  • The rhythm in no. 4's middle section (C major part) sounds almost like jazz...

  • Gould is the only one who understands what Beethoven wanted for the presto

  • I've always been fond of Gould's playing style and his humming along. The 4th Bagatelle is almost prescient, bringing out a "ragtime" musical liveliness not often heard by many overly serious and stiff Beethoven interpretations.

  • For a man who focused so heavily on J.S.Bach's works throughout his musical career, he had an amazing mastery of Beethoven's works. Unlike most of his blistering speeds in Bach's material, Glenn tended to play just a bit slower a tempo than other pianists, with Beethoven's works and I love it! Almost introspective, his playing style here.
