i used to play this on my ps2 and was my third football game that I bought for a console following NES Football (1990), NCAA Football 2004 for PS2, and this one. I tried Madden before on my cuz' Saturn (97). Great game, and far better than later versions. They should bring back EA Sports Bio instead of the EA Sportsworld crap...at least starting with 10 they now have trophies for ps3. 2k is still good at sports games...they need to get nfl back from ea.

This actually inspired me to put 2004 back in and play it, and start a franchise with my favorite team, the Steelers. I like to play on default difficulty, and on the new Maddens, I usually win every game by 50 points. Maybe it's because Madden was made more competitive back then, or maybe it's just that the Steelers were mediocre at the time, but on 04 I find myself playing close games and winning or losing by a TD.

Starting in 06 I believe, they tried to make owner mode 'politically correct' by replacing beer with coffee. XD As if kids don't know that football fans drink during games, silly Madden developers.
