  • Perhaps a significant question re the language, is whether you understand what is at the heart of the sacramental mystery? The answer - love......

  • Do you think these matters are of any concern to God? Does it not worry you, that they are of concern to you?

  • where is the miter? the maniple? the chalice veil? lots of things are lacking. do you even understand what you are reading? you didn't even removed your zucchetto during the consecration

  • In google type ' Sancta Missa' follow the first or second option it tells you all about pronunciation, rubrics and a superior rite. Pax.

  • @pax516 Thank you for the helpful link which looks useful. I shall enjoy improving my pronunciation when I find time.

  • Keeping the purity of language, keeps the purity of meaning. Of course i could kneel down in prayer and say 'lalablalaa' and say that God knows i'm saying the Pater noster, but thats not the point. Not keeping 'linguistic exactitudes' is like saying 'Thou shalt kill' rather than saying 'Thou shalt not kill'. Don't think that cockiness makes up for ignorance.

  • @pax516 You change your point. No words have been ommitted or replaced . You spoke about pronunciation, which in some cases can alter meaning but not often as accents show. Please advise me of any occasion where my manner of pronunciation translates differently to the original meaning.

  • I hope this man will study latin further, perhaps he won't keep making mistakes with pronunciation.

  • @pax516 I'm sure God understands me and I'm not too worried about the religious Latin purists who chase linguistic exactitudes rather than grace.

  • Very correct Latin Mass, I must admit, eventhough I am dubitative of the validity of such a Mass: We didn't do any effort to go to the Church, I do not know if it really fullfill our Sunday obligation. There is indeed also a lack in the "comunity aspect".

    Pax et Bonum

  • @donhenri01 Unless one is a recluse, everyone is embedded within a wide community continually. One's Sunday obligation should not be to attend a building but to be in Communion with God and all. Reception of the sacrament is a symbol of that which must be enacted in all life. The effort should not be in religious observance, but the practice of unconditional love.

  • Interpretation please?

  • Oh dear, oh dear. I will pray for the person from whom this comment has come, that he or she would encounter the God of love, the Christ of grace, and the Holy Spirit of sanctification.

  • Wonderful Service! I'm sure it reached and strengthened many!

  • There are a variety of videos to try and provide resources for everyone and more being prepared. If one leaves you confused, do try another.

  • The Holy Spirit at work in the Church and in his people to make the Body of Christ available to all in new and innovative ways.

  • Wow. Is this guy trying to be funny? The least he can do is buy a dvd on how to say the Latin Mass as opposed to pretending to know.

  • So who can understand? The 'elite' make such comments but they are well fed elsewhere and merely drop by to cast scorn instead of love. For others, it provides a bridge across which they can pass into the care of the God without the particularities of language intruding. The elite, so preoccupied with that which is insignificant, miss the point.

  • I think he is doing a Latin Novus Ordo.

  • Alleluia.

  • What for?

  • Yes. At least some form of it. Notice he says mysterium fidei after the consecration of the wine, and then says salvator mundi salva nos etc. - saviour of the world save us...In the Roman Canon the mystery of faith is the eucharist. In the novus ordo it is just some sort of random proclamation usually made by the congregation - the worst being 'christ will come again' - they say that while He's on the altar!

  • not the best mass but not bad

  • Honestly, get a grip. "What is Mass?" please, what a silly question, or perhaps not as the case maybe, coming from the man dressed up as Roman Catholic Bishop. (with no grasp of the reubrics)

Can I ask why you feel you need to do this? I don't believe that you honestly think you are a Bishop (If you do you need seriosus help) So why all this play acting?

    You were never vaildly ordained-FACT.

And no..not Queens english at the altar..(or in your case bedside table) just correct pronunciation.

  • have u any proof he as u put it 'never validly ordained'? I have heard alot of crap ministers priests do a lot of services where I didnt understand a word and if it hadnt been for my own knowledge I would have not known where we were in the service. I have heard Bishops get the Rubics wrong right down to the Deacon getting it wrong...

Check your facts and come back when you have grown up with full backing of all the facts and then leave a sensible comment...thats if u can!

  • The prejudiced demonstrate that their opinions are spurious by describing them as fact.

  • Could you explain what is a 'valid ordination with or without Apostolicity'? I have spent 8 years as a theology and ministry student and still could not answer this polemical question....... You are clearly educated and therefore must know its an impossible and pointless question to ask....

I've sat through many a Mass ; low, high, street and latin and they are all different. Moreover I have also witnessed many differing 'ordinations' again all very different but that's the beauty of belief.

  • This is a joke

  • WHY?

  • " What is the Mass"? Yes indeed you may ask. It has nothing to do with what we can see hear. Brian Rix around anywhere?

  • Hear? Perhaps an indication of the comment's origin. Rix is indeed a frequent visitor at traditional church where the divergence between what is spoken and what is lived descends into farce.

  • He obviously doesn't know what he's doing (yes, his pronunciation is awful) - he looks and sounds like a TV actor playing an Italian cardinal who learnt his part from watching TV - but I've seen worse. Funny how he does a better job than some real RC priests. After all he an ex-Church of England priest: he likes high church even though he's not sure how to do it.

  • The pharisees have been ruffled.

  • It's his faithfulness which is important in all he does!

  • U do better??

  • Oh and while we're at it....his pronunciation is terrible.

  • Ah, no regional accents or the like at the altar is it......only the equivalent of the 'Queen's English'?

  • Haha!! oh thats funny!

What is that silly man doing?

    oh dear oh dear.

Does he really think that is Mass???

  • What is Mass?

  • Absolutely null, and utterly void.

  • declareth the Lord or some earth viewer?
