ECU flash gives a good jump in power. Torque steer is increased of course, but its still manageable. The extra boost is noticeable especially in 3rd gear.... solid
The sound is a little louder than I would like on the inside... it has a noticeable drone at highway speeds. I had the resonator off for about 2 years (the set-up in this video), but I put it back on because of the drone... its noticeably quieter on the highway, but I still wish I had the resonator off for Full throttle runs! Can't beat that sound
What muffler is this and did you keep the resonator(middle Muffler) I have an 06 saab 9-3 aero and i put a simonta carbon charged air intake on it and it sounds great and the turbo spool sounds awsome but id like to hear a louder exhuast. But im very happy with the tone it has.
I tested a grey '07 conv Aero with paddle, was disappointed with hard torque steering merging on highway loop. Paddle was gimmick, not like SMG or tiptronic crisp, more like steptronic 330i
today i made a test drive on a saab 93 sport 2007 200 horsepower cool ride no doubt powerfull and they dont look dumb, the lines of the car are really gorgeous!
It comes with a bypass valve... I have a BSR Optiflow intake that makes spooling and the release more audible. Also, my vector has the BSR PPC which increases the boost. The stock set up was extremely quiet
I'm getting an mp downpipe, and I already have a cold air intake. My exhaust guy is going to custom make a dual magna flow exhaust to go with it. Do you think that will sound nice or what?
You've obviously never heard a well tuned Honda VTEC 4 cylinder (such as the ones found in the civic si, prelude, s2000, acura rsx and tsx, etc) - I'm not talking about a civic dx with a trash can muffler, but a genuine performance honda - the metallic shriek let out by those engines is much much better than this (albiet this sounds ok). However, why would anyone get saab over superior german and japanese competition? There is no advantage and they look dumb. Btw, I've owned 2 saabs.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I agree that there are wonderful sounding hondas, but again, it is all personal preference. Hence, the large market for performance parts... If everyone liked the same things, we would all have the same cars. I'm not sure which saab models you have owned, but they have come a long way in the past couple years, look at the Turbo X, it is getting great reviews from the experts.
I actually got a magnaflow dual tip... it looks really nice, but i kind of wish I kept the brand consistent with borla now... The exhaust shop just welded rods onto the muffler and attached it to the existing mounts.
I don't believe so...the twin tips looks similar to the saab exhaust, but you can put any tip style you want on the muffler outlet. The muffler I have is different than the saab one.
Also, I'm not sure if the saab twin tip exhaust changes the sound much. If anyone wants to jump in on this question, please feel free.
what is a backbox? are you referring to the universal turbo mufflers they sell, and is that dual-tip borla also? if it is the universal what style (center to center, center to offset etc etc...)?
how do i get one of these exhausts!!! for real!

Anyone drive both Vector Aero 2.0L and Aero V6 and compare the torque and torque steer, etc ?
I'm in buying mood
euro944t 2 years ago
the Aero V6 torque steers like crazy, but there's far less turbo lag in it as well
DaftGear 2 years ago
How about I4 2.0 with ECU flashed up 40ft lb to nearly the V6 stock ?
Looking at Beetle Turbo S also a FWD, fit some 19" Porsche Rims on it with RS tail.

How is the sound inside? Does it ever get annoying/unbearable? Do you hear it much on the interstate? Sounds great outside!

what's a drone sound like? i had my reso removed too
hanstaILL 3 years ago
drone is low hum @ certain rpm, like a bad wheel bearing or hole in stock muffler, long trips is torture with drone.
rasp is like M3 or vtec. rattle and high pitch loud like 600cc bike, resonators are called Rasp pipe Sec 1 before cat back

Where did you get the exhaust?

This is the best sounding four-cylinder car I have ever heard. Killer. Perfect.

backbox is the same as the universal turbo muffler. The tips are not the borla dual tips, but I would get those if I did it again.

what tips did you get, and how did you brace the muffler?

is this exhaust similar to the one offered by saab themselves? i was thinking of getting one myself

hey man what kinda exhaust is that..really like..looking for one for my 93 ss

I agree, I did not want it to sound like a ricer whose exhaust echos off everything. It sounds great at idle and wot, thats all I need.

not loud enough

myeclipse03 4 years ago

QUENTINkroll37 4 years ago

Yes, they came with the 2.0 liter + High output turbo

I mean, I know it has the 2.0t...haha. I wanted the one with the 2.8 V-6...but I can't afford it. Either way, I know I'll enjoy the car!

Did Vectors have the 2.0 liter turbo?
