  • Blow Your Face Out , Double live album , kicked Major butt ! I also had Ladies Invited and some others I cant remember the names of , I had another live album but cant remember the name of that either , LOL ..... CHIMES ......

  • one of the favs song

  • Seriously what band had a better stage presence than J. Geils Band? I mean a complete stage presence from every member. Every member had an amazing charisma NO ONE was going to outdo the Wolf but the other five were just spot on and I've NEVER heard anyone say they saw a bad show from them. Not one.

  • Magic Dick..the baddest harp in the land

  • There was nothing like a concert in the old Boston Garden with Boston's own J Geils. I remember going to college in the early '80s and most of the New York/Jersey kids had never heard the J Geils Band while all us Bostonians were blasting it through the dorms. They were soon lovin' the JGB, too.

  • Saw them many times at the Portland Civic Center in Maine. Went there for the New Year's Eve shows. Best way to ring in the new year!

  • I still remember watching this show on German TV. Thanks for uploading it!

  • WE ARE GONNA BLOW YOUR FACE OUT

  • Magic Dick. Double live Blow Your Face Out. Best party album, best party band.

  • oh hell yea BLOW YOU FACE OUT !!

  • BLOW YOUR FACCCE OUT Without doubt thee best party Album bar none. Steve Australia

  • I saw them at the Boston Garden in 1981, on their Love Stinks Tour. My first concert ever-- my father took my sister and I as a birthday present or something when I was in sixth grade. It was awesome!! I had one of those black concert t-shirts. I recall the t-shirts in those days were $6, and the baseball shirts seemed reallly expensive at $8!

  • Studio version hit #35 in Billboard, 2-3-79. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • Thanks for the post! Good memories....Rock On!

  • I saw U2 open for them in Ft. Lauderdale FL. So there.

  • One of the best harp solos ever!!

  • I can't find that song called "Just can't stop me" from their album "Sanctuary".

  • saw them in June 82 in Newcastle supporting the Rolling Stones.....thank fuck Prince didn't show up!

    long live J Geils Band

  • Saw them in the early 70's....they opened for 10 Years After.......

But guess who stole the show......Damn Straight.... :-)

  • @HippieJimi That woulda been classic man! Good for you...awesome!

  • I saw them in Cologne, Germany. They warmed up before the stones and they were 10 times better !

  • Back in the 70's In the original Boston Garden every summer the Geil's band would come home!!...That was a Rock n Roll show.....One year the mayor"s Office Came out and gave the band large Trophy and it was like a giant pitcher....you know ..like the kind you drink out of....well...Peter Wolf Pour's some Champagne in it and say's to the crowd "Now all we have to do is tell the mayor the 18 year old's can drink!" The crowd went freekin nut's! THAT was the 70's and that was a Geil's show.

  • CLASSIC GEILS in their prime! THX for posting!

  • Studio version hit #35 in Billboard, 2-3-79. God bless! Hugs to you. BTW, I'm NOT gay!

  • What a band - what a song - what a night !...those were the times...

  • Saw them in 1980 wish I could remember more, but I do remember wearing more than one J iles cassette out.

  • Una gran rola de una gran banda, no puedo creer que en la tienda I TUNES, esté equivocada y tengan de muestra la de freeze frame...

    ni moooo...

  • I saw them in Florida in 1981, U2 was the OPENING act.

  • where was stephen jo?

  • This is an awesome song. J Geils looks great on guitar and Peter Wolf is at his best. One of their best. They don't play it alot live or on you tube. They give me chills when I listen to that song. Please get together again - after the Fenway Park incident. I've been with this band since the 60's and they had great partys on Beacon Street. Please play live again. I love this band Go Peter

  • Peter Wolf, a better front man than a solo act

  • great song very underrated

  • this band rocks DETROIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • of all the great bands to come out of Boston thru the years; Boston, Aerosmith, The Cars, etc..., The J Geils Band stands apart from them all for their their tight, incredible, slamming live shows. All great musicians, real pros all of them. Grew up on their music in suburban Mass.- very fortunate to have a world class rock band like these guys around the area. long live the Geils band!

  • New Year's Eve 1975/76 Dayton Oh, Peter was so high he kept forgetting the words to the songs. No one cared we were all having a good time partying :) I had seen them in Cincinnati a few months before . No forgotten words at that concert. :) Good times.

  • Hope they play this song at the Fenway show on 8/14/2010 ... woofa goofa!

  • Dudes could flat out rock. Fun to watch and songs were classic. Best show on stage !!!!!!!!! !No one comes close to what these guys could do to an audience.

  • I saw The Sanctuary tour in the boston Garden 79 Great Show,

  • Great classic rock song.

  • Fucking awesome !

  • This band was my first concert 1977 Springfield Mass. Still one of the best shows ever and I have seen 100's. Anyone remember throwing joints on the stage? How about Wolf running around with a bud carton on his head like a hat. These guys are solid. I actually met Jay in Ayer Mass. He has a garage and fixes exotic cars. I did not believe it was him. But I soon learned it was!!! He gave me 2 tix to a concert in Worcester. Crazy man..... Crazy

  • I saw them dec 25th at the cape cod coliseum 1980 with his santa suit was awesome

  • Way ahead of their time,

    They are under rated!

Peter Wolf broke the ice for may bands of the future !!!!!

An Icon in the rock and roll world !

  • I saw them Dec 26 1980 at the Providence Civic Center. Peter Wolf came out in a Santa Claus coat and did Come On To The Christmas Party to start the show.

  • great New years Eve Concert at the Centrum in Worcester---what a smokefest--great time

  • It's funny how so many people know them only from Freeze Frame & Centerfold. I mean, these guys played the Filmore East back in 1971. Great R&R band for sure.

  • @casable the best

  • This is a band that new how to rock; it's a throwback to when artists still made good old fashioned rock and roll music, instead of what passes for music nowadays.

  • Great video- anyone know the date? show? I just saw them a t Mohegan- good show.

  • Is Peter Wolfe back with them.

  • Flying V ++++++++++++

  • We NEED more old school j geils on youtube... Way more!

  • This is one of my all time favorite jams.

  • A++++++++++

  • Saw these guys in janurary of 1973. Ladies Invited tour. Biggest influence in my life. Was lucky enough to get drunk with WOLF in a local providence RI bar in 83. I didn't know at the time the band had split up. i'd love to know whrere to get all the bootlegs that one website has listed for these guys.

  • Thanks for adding these. There aren't nearly enough old Geils clips on here.

BTW, the first concert I ever saw was Geils at the old Boston Garden in 1981, the Love Stinks Tour.

  • first concert I ever saw was J Geils at the Roosevelt Auditorium in Chicago January 1974, I was 14

  • Nice! I live 30 min south of Bahston. was a bit young to see them in their heydey, but i caught them in Mansfield in '99! Still sounded fantastic! The Geils band is the ONLY band i ever wanted to see reunite and i got my wish on my 29th birthday! Too bad Stephen Jo Bladd wasn't there though.

  • And you don't have tickets to the House of Blues show this month?

DAMN wish there was affordable tickets out there! Look on Ebay..

  • i didn't know they reformed! No Shit! Damn! i can't afford the price either! Who Can? Where did you hear about this? I've been reading the Boston Phoenix a lot. didn't see any mention of it. :-(

  • actually I was downloading some J Geil bootlegs from Wolfgang's Vault Do a Yahoo search for it and check it out and then did a Peter Wolf search thinking I might find out what he is doing and see if any mention of a tour, well Peter Wolf has a MYSPACE page and someone contiributed the House of Blues site saying they will be performing there. So hopefully with this sold out show it will want to make them put on more shows! We can only hope! I will keep an eye out, you do the same and contact me!

  • Peter Wolf! Magic Dic!...J.Geils Band is my legend.
