  • at least lee iocoaa had the balls to stand up to the japanese and set them on their ass

  • @dalekrueger yeah he did!! chrylser had record sales back then with these cars that gm, ford, and the imports only had wet dreams selling as many vehicles!!! There was a identity crisis with them almost everything built was on the k car chassis but Iacocca made a point about " honda and toyota were doing the same thing sharing components and chassis platforms to save money that's what makes the imports profitable to this day and it worked for chrylser back then!!!

  • quality lol!

  • Theres about 50 Lancers/LeBaron GTSs on the road today.

  • @queensplazasouth

I had one. It was a very well-built car.

  • Chrysler is history.

  • Well 4 weeks later, CHRYSLER IS STILL HERE.

  • Chrysler is certainly still here, but it's a shadow of the company it was when Iacocca brought back it from the brink and gave it a reason to exist, which is exemplified by a modest, yet highly effective slogan that was used back then: "the competition was good, we had to be better."

Sadly, you don't see this initiative and leadership from those now at the reigns of Chrysler.

You also don't see it at General Motors.

Only Alan Mulally at Ford seems to at least have some idea of what to do.

  • And here we are, 25 years later, and nothing has changed. Good riddance, Chrysler.

  • The Voyager/Caravan was HOT!

  • Now THAT is a good commercial.

  • This man is my idol. i read his autobiogrophy, great guy, if it werent for him we wouldnt have quality in this country anymore.

  • Way to go. Iacocca was a good man. He put Chrysler in the right direction and made Chrysler how it should be.

  • Yeah, its my dream to run Chrysler, id bring back all the things he had and more if i could......sadly im only 16 hahaha

  • Thanks for your support. I will wish you will.

  • No problem, and yes me to, someday i will get that chance, and when i do i will make it even greater than ever

  • Will if you get that chance work on bringing back Plymouth. It was a great car brand.

  • I will, i love there old cars......so many of them iconic and the reliability! some of the best cars ever....and of course id bring back a few classic muscle cars......ive always wanted to bring back the Dart and offer it in a Fuel Efficent version to an R/T version with the 5.7 Hemi, 2 or 4 door, i think itd seel great since itd be so compact.....but thats just my dreams haha

  • @Charger3091 compact car with a v8? call it a dart, Chrysler is designing the Dodge Demon, supposed to take on the Honda S2000 and obliterate the Mazda MX-5 Miata in the compact roadster convertable line.

  • There bringing back the demon? And that'll be quite a feat, id like to see some concept sketchups of it

  • Its funny because this company is now part of a German consortium. The day the Chinese start exporting cars is the day Detroit dies forever.

  • Chrysler is now an independent company. Daimler sold Chrysler awhile ago. Have you been paying attention at all tis past year?

  • detroit is never going to die

  • i hope not

  • The small car he refers to near the end of the ad is the Dodge Shadow/Plymouth Sundance.

  • I don't know about 'cutting the mustard' anymore, as long as America doesn't 'cut the cheese' LOL

  • Lee A. Iacocca, the father to the Ford Mustang.

  • Fraudman knew how to sell a car back in the day...

  • Lee A. Iacocca... I was wondering what his name was cause he seems to have appeared in tons of 1980s Dodge/Plymouth commercials.
