I purschased this year/model(SE) on Friday (10/14/11) I tried to get top down today, but it would only start process. Frustrated , I tried to reverse process but back will not lock. There is no "manuel" what should I do. I noticed a small cable wire on both sides of inside of rear top with small hook unattached. Do they connect somewhere, and do they even matter?
@dickensbey I sold this car years ago, but I think it turned out to be that it was low on hydraulic fluid (there may have even been a very slow leak). Internet research for instructions to check the fluid level and see if that helps.
@dickensbey Also, I do remember the small cable wire on both sides and I recall that they definitely DO have a purpose - but I can't remember exactly what they are for -- I think they either connect to microswitches, or they control the little flipper wings on the hard-top cover that comes down over the roof when it is folded back in the trunk space. When the roof is functioning properly, you can watch the cables, and I'm sure it will become obvious as to their purpose.
Yeah, but what if you have some back seat passengers? It kinda looks like a Guillotine effect with that back window clam-shelling up to seal against that cowl. That window pivots dangerously close to those headrests.
Hello! Do you know what i might need to replace fluid wise if the top will not go down? I hear it trying when I press the button but it wont move backward to open ??? Thanks!
