Did I just read someone saying Hetfield is a great singer? I think I'm stuck in a state of permanent facepalm. He's an excellent writer, but my no means a good singer. He simply gets the job done.
@bejerama hetfield was sooo beyond his time. He has one of the most reconizable voices of all time, His vocal style has evolved into what we hear in metal today.

This band is going to be huge! They are so tight musically, the lyrics are killer, riffs that melt your face. This is seriously the first band to give me chills in about 20 years. They have so many different styles that they take from but make them work seamlessly. I can't wait to see these guys live. I think the world has found a band that Metallica will one day pass the torch to.

@PooPoo2U I don't think Load and ReLoad aren't better than St.Anger and Death Magnetic. So it's not that Newsted did them any good. Newsteds live performances were killing though

American Tour, so you're "moving on to better times....like Volbeat" because of bands like Metallica. They were heavy influences for not only them, but SOO many other insane bands today. Black Album was commercialized shit. EVERY SONG on that album has been so overplayed it's now just annoying to hear. Honestly, I've been listening to Megadeth way more than Metallica because after that stunt with Lou Reed, they've lost a lot of their credibility.

However, I just discovered this band yesterday because they're advertised with Megadeth on tour, and you're absolutely right. And to the rest of you who just had to argue and say Cliff instead of Newstead, listen, Cliff was great. But being dead doesnt make him superior. Newstead was Metallica's best bass player. Yes I just said that.
@Jayhoyt32: I agree, Newsted was far superior technically to Burton. Burton was like a guitarist who was handed a bass and told to figure it out, while Newsted simply knows his way around 4 and 5 strings.
I think what these idiots below fail to realize is that "the bassist I like more" and "the bassist who is better" are two totally different things.
