great video!!!! People are obsessed with shooters. I myself am indeed a 'girl gamer' but my love is mainly for old school games and survival horror, such as silent hill.
I have definitely been judged by my friends for not playing COD:MW 2 & 3 or Halo, b/c when I'm asked what games I play I say Sims and Mortal Kombat I always get talked down to because Sims "isn't a real game" & they totally ignore the fact that I play MK. I would definitely classify myself as a Casual/Girly Game, I play for fun and when I have free time. But the dumbest thing is my friends tell me how dumb it is to buy things from the Sims store, when they are in fact buying maps...like really!?
I'm a gamer :) Used to play a lot more, now I fall more under the "Casual Gamer" status. I remember when I was the cool girl at my school because I played video games. I don't think anyone has ever really told me I wasn't a gamer, based on the games I played, though I have gotten some guff for preferring Killzone over Halo ;)

I tell them that it's all about the feeling, not the graphics. And they go, Uuh you don't have any idea what you are talking about. Or even I show them a game, they either go. This looks cool. Well the games you play reflect your personality and tastes. So if someone likes a game you don't like for example I dislike WoW because it's just a boring leveling up game with quests that aren't all that fun without many story plots and I can't understand why so many people want to have sex with it.. well I judge you as a gamer (obviously after a selection of games you play) because I personally think its crap and I'd much rather play a similar RPG like dragon age.

It would be so much better if people would just stop hating. COD players are a different breed. And by COD players I mean the people who only play COD and nothing else. It's those people who believe the only game worth playing is said franchise and therefore subject others to the "you don't count if you don't like the same things I like" mentality. Seriously, why can't we all just get along?

Gamer Classifications are based on the Player not the Game. I.e "Hate the Player not the Game." Noob bashing with total pwnage can go hand and hand with any game there is human interaction. Trash talking in Mario Cart isn't likely, but then agian you haven't played with me.
Hardcore Gamers are generally Masters of their trade, mostly skill based games: Sports, FPS, MMORP and Racing.
However, anyone playing a game is a Gamer. The type of Gamer you are, is base on how you play.

And like you said we're all gamers, and people are different so why would you be classed as a gamer if you play this specific game or not. Not everyone likes the same things, not everyone loves Call of Duty just like not everyone loves cars or girls. ;)
I'm an 18 year old guy and I like Racing, RPG, and Music games the best and to be honest I suck at First Person Shooters and not a big fan of them but some younger guy friends judge me that I say that. What they don't understand is not everybody likes Call Of Duty and Halo(I don't like either of those). I don't know why people say "Real Gamers" play Call Of Duty, Halo, World Of Warcraft. I mean like you said there are all kinds of video games that cater to everyone's taste and btw you're pretty.

If anyone was not a "gamer" it is the people who play Call of Duty.
As I am a kid (well teen) I get judged for liking older consoles and collecting them.
