  • 4:15.. that should have been on espn's top ten

  • Crazy video I got of a guy rioting and looting /watch?v=eWU_oO8J7Lw

  • i wish they make swat dogs they'll probably run for thier lives

  • Hey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your block party is mentioned in this song!

New Shepherds "Can't dream in a Police State"

  • @xHeRoiiNxPSN I've been the victim of two violent crimes I called police both times and both times they did not care it took them an hour to get to me. The story is too long and too hard to explain on the internet, but basically my point is police are not here to protect and save individuals but to enforce the law

  • theyre not BLACK !!!!

  • 2:11 Nice hat douchebag

  • How did they not SWARM?

ON all the them wearing dark blue iniform?

They could have thrown down for the hood.

But instead some guy dose a flying attack?

Yea man, the tables could have easily turned had one man had the nutz.

  • wow, a sht load of ppl and a huge police presence? but wait there is no black people? o yea thts right this is a university, if this were a ghetto, like chicago, or philly, there would have been like 10 murders,

  • next time you get robbed or rape dont call 911 fucking losers

  • Fuck the police.

  • wow.....um...my college .w.

  • Not everyone from Western i like this in fact a lot of thee people didn't even go here

  • police state

  • Obviously kids shouldn't be like this ridiculous and burn shit and leave trash everywere, but riot police? I mean honestly. Abuse of authority. Fuck the police.

  • on my second tour overseas.....glad to see this is what I'm fighting for!

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, without a doubt, a few bad characters acted out. No question. Police should have taken swift action against them.

This party reminds me of Kearney Cruise Night in Kearney, Nebraska. People party. The next day all the trash get picked up. Get over that point.

    Riot police? Excessive. Completely.

People that have accepted this as a tolerable action of the police, have lost their minds. Using an LRAD on college students inside their homes? Unacceptable.

  • The dude that gets tackled at 4:20 is badass.

  • What a disgrace. I attended WIU in 1985 - 89. We partied, but this is disgraceful to watch. The disrespect for personal property and property of the city. Wow! I remember attending parties with hundreds of people. No one left trash around such as this. No one tore down stop signs, and disrespected the city. We had massive parties, but were respectful and smart enough to not infringe upon the city, vandalize property, and act in such a despicable manner. I am saddened at the trash.

  • @susanmc38 I know! This is why the Police came! Look at the place! It look's like a 3rd world country. Garbage and shit all over the place. This is why they have the Alcohol age limit at 21, even at 21 these "adult's" are still acting like they are 14, 15 year's old. If the legal age limit for Alcohol ever goes up to, let's say 25 yrs old. It will be these dumbasses to blame.

  • MOVER YOUR FINGER!!!! dick

  • I heard 3000 people were there, but let's say there were 2000.

89 people got tickets, so about 100

    100/2000 = 5%

Big deal. It is naive and foolish to generalize all students at WIU when such a small number acted out.

  • so proud...so proud.

  • O-ver-kill: The amount by which destruction or the capacity for destruction exceeds what is necessary.

  • @megatrollwarlock Of course the 3-4 police officers there didn't intervene. There were hundreds of drunken college students around them. You don't think that they would have gotten pelted by beer bottles had they stepped in? It would have been a dangerous move for them to try to handle that situation alone.

  • @rickrizzle47 Actually the streets aren't free to drink in. Or block. Both of which occurred at this "party." Yes, you have the right to peaceably assemble, but there was nothing peaceful about this. The police were right to do what they did. They saw people breaking the law, and they stopped it. End of story.

  • Here little piggy. SUUUUUEY!! SUUUUEY!!!

  • the story here is police brutality...

In America you can assemble wherever the fuck you feel like it. Our streets are free.

FUCK THESE POLICE...... bunch of pussy bitches

  • I'll admit. I watch it several times to watch dumbass people get what they ask for.

  • if western is #3 party school whats 1 and 2?

  • Comment removed

  • The cops at Western think thier a bunch of cowboys and nothing ever happens in macomb so they go around trying to make up as many excuses so they can arrest people so they feel bas ass and can use all their new equiptment. I agree some people needed to get arrested for burning shit and breaking the stop sign but talk about overkill jesus christ.

  • Epic party. Never got my party busted by riot police. Then again I tried to keep the fires to a minimum... Epic

  • @XXxCrucialxXX If you are going to go as petty as using your signal, then I'm not sure arguing with you is worth it, because half the people on the road don't do that. And going 5-10 miles over the speed limit is also an acceptable social norm. As for the "innocents" that got maced, being part of a group associated with crimes and refusing to disperse from such group when ordered by law enforcement IS a crime, thus calling for justice from the law. Then when they run, they get what they deserve.

  • End tyranny. Ron Paul 2012. Things are going to get much worse with the kind of leadership that's produced these kids. Let's get back to our foundations, get rid of the Department of Education, and put schooling back into the hands of the local school boards and parents (and can you try and stay together parents...married that is?) Ron Paul 2012 cards now at ronaldernestpaul (.) com

  • the guy that tackled the cop at 4:11 is my sisters friend

    :p

  • @jakeaustin19 haha

  • you ppl make me laugh! campus is 20 feet from wheeler and to say that this party didnt have students at it is absolutely retarded. the ppl sayin that are the dumb freshmen that thought they would actually get in trouble for going and pussed out. the non students who are at this party are mostly alumni or seniors in high school that are goin to western next year! this is western, if ya dont like it, go somewhere else!

  • all the assholes who were throwing bottles deserve whatever they got and more. there were hundreds of people throwing bottles at the cops and taunting them by shouting "fuck the police", and then they bitch and moan about the police making some arrests.

  • @camaro76 i dont understand y u have support for police what have they ever directly done for you. now ill admit i have a prejudice to the police because ive been a victim from criminals and the police didnt help me. but the level the police acted at threatens our rights as americans

  • @whambola they arrested some of the dumbasses who were throwing bottles near me. one of them hit my dog. were you actually at the wheeler block party?

  • @camaro76 I was there the entire day (I didnt throw bottles) but i saw people who threw bottles get arrested and i'm sorry about your dog, thats just as shitty when the one officer sprayed the girl and her puppy

  • where does it say that western is ranked 3rd for top party colleges?

  • haha this shit is to funny i had a great time because i had enough common sense to watch from a distance. I remember watching the fire start and then once the stop sign came down i was just waiting for the riot police to come. I didn't expect anymore or any less from them. As for the townies its one day a year this shit happens to this extent so chill will be out of your hair in a week so you can have your farmking and cornfields back.

  • Glad I went home this weekend because I would been there because I never been to one and I never will this is crazy. I experienced racism down here and if I was here I would of been kicked out of school if I got arrested thats why I stay 2 myself and go to class.

  • Parents must be so proud to see what there kids are doing.

  • @SLSLAWOFFICE hurting for business, trolling.

  • Where's the water cannons, now that would be funny.

  • This makes me embarrassed to be a WIU Alumni. I was here visiting for wheeler block party and left just before this happened. I had to see it to believe it so i watched this video. The next day people actual said shit like "What those cops did was out of line." Umm no, you have thousands of drunk retards throwing bottles and lighting shit on fire. What do you expect to happen?

  • WIU is the ghetto of illinois state universities

  • @thatsnotmickeymouse You are just another ignorant person who thinks that WIU makes Macomb. Macomb would not become another Good Hope because Macomb is the center for all of the small communities around it. Companies like NTN Bower and Pella offer jobs to half of the residents of the McDonough county, not just Macomb. Also, if the campus is bad enough that people should avoid living there, don't you think that says something about the quality of people that attend such an event?

  • I graduated from WIU in 2009. Sure, it was a party school when I attended. It makes the current city I am in, a small college town merely double the size of Macomb, seem like nothing at all. The city partially addressed the student partying issues through adopting restrictive ordinances that fines the hosts of parties. Police reports still show parties are prevalent around campus. I can only wonder how long it will be before Macomb decides to fine the hosts of these parties.

  • why dont you guys bitch some more.....and tell me the cops werent loving this. They live for this shit

  • 4:17 where the dude gets layed out is hysterical

  • how may years has wheeler been going on and this has never happened? was it really necessary ? i understand the police and swat were doing their job, but they were causing more of a scene then we were. having them there caused people act out more than usual.this is not the point of wheeler, not to mention not everyone who was there was causing problems.

  • @she8u2st yes, so correct. It was obviously the cops fault. Duhhhhhhhhh I need a education.

  • Wow, I am very disappointed on how dumb people are at Western. Let's all go burn stuff and get drunk.......dumbasses

  • @MyMike1023 It isn't that people at WIU are dumb, it is that the people who are dumb are the ones who end up on camera. Besides, more entertainment comes from watching stupid people hurt themselves than smart people not hurt themselves. Just consider this a modern day form of evolution; many stupid people got arrested and maced.

  • @MyMike1023 The thing you didn't know was that the police stood beside the guys who threw a bike on a stop sign and lit a fire. It was like 3-4 guys. They could've intervened right then and prevented the situation from escalating, but they did nothing. Then they got an excuse to put on their stormtrooper suits and beat up hipsters.

  • @MyMike1023 id be down for all that.

  • @MyMike1023 forget burning stuff, but lets go get drunk.

  • @coldpizzarules I think he was being sarcastic. :v

  • @MyMike1023 yeah people keep saying "it's a police state OMG!!", well it's not, this isn't even close to a police state, in fact people have too many rights here and this isn't near north Korea, china or any other totalitarian state, man people in America are over reacting, not the damn cops.

  • I go to WIU frequently early on Sunday mornings. The campus is constantly trashed because of the students. We need WIU because of the employment it provides, but for real, come here students, get your fuckin education, and grow the flying fuck up! The town doesnt belong to you. Respect it. ps...if one of these idiots had hurt one of OUR local cops with the bottle throwing antics, we would have released hells fury on who we thought did it~

  • How many geniuses just got expelled with a week left in the school year?

  • @davecober From what I've heard from the cops a lot of law enforcement students graduating in 2weeks got arrested for Aggre.Bat on Police officers. 4 years of education and you degree just became useless with 2weeks left how smart

  • why is the name wheeler

  • @MrMagoch If you saw in the video there was a street sign that said Wheeler

  • This video makes me embarrassed to call WIU my alma mater

  • What a bunch of ignorant morons.

  • omg, what the hell happened? how did this start?

  • looks like a blast! wish i could live there!

  • @falcor671 Agreed. Macomb is perfectly fine without WIU. As for @livineasy155420 You just proved my point about wiu students, with your lack of intelligence reagarding insults and punctuation. Really, calling me a dick? Please keep your ignorant mouth shut about my town. If you don't like it here, leave. And you can take Buffalo Wild wings with you when you do.

  • I watched this hoping drunk college students would back up their tough talk and was deeply disappointed.

  • According to the Macomb Police Department, approximately 104 citations were issued to 89 individuals as of May 1. Of those, nearly 50 percent were non-WIU students, and several more nonstudents engaged in yesterday's inappropriate and illegal behaviors. The vast majority of our nearly 11,000 Macomb campus students does not participate in such events and truly represents the high caliber of students we have at WIU.

^ is from Pres. Goldfarb. Clearly it's not only WIU students you fuckin twat

  • @zucky22389 That's called a false statement to make your school look better.

  • @hknation1 Why would he make up these statistics? Don't be ignorant. People come here from all over the area, disrespect our town, and the students get the blame for it. It's not hard to understand

  • @zucky22389 To sound smart, which he clearly isn't so shut the fuck up.

  • MOST students at this school are immature just like at any other school. I myself didnt go to wheeler block party because i already knew wat the outcome would be. You're not too smart yourself if you went.

  • faggot college students, i remember when i had my first beer

  • Hey tyler cummings. stfu. why dont you learn about something before you post/comment? Wheeler or any other party at WIU has never ended like this. So sip your haterade elsewhere. WIU dont want you.

  • @trojanman532 The SWAT was there before it started because they warned the students not to do it. I lived in Macomb 20 years. It is always horrible. The police knew that it was going to be like it is every year, and wanted to shut it down before it got out of control again. But leave it up to the drunken fools at WIU to make a bad situation worse.

  • @falcor671 if it wasnt for WIU, macomb would be another shit hole just like good hope. The university supports half the town with jobs. Sorry to ruin your "perfect" little town. If nonstudents live on wheeler, they got what they deserve, they shouldnt live so close to campus, its been here for 100 years.....

  • @bbdb921 The video didn't show the fires and property damage that comes from this event. That is why the SWAT was called in.

  • hahahaha wat a hate crime

  • @livineasy155420 You obviously do not know anything about Macomb then. You're not the first person to argue this on this video. Look up NTN Bower. Look up Pella Corporation. Among the best in the United States in what they do. And where are they located again? Oh that's right, Macomb. So don't act like WIU is the saving grace of Macomb. It is not. Besides, BWW sucks so much. One of the worst restaurants in Macomb if you ask me.

  • @CubsRule06 Cubs suck

  • @SLSLAWOFFICE omg really? advertise somewhere else. Do you need clients THIS badly???

  • dude got trucked

  • SWAT TEAM WAS THERE BEFORE WHEELER STARTED SO SHUT THE FUCK UP, THE POLICE STARTED A RIOT ON THERE OWN.

  • I have never been so glad that I had too much fuckin homework to go to this.from what i saw from the aftermath of this both sides where in the wrong at different points. I can't wait to get my ass away from here and graduate..i came here for my education not to watch a bunch of idiots ( cops and students alike ) act like there in some 3rd world country ..Come on your in Macomb IL, of all places, don't act like this is such a big deal that it's going to be seen on CNN.

  • so why was the SWAT team called in??? I watched another video that was more about the block party, and I didn't see anything wrong...just kids having a good time. Granted, these parties are really wild, but a riot??

  • I remember last year at Wheeler seeing a kid engulfed in flames jump out of a two story window.... WIU is a fucking mad house sometimes.

  • @DanimalCollective I was at wheeler last year and definitely didn't see any kid engulfed in flames jumping out of a two story window. Did anyone else see that?

  • @leatherneck2013 maybe it was a street down on Pierce or Murray but I saw it on my way to Campus Point or Manor... I forget which is by Tanner.

  • the fact that swat came in is gonna be soo counter productive... it's gonna be so much worse next year now

  • Funny people are shouting "Fuck the Police" but when something bad happens get robbed, jumped anything you call the same Cops. The Cops only acted the way the did because they were being attacked, throwing bottles at the Cops (one got hit in the face). And breaking down a stop sign and burning it how mature it is to destroy public property ( thats a felony). I'm a student at western and I say if the cops came at you at wheeler you deserved it. Thanks idiots no more wheeler, a good thing ruined

  • Besides, most people who have attended "Wheeler Block Party" visit from out of town

  • Shut up people. Who cares if it's a "party school". EVERYONE pays an insane amount of money these days for their education and I don't think it matters where you go to school. There will always be some immature people who shouldn't drink. I live in this town and I could easily say not ALL people from Macomb are idiots.. Just a very large amount are...

  • I'm ashamed to say I went to Western. This is just sad and pathetic.

  • Fucking immature idiots... shit like this is why I left Western. "Hyuckyuckyuck this is awesome dude!!!" Morons.

  • Well fuck all you people, I'm going there next year and i couldnt be more excited.

You're never going to get rid of the "Party School" reputation.

If it really offends you so much maybe you should go to a school you dont loath?

Maybe look at the school you're going to spend 4 years at and tens of thousands of dollars on before you just jump in...

  • @ellynmellyn Maybe you shouldn't be so excited until you've actually ATTENDED and know what you're talking about. Two years at Western was the biggest waste of time I've ever spent. So glad I actually attend a self-respecting school now (Roosevelt University). But then again maybe you'll fit right in with this immaturity! If so, I'm sure you'll have the time of your life! Yay

  • Nobody was doing anything wrong until the cops started pissing everybody off. It was kinda like smacking a big bee hive. Of course the bees are going to get pissed off.

  • @JCorley33 -Hmmmm. Bees have a purpose: what exactly was the purpose of this? Sorry bees for J Corley33- I appreciate your hard work and dedication to your community, home and family.

  • Thumbs up for K-Mac aka AMO fucking with the cops mid way through the video. my nigga

  • wit is a shithole in its self and makes itself look bad being that its rankd 3rd in the country as a party school.. also making macomb the number 1 seller of keystone.. y dnt u talk to ur fellow students about the way they r! my camera doesnt lie.. the STUDENTS were the ones makin the school look bad by burning cameras.. just goes to show that the lame ass college students cant handle there alcohol.. this shit goes on every year and ends the exact way

  • @tylercummings24 We can't handle our alcohol, and you can't handle the English language.

  • @tylercummings24 maybe u should have went to college and you would have learned had to use grammar you stupid fuck. were you there probably not you fuck

  • Comment removed

  • @tylercummings24 what's "wit"? and if you're against it, then why were you there?

  • @kaabizzle - I see this list of so called "party schools"- yet I still ask- how is one to measure such an unstable and inmeasurable status? If this was a fact and thus a statistic that was or could be validated- how would one do so? (BTW- loved my degree and my experiences at WIU and I did so without "partying") Thank you for posting this- it is nice for people to seek valid information rather than uninformed opinions spoken in the dark :-)

  • Educated idiots

  • Educated idiots

  • You should submit this to worlds dumbest.

  • Just submitted my housing for WIU, I think I may have to reconsider NIU after seeing this...

  • @FunnyHalo3Production we get it, you've posted this on every other video of the wheeler street debacle

  • @FunnyHalo3Production Yeah, because I mean, whats a few shootings an a murder compared to some pepper spray at a block party?? NIU has it's fair share of problems too...

  • Comment removed

  • As another person commented, this school has the reputation of being recognized nationwide for the amount of quality Criminal Justice Majors (and other related majors) that they produce. I wonder how many at the riot were attempting to receive that degree? You would think that as college educated students they would have learned by now that freedom of assembly and any other right granted in the constitution cannot infringe upon someone else's rights. Just because you want to assemble in the mid

  • Oh and when the multiple people attacked the guy towards the end I like how the police officer has a gun in his hand...that's cool.

  • @emrocks404 it's a taser gun moron.

  • The police in these videos make me feel less safe. If there wasn't police and the SWAT team there I feel like the "riot" wouldn't have been or less than it was. Once you bring the police in they are going to cause more damage than they would if they weren't there. And I feel like there is no respect from the towns people either. You won't get any if we don't have any.

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you tylercummings24.. our school is already struggling to get enough students so that we can even stay open and now you have given access to a video like this to perspective students/their parents. If you were smart, you would delete it, but apparently you're not because you were the one standing in the tear gas with a camera.

p.s. Many students weren't at this, so please stop saying we were. We're just as embarrassed.

  • @cheerpunkin2007 there were several thousand people there however and the fact that he posted this really does nothing. if not him, there are many others already online or being uploaded right now. msnbc picked up the story as well. you can't blame him for posting this.

  • @IveKilled4Less01 then blame everyone for posting a video of it. Every little bit tarnishes our reputation. This isn't what WIU is all about, and not all of those several thousands of people were WIU students. People only remember the bad things, they don't think about all of the fundraisers and everything we do. I'm not saying this stupid event was justified, I'm just saying don't judge us solely on this. At least not all of us.

  • @Durnaur387 Exactly. When you come to WIU, you come for a degree and probably liver damage. Which is a very sad thing. I have seen far too many people ruin themselves because the social habits at WIU.

  • I can indeed say that a large number of people there were underage. A fair share of my former classmates were there. All together, it was a bad day for everyone. WIU, Macomb, everyone. But it says something that this event is one of the most well known things about WIU.

  • @XXxCrucialxXX And what laws would those be that the MPD have broken?

  • @falcor671 where do I begin? The use of a turn signal when switching lanes is a law correct? The signs along the side of the road that have numbers on them that say Speed Limit is a law correct? Spraying someone in the face with pepper spray/mace when they don't have a weapon, aren't showing any signs of violence or they are just standing there, is assault, therefore is against the law. Slamming people to the ground when nothing is really that serious, is unnecessary. The list goes on

  • @2012wiu You obviously don't know anything about Macomb then. Do you realize that NTN Bower is one of the world's leading manufacturers of bearing products to OEMs, distributors, and end users. And that Pella is one of America's leading window manufacturers? So yes, Macomb could very much survive without WIU. Also, you may be of age, but I can almost guarantee to you that half the students at that party were not of age.

  • Comment removed

  • You are either going to hate this or you support it. Whatever your reason, either way, agree to disagree. All it takes is a few bad actions to spur on the anger of every other person living wherever you happen to be. Sure, Macomb is a small town, but I grew up in one way smaller. Don't make a fool of yourself by saying your the saving grace of a small town. Don't be a jerk about someone's school of choice. Cry me a river, Justin, and then get over it. ^.^

  • @2012wiu Without you, we'd have our beloved town, minus ten thousand condescending drunken suburbanites, bitchign about the lack of malls, and crying that they don't know how to wash clothes, or make money without their allowance from their parents.

  • Comment removed

  • I laugh at all these lame ass comments talking about how bad the students acted & how the police did what they should have. Macomb Police break every law known to man & get away with it. I wish the kids wouldn't have backed down, that would have been a better show.

  • @2012wiu You make the point of macomb locals judging wiu, and then judge the locals. I've lived in macomb my whole life, and while you say the town is worst in the summer, it's the best for us. It may be 25% that are constantly causing trouble, but what do the rest of the student body do? Your answer: nothing. Now, please quit insulting my town. If you you're only in town for an education, you can go to another school. WIU is a party school, and macomb is better without the student body.

  • @Durnaur387 Macomb would be non existent if it was not for the students because the town would not make money, or have dick. It is because of these asshole cops that you guys make half of the money in this town anyways, so you should be grateful that their attention is on us instead of all of the meth labs in this hick piece of shit town. oh, and you can thank us for Buffalo Wild Wings too dick!

  • @2012wiu Are you kidding me? I know people go there for education. But they also go to get wasted every weekend. And most people who get an "education" there are law enforcement or physical training majors. Like those are really tough to learn while you are hungover. Don't call me narrow minded if you're the one who can't see that the vast majority of the people that go to WIU are drunken fools. Macomb is great when college is not in. Less idiots and such running about.

  • Comment removed

  • Just another reason why I can't wait to graduate from this shithole in less than 2 weeks time. Idiots.

  • I lived in Macomb for 20 years. I grew up around WIU and went there for 2 years before transferring to U of I. And all I have to say is that getting out was the best day of my life. WIU is a joke. 90% of the students just go there to party. People say the police were horrible here, I'd say after having seen crap like this my whole life, these people deserve everything they got. I am sorry for the people that lived nearby that had to deal with it, but you let it happen in the first place.

  • @falcor671 you must be a Macombie homie seeing how narrow minded you are. 90%? I went there for an education, believe me there would be no other reason for me to be in that town

  • @2012wiu I am a "Macombie homie" and I am very open minded. You must be from the Chicago area seeing how you call out smaller towns for no reason..especially when you moved to it...dumbass

  • Comment removed

  • As a student who has given a lot to this town and campus I am sad that the President who hire such ruthless police men who IN NO WAY WHO THERE TO PROTECT AND SERVE THE COMMUNITY. What we saw today is something we will continue to see, ITS CALLED A POLICE STATE FOLKS. No one will be safe, these officers should have stopped those who were causing damage near the stop sign. BUT INSTEAD THEY LET IT TAKE PLACE IN ORDER TO USE THIS FORCE. This is quite sad to see people we pay act so ruthless. Sad day

  • Comment removed

  • @1776umphreys Personally I find it a sad day that college students, who are supposed to be America's "bright" future, decided instead to act like barbaric animals and tarnish the University that they attend. A "police state?" You saw how the animals were acting while police WERE trying to break it all up. How would you suggest they handle it next time? Using pretty pleases and pleading with them to act like human beings????

  • @1776umphreys It's called RIOTING IN THE STREET, FOLKS. Fires, destruction of public property, drunk and disorderly conduct, assault (and batter) on a peace officer, just to name a few. You guys were lucky the cops were as light as they were. These people throwing bottles and rocks and bricks and stuff are lucky they didn't get shot.

  • @1776umphreys I am the proud wife of a calm and patient, loving amazing man who just happenes to be one of those "ruthless police men" you speak of. He never raises his voice, gives people all the credit and chances they deserve....but I have stood by for almost eight years now watching, reading and listening to how much the students dislike the law enforcement at WIU. I attended WIU, graduated, and attended nothing like this in any of my years at WIU.

  • @joanna1anderson just continuing my other comment: We are successful in our lives in this sweet town of compassionate and kind (not to mention forgiving individuals) and my husband and I do not drink alcohol- not socially- not at all. I would love for the students who had such horrible things to say about WIU being a party school to also consider in what way this sort of classification can be made. Is there a diagnostic tool? I wasn't left out at college for not drinking and I had a great
