notes keep their definition. I'm seeking for a versatile pedal wich I would still be able to play some heavy stuff.

  • MaxMacuer...are you serious? Why would you want it integrated into the knobs instead of having a switch? That would be SO impractical at a gig...With the switch, you can step on it to get more gain...You don't have time to tweak your pedals by hand in alive setting...Honestly, do you eat paint chips?

  • thats a good point funny too i like this pedal it sounds like a cranked marshall

  • Watch spinal tap you moron

  • Why, knob gobbler? ;)

  • yes it is. Look both red lights were on

  • i guess i wouldnt be too easy to turn the knobs while playin, dude!

  • haha great spinal tap reference...sorry these dummies dont get it..
