You're probably too young to remember the "7th Heaven" to the left there at the beginning of the video? A ramp that went from ground level up to Schenectady Street many, many years ago. It went around and around til you got to the top. Like anything else it was blocked off because so many elderly who used it were getting mugged and robbed because once you were on it there was no where to run if you got attacked. When the Crosstown was built it was torn down. Steps to it still there at bottom.
As you get off that exit to Broadway, look up, railings leading to where it started is still there. In the spring that whole area is covered in Forcynthia bushes in bright yellow. It hides many secrets and memories!
