  • *The Well-Tempered Clavier* not Clavichord.

  • @boi905 that is correct. "well-tempered clavier". TNX

  • I agree with jungaballoo. Slow down that prelude, at least to get (most of) the correct notes. The fugue...just does not work out well on marimba, or at least I imagine it wouldn't. It's hard enough to play on piano! Great job memorizing it and getting to know the work at least, you didn't have any hesitations or anything. You also did well for the most part as far as getting the fugue subject across throughout. It just needs a bit more confidence as far as the notes are concerned, imo.

  • love this!

  • What grip is that?

  • @obriantguyful modified burton grip

  • @samuelperuzzolo I used to call that the "Leigh Stevens" grip.

  • @obriantguyful I used to call it the "Leigh Howard Stevens" modified grip. He's the one who taught me that grip back in the 70's at the Eastman.

  • omg.....

  • Well played !

  • who clicks "dislike" on something like this? wow, something wrong with a few of ya

  • ótimo

  • Muito bom... qdo pensamos que ja vimos de tudo sobre musica, aparece um video incrivel assim.. Parabens !!!!

  • That fugue is a beast! Nice job though.

Note accuracy = a marimbists greatest challenge!

  • actually note accuracy is easy. performing marimba with emotion is the greatest challenge. marimba is one of the few pitched instruments the musican doesn't touch when they play

  • have you seen #MarimbaVirtuoso 's videos? i think he knows what he is talking about.

  • bitch you don't know me

  • that's a cool solo, I'm in 11th grade and doing it for our District Solo and Ensemble

  • :) niiice bro

  • Well, done on the fugue,at least as far as I watched. Take the prelude slightly slower, good sir. Let it marinate a little while. Right now you're microwaving this prime steak and it's turning out to taste slightly less than delicious. By slowing it down you would eliminate the numerous mistakes made in the prelude. On some of those runs you chopped entire sections of notes out. Learn to play it slow and post the video of it then, I will be more impressed. Harder mallets on prelude, please

  • @xylojet Why would you want softer mallets on a piece where almost every note is staccato? Listen to Gould's finger-tapping to get a sense of the definition needed for this work.

  • FAST HANDS!! very cool

  • Genius!
