A few years ago, 2 parents went out to dinner. The babysitter called up a few hours later asking if she could cover up the clown statue, because it was scaring the kids. The parents said: get the kids out of the house we are calling the police. We don't own a clown statue. The statue was actually an escaped convict from jail. If you don't post this to 10 other videos, a clown will be in your room tonight at 3:00 am.
I totally feel you, mkbutler88. You are a great owner. The dog might be little spoiled but happier than any other dog in the world I bet.
Those who speaks of human being the boss? Lolz. Dogs are your friends that needs TLC, not something you'd want to boss around. Please drop that dog eaters' mindset.
Back to the point, dachs are naturally bit more lazy other other breed. And they become less active as aging. Don't over walk your dog when old. Not good for joint.
Why don't you use a harness instead of a leash around his neck? A harness might be more comfortable for the dog. And why do you have to pull him so hard to get him to walk? That can't be comfortable. Looks painfull to me. How would u like it if a put a leash around your neck and tried to drag you out of bed.
That is the exact same way my Dachshund Lucky is. He will be dragged just like your dog Bertie. But he still won't walk on the leash so we even stopped trying. He was a puppy when we started too.
my doxies LOVE walks, thats so odd! make sure you use a harness instead of collar, they like to sniff everything and pulling on the harness wont injure them!!
Mine used to love going for a walk but ever since he gained a little weight he doesn't like it as much. He runs when you break out the leash but once he's connected he pulls you out the door. LOL We use a harness, puts less stress on their little necks.
he's like this all day everyday, if we didn't do this he would have been obese and died a long time ago. It may look like we're being mean but we're actually just looking after him.. he's like the rest of us, hates the thought of exercise but is fine once he gets out there!
@hpeter59 An owner that bows to his dogs every demand shouldn't be an owner. They are taking the dog out for a work out. In this breed, especially, physical fitness is EXTREMELY important.
You're the human, you're the boss. Not the damn dog.

Don't drag your dachshund by the neck! What is wrong with you?? all you had to do is say you're going for a walk, dachshunds love to walk!

@oshngrl
are you serious? saying they were going for a walk obviously didnt work, hence why it is lying there refusing.

That's one lazy dog... I can't get my Teckel to stop running around unless it's food or to give him a new toy.

wow, that's the exact opposite of my dachshund. She LOVED to go on walks, would literally go crazy when we pulled out her leash and collar.
