I've always loved secret passages such as the ones on Zorro.Other TV shows which had them were The Green Hornet,Batman,The Munsters,The Barbary Coast,Queen of Swords,Honey West,The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

The only thing i dont get is wy grandfather De La Vega would tell his grandson about the secret passage but not his son....after all,the threat of indians was still around in the late 17's when Alejandro was a boy

@obiwanfx It could be that Abuelo de la Vega either 1.) told Alejandro about the passages and Alejandro forgot, or 2.) Alejandro was too young to know about it, and Abuelo de la Vega decided he'd keep the tunnels from him until he was old enough to know, but by that time the need for Alejandro to know no longer existed, and Abuelo died before he could tell Alejandro anything about them.

If we are meant to believe that they are speaking spanish, and Garcia is going to read the sign anyway, why not write the sign in spanish? Otherwise, what was the point of him reading it aloud anyway? just show the private is uneducated? Or maybe I'm reading to deep into this.

@ultimateSpagety Two reasons. a) filled a little time in the episode, and added a little to our knowledge of Garcia and the lancers (it's only the second episode, they're building the characters here). And b) for the sake of the very young viewers who hadn't quite mastered all those big words -- of whom there were very many. Gotta remember, "Zorro" started out with big ratings and grew from there.

They have totally disrespected and shunned the great shows and characters that made them great. The Disney Channel used to be unique (as were most channels) and that's why television was so great. Now it's all the same bland soulless stuff, for the most part. There are a few beacons of hope.

Yeah but they to them off in 2001 and I was less then thrilled. But yes this was part of my early child hood and then part of my teen years. I even showed some to my nabers grand son who said he likes it to. But why is episode 2 the only one in black and white? Even episode 1 is in color.

My Omi (Grandmother) first got me interested in the show when I was 4 or 5. She had a little dog named Zorro and wanted to show me where she had gotten the name. So late that night she called me to watch the TV when and old black and white Zorro came on, number 8 of season one in fact, Zorro's Ride of Terror. One episode was all it took, I've been a Zorro fan for going on 18 years now. Thank you Corporal Reyes for making this most missed part of my childhood so easily recovered :)
