houdini was (is) like those stunts they do in mission impossible and stuff like that. He escaped the impossible and it was real. whereas in movies, its fake and the thing is, it LOOKS fake too. He is such a legend.

Just saw a film with Guy Pearce playing Houdini, a miscast to my view. Film is ok, but not well worked on, could have been much better.

Even though Houdini took credit for the stunt, stuntman Robert Kennedy was the one to perform the trick and survive the accident...just saw it on the history channel ;)
