I find it interesting, the idea of different labeling on these numbers... My Dover edition, indeed, has misprinted this as etude number 5, and has a 'number 4' in D minor preceding it. I wonder what other editions call it.
I have the complete Russian sheet of Opus 33 and 39 if that makes you feel at ease. All the numberings of the Etudes that I uploaded are corect. I checked most publishers just in case and the these numberings are still the "corect" ones. And to the other people: How can this be mayor for Rachs sake!!!!!!!
I will play it the next year. All compositions I played( except one concert (yet) in April) has got my father "kcotsob"

The d minor etude belongs to Op.33 No.4, but it used to belong to Op.33 No.5, untill the original Op.33 No.4 was moved to Op.39 No.6, actually.

No, This is Etude-tableau Op.33 No.5 in E-flat minor. No.6 goes in E Flat Major, And this isn´t major
