yea the throttle can make it go fast but the primary reasone that lawnmower can be transformed into racing lawnmowers is by doing a pulley mod...Change the ratio and you can get awesome results.

i thought about doing that but once i started planning it, i realized that on a mower, the steering shaft rotates several times to go full-left to full-right. that would be a hastle to have to do with bars

man i have the same mower exept for mine has craftsman on it but there mainly the same design and my gas tanks mounted on the engine ( something you never want)once the fuel gets below a certain level it dosent feed into the engine anymore, SUCKS so i just bolted on a tank onto the back of the steering colum support and did some doodeling and shes good know .. how long did it take for your tranny to blow its a six speed and what size pulleys do you have on the engine and the transaxle? thnks

I got an Identical Murray mower only I custom painted mine to look like Jimmy Johnson Nascar for a lawnmower poker run. Then I tow a blue cooler with 5 inch kart wheels for the beer.

Its all about your gears in the tranny on how fast you go. With a stock engine and the right gears you can go pretty damn fast for a lawnmower

I had that same Go Kart set up with dirt tires on it too..I later changed the entire rear half and I put in a 7.5 HP motor ...I flipped it once on the dirtbike track I had behind my house..
