I'm beginning to have a hard time with less than middle-age actors playing V&E. They can't erase their vigor and their health. When I was DiDI at a far too young age, we tried to think about Civil War verterans -- young but spent. Young faces don't work. Sam B. did like characher actors, however. I don't want to write on ... Well, it would depend on who's playing the roles. If the kid is a good actor for his age, and can portray middle age, then it's fine. But it really really difficult. I'm 22 years old and I've been in high school, community shows where I've played middle aged men. It is really difficult, but it is possible. And besides, it's high school, and there is risk involved when your doing a show like this with young people.
Too bad they didn't film the one that Robin Williams and Steve Martin did in the 80's..

beckett, like shakespeare requires english/irish/british in some way. its all to do with the language and the vowel sounds and the rhythm

I all honesty, this is one of the better performences of the play on YouTube. I prefer it to the B&W version from Beckett Directs Beckett.
