  • The Abraham Papyrus is an absurd fraud and easily disproved. An embarrassment to the Hierarchy . This joke is what Joe conjured up out of his perception of Real Egyptian. He was wrong 100% of the time! Statistically significant but in the wrong direction. So, how much error is there in the Book of Mormon, translated from non existent "reformed" Egyptian for which not a scintilla of evidence exists. And translated with the plates outside and his head in his hat with his pet rock!?

  • I hope they''re still not holding their breath since the BOA was proved to be a hoax. . Smith drew the exact letters in the exact sequence as he "translated" Even the picture fragments match. Do Mormons really think god turns black people white if they're "good"? LOLOL

In the light of this fraud, how can anyone think Smith was a prophet or the BOM is "real"? The degree of self-deception & denial is astounding. Maybe as some Mormons say, god changed the evidence to induce faith. LOL

  • @smb12321 The point of the matter is no one knows if it is a fraud or not. Only God himself. So who are you going to trust?

  • @Standard088 I'm sorry but the point of the matter is that we DO know that the papyrus scrolls used by Smith to created the "Book of Abraham" (LOL) were nothing of the sort. I do not understand how rational folks can still claim this is a mystery or undecided when the evidence is so overwhelming. It's like a chid - I STILL believe in Santa.

  • @Standard088 Sorry but the point of the matter is that we DO know that the papyrus used by Smith had nothing to do with the "Book of Abraham". How can adults, knowing the overwhelming evidence of fraud, claim that the situation is unresolved or undecided. It's like a child - I STILL believe in Santa.

  • jefflindsay. com/LDSFAQ/boa.shtml

  • and it came to pass i saw dinasours

  • its a fine day when 2 cults start validating each other, but that makes sense since Joe Smith probably read Quran; got his ideas for prophethood, polygamy, extra-Biblical text & human gullibility

    3 points:

    1) the fragments are ancient Egyptian scrolls from the "Book of the Dead"

    2) proves that he did not know how to translate Egyptian, otherwise he would've known

    3) both islam & mormanism can not withstand science; archeology, genetics, textual criticism, history

    got to lie; taqiyya

  • Since when is an Egyptian death scroll a 'canonized' text in the Mormon faith. I'll tell you. It's called DENIAL.

Like an abused spouse who refuses to leave the marriage. Adherence to an apostate religion is no different is it?

  • This video makes the assertion that non-LDS scholars were the first ones to translate the newly found papyri, in fact after the LDS church received the scrolls they had them translated right away and then announced that they were not the Book of Abraham. Also you can see that the discussion of the video was purely one sided and biased against the church. To be clear, ounce the church had translated the papyri, they made facsimiles for all to see and examine themselves!

  • Joseph Smith was one little bastard. Stick him w/ Mary Baker Eddy, Mohammad, Charles T. Russell and L. Ron Hubbard in the pits of hell.

  • Combine this with The Kinderhook Plates, and a non-existance language called "Reformed Egyptian", and where does it all lead??? The B.O.M. is a scam, and LDS is a fraud!!

  • i think everyone needs to see this video. i've done a lot of research and think it's interesting that those who are so involved with this mormon religion fail to see the truth of this film. so sad...

  • This video is so straight up on the mark!

Joe Smith blew it! He put Bugs Bunny's head on Donald Duck's body in essence and pushed it past his gullible followers. in the light of modern scholarship it shows that Joe is a total fraud! and Hinckley knows it!

  • Have you read ancient manuskrpts. Then stop your lying.

Even atheist science would throw out BOM befor the Bible. Nothing in the BOM exsisted NONE NONE NONE. You might as well think the world is flat too. Christians can answer thousands of questions wuth facts take me on ill prove it.

  • The idea of everyone with a true testimony of Christ being a prophet was put forth by the Apostle John. I have a testimony of Christ so I have the spirit of prophecy. And as for the NY Times being interested? I very much doubt it. They don't deal in truth.

  • Mormon Apostle Bruce McConkie

"CASTE SYSTEMS have their ROOT and ORIGIN in the GOSPEL itself, when they operate according to DIVINE DECREE, the resultant restrictions and SEGREGATION ARE RIGHT AND PROPER AND HAVE THE APPROVAL OF THE LORD. To illustrate: Cain, Ham, and the whole Negro race HAVE BEEN CURSED WITH A BLACK SKIN, the mark of Cain, so they can be identified as a CASTE APART, a people with whom the other descendants of Adam should not intermarry."

    (Mormon Doctrine, 1958, p 107-108)

  • bruce though wrote this before he was an apostle, and later on corrected it and apologized and said that he said it without revelation on the subject.

  • "Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but revealeth his secrets unto His servants the prophets" Amos 3:7 So my friends, either God is doing nothing, or somewhere on the earth he has a prophet to whom He speaks. Whats it going to be?

  • good point...

  • Thats why John says that "the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy" (Revelation 19:10) so I guess that does make me a prophet, chief!

  • If you can sell that idea, sticky, it might make you a PROFIT!

  • Read the bible, when has god ever told anyone to believe in his prophets? He tells His prophets to tell the people about Him. Not the other way around. If god directly told you to do anything, that would make you a prophet chief.

  • There are two ways to translate the Papyri as discovered after the Rosetta Stone was translated. There are a couple revealing texts: Alexander Joseph "Dry Bones; A Resurrection of Ancient Understandings"; and Kerry Ross O'Boran's "The widow's son:The esoteric history of the prophet Joseph Smith and the origin of Mormonism" idiesel2 at yahoo dot com

  • Wait, wait, I thought mormons claimed that the Bible went hand in hand with the BOM, after all isn't it the supposed "second" testament of Jesus Christ? And who authorizes these prophets, God? If he really wanted us in His church he would tell us to listen to the Prophets.

  • He did. Just not this particular brand.

  • Who's brand of "Prophet", sticky793?, that is the ultimate question.

  • 27 But God hath chosen the afoolish things of the world to bconfound the wise; and God hath chosen the cweak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

    (New Testament | 1 Corinthians 1:27)

  • So, is that the reason there are more multilevel scams perpetrated on Utah Mormons that anyplace else in the USA?

  • Kind-of funny that you would chose an anti-christ person from the Book of Mormon as your twisted nickname here: Korihor.

Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God in every single aspect. No one person could have accomplished what he did without being a true Prophet of God. Your own hypocracy blinds you to the truth and reality that The Restoration spoken of by the Apostle John has taken place and began through a humble farm-boy from New York State in 1820.

  • I think you sir, are the anti-Christ here. You are the one that believes in JS, a man that lied his a## of to his wife AND the members of his church about his philandering polygammy, his magic underpants and secret handshakes and a phoney book (hebrews in America) and the funeral scrolls as scripture, and marrying teenagers, and prophecies that never came about. He made one accurate statement in JS 2:19 that says it all--including mormonism.

  • Who are you scott? The hypocracy cop? You don't know squat about "truth or reality". You live in some fairy-tale land and know nothing of reality. What, scott? Am I to believe in every wild claim that comes down the religion turnpike? If not, why your brand of BS in particular? Does your home care nurse know you are out??

  • I'm not done with you yet , you arrogant pissant. Who died and made you the know-all and be-all? If you are an example of Celestial Kingdom material, WHO in their right mind would want to go there? Why don't you use that pisthood of yours and do an "Alma" on me you prideful piece of mormundung. Lets have it, CK snob. Show us all what a REAL follower of Christ can do. Yeah. I thought so, you pompous...

  • Just kiddin'scotkin, welcome to the debate!

  • Scholars and philosophers were partly responsible for the apostasy of the ancient church. The Bible was not written by scholars. Truth comes by revelation through authorised Apostles and Prophets, not through the worldly learning of scholars.

  • "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." C.S. Lewis

  • But sticky! Where was the holy ghost during all this apostacy? Why would he talk to you and not the martyred saints? Did he take time off or was he just incompetent? And about this "revealed" truth. Christianity has remained constant for 2000 years. Mormon "truth" changes dramatically from decade to decade and depending on which "authorized" prophet is speaking. "Truth" by its very definition is unchangeable, Sticky.

  • Im sure the Holy Ghost did speak to the martyred Saints. They were, afterall, DEAD! And as for Christianity remaining constant for 2000 years. Well, almost. There's been a succession of Popes for nearly 1700 years. But thankfully, men like Luther, Zwingli, Calvin etc. realized that so-called christianity was not the christianity that Christ had established.

  • Joseph Smith came into posession of Egyptian mummies and papyri. Some fragments are found in the Metropolitan Museum. Some scholars claim they are part of an Egyptian funeral text. Is it a surprise that a funeral text accompanied Egyptian mummies? Are these scraps the origin of the Book of Abraham? Or was it other papyri? I do know that Joseph was a Prophet. Thats enough.

  • yes it is

  • Yep! Don't confuse me with the facts!

  • No, sticky. It is no surprise that funeral texts would accompany Egyptian mummys. What IS, IS, IS, unusual is the idea that Abraham, argueably the greatest prophet of God ever, was induced to include his writings into a PAGAN sarcophagus. Abraham would have had nothing to do with a PAGAN ritual nor a nobody Egyptian dead body. But if you believe that an angel appeared and gave a nobody kid 234 pounds of gold plates, you'll believe anything.

  • No, sticky, not "some" scholars. Every single scholar who has examined the BoA has called it a funnery text. Ever hear of the Roseta Stone? What shall we discuss next? How the world is really flat? How about angels with swords forcing a grown man to have sex with his 14 year old foster child? Or maybe those six foot mormons who live on the moon---Brigham young's personal revelation.

  • To anyone who may be confused, this is a link for an anti-christ website. So called Christians, remember, the same arguments that are used to rubbish the claims of the Book of Abraham, could be used to rubbish the Bible. There is no 'proof' that the Bible is true. Ultimately, it is down to faith and personal revelation/testimony.

  • Huh? The Book of Abraham is a hoax ergo so is the Bible? That is an amazing leap in logic. There are innumerable ancient texts, including The Dead Sea Scrolls, artifacts, cooberating histories from other civilizations indicating that unlike the BoM and the BoA, the Bible is based on something. "Personal revelation" trumps all science and knowledge? You've had these revelations? I think the NY Times would be vastly interested in your story.

  • I Love this Church

  • yeah..i thnk i already did.. searching for more wisdom is of great value to consider..are you a saint Brother?thnks..you may reply to me on my eadd;hereamisendme_85@yahoo.com..chow!
