If we focus on optimum health, weight loss will follow. But, the opposite isn't true, if we focus on weight loss, optimum health isn't necessarily going to follow.
I have a young male patient (under 30) that I've seen since he was in grade school. He let his weight go over 400 pounds at one point. Lap Band was done, and he got as low as 220. Last week he ended up in the hospital in ICU with a hole in his stomach leaking stomach contents into his thorax. Serious infection, fortunately he is healing, but his lap band had to be removed. Here's hoping that he'll change his lifestyle appropriately now that the band is gone. Not a fan of the surgery.
to galeanoandres: before giving information, be sure you are 100% sure your info is accurate. Eating once a day is NOT healthy. I have done much research, a big follower of Men's health, a div.1 track runner and I know how to lose weight, and it is by eating smaller portion sized meals every 2-3 hours, eating once a day will only make your body intake a lot of food at once and not know how to process all of it, in turn storing some of that food as fat, also not eating throughout the day thinkin
As I mentioned to crosspecans... I do wish I would've run across this channel and hers prior to surgery. I had my surgery already though - back in December.
Dan, found you through Susan. I like that you don't put down those of us who chose to lose weight through gastric bypass... I was morbidly obese and actually close to death due to apnea, arthritis, diabetes, and blood pressure, WLS allowed a rapid weight loss that stopped my depression.Postop i became a flexatrian, eat raw seeds, nuts, & organic F&V. because i MUST do high protein, i also use JuicePlus+. life is AMAZING and healthy! this was my wake up call to health. Detoxify & LIVE! nicole
Newly subscribed, heard of you though crosspecans. Like your message. Addresses the root cause and makes a difference. I am a lapbander....still struggling with food craving and addiction....
Dan, I found you through Crosspecans. When I saw the topic I was certain that you were going to bash people who have decided to get Gastric Bypass surgery. Man was I ever wrong! You were charming and very non-judgemental! I have had this surgery and have lost 150 pounds. I no longer have diabetes, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol but this still doesn't necessarily make me a healthy person...does it? I think the next step is "purposeful" eating. BTW...parsley? Ohhhh yeah! LOLOL!
i will be glad to talk to anyone who has any questions about how i used dans ideas to lose 140 pound this year. raw food rocks!! i am approved for vsg-vertical sleeve gastrectomy but chose to eat whole live foods instead. thanks to liferegenerator i am on the path to true health. love peace waves~~~
@crosspecans hi im 355lbs and have a sept date for gastric by-pass any help with dans approach to weight loss would be good e-mail is[ tenzin@rogers.com] i do not want the by-pass
Lap Band helps control portions for those of us who need some sort surgical intervention. We still need to eat in a healthy way. Bariatric surgery is only "part" of what is needed. There are quite a few lap banders and bypassers who are vegans and follow the raw foods lifestyle. Personally, I would be happy if I could do a vegitarian lifestyle (since I have to have my cheese hehe)
I just found your channel from Crosspecans channel. I'm about to change my lifestyle and have been looking for something. I'm going to start looking into this. I'm still a bit confused and need to get a juicer..lol Any suggestions on cheap juicers that will do the job? I just graduated college and haven't found a job yet. Long story..anyway thank you for all the good information!
@mrgranda Welcome to the channel, Mandy! Glad to have you here. As for juicers, just check my juicer link beneath each video (along with the recipe, etc. for recipe videos). Enjoy!
Excellent video Dan! Thanks for posting this to my video. Your looking better & better every time I click play...you would think you could never look better than you did when you first went raw...but you do!
Check my latest vid called BANANA SMOOTHIE to learn more about this, and be sure to read the info section of that vid too.. thanks! Oh, and check the FAQ on my channel page as you'll see a lot of your other questions answered there... I'm drowning in messages right now :D
what would you suggest for those who've had bypass surgery that is not reversible? Dont think those peope can even consume fruit, because of how the stomach has been rerouted....any suggestions? i would really appreciate it for a friend, thnx
@rachellefromcali Just watch some of my 450+ videos on the topic right here on YouTube! I have recipe videos with the recipes typed out beneath the videos and all... Have fun! :D
i REALLY love your videos. they are fantastic and just what everyone needs to start this diet and keep it going. other people on youtube aren't quite as inspirational as you! i love it! i can dig it!
just look at dans skin from vid one to now, wheres the bloody wrinkles, hes got the holy grail dudes, hes actually reversed his age, gained confidence, but what is this bum chin we all get with age that warns young teenage girls from mating with us, maybe plastic surgery is the only way, but personally im ok with the old gals, their wisdom excites me.. remember, parasites and viruses cant live in a highly oxygenated alkaline blood, similar to a smimming pool, bicarb of soda, or bob beck,or juice
Well said Dan! Dan have you and Krista ever considered making your videos into podcasts? That way we could listen to your positive messages in the car, mp3's while we're cleaning the house etc. Ok maybe I'm just Dan obsessed. I can't get enough of the hope and the good vibes that you are emitting :)
"Ding Dongs & bread?" We are hysterical here with the way you said that. Here at work, listening to you at my desk. My co-workers heard that. We are secretaries in an office at a NY hospital. You are the best!
Wonderful video... Dan you look very healthy and vibrant. Thank you for the information. I will pass it along to a friend that is thinking of lap band.
Fruits can also be unripe from the shop, well most are and they can be very acidic for this reason and harmful. The fructose in fruit bypasses normal mitochondria and heads straight to liver. Loads of fructose encourages fatty liver. They pick the fruit to early, so it will get to the shop looking fresh. Ripe fruits are more alkaline and good for us. They are not available all year around in the UK. If Dans diet is right, I live in wrong place, maybe we origionated from one perfect place.
Ideally nuts should be shelled.... they soon become rancid otherwise and contaminated with fungus. Asperigillus thing bob. Sorry forgot what it is called. Enzyme inhibitors are designed to protect themselves from us and other predictors, so we counteract this and soak our nuts.
I'm sorry, I was referring to the tiny stomach size that the surgery would give you... I would imagine you would have to get the band removed in order to be on this diet because you need a lot of fruits and veggies to meet your calorie needs... or perhaps it's not needed because maybe natural foods are digested faster?
@liferegenerator yeah i seen,i been stuck watching ur vids for the past 4 hours straight today haha..im gonna buy that Juicer on amazon :) much love and respect to you and krista!
Another good one, Dan. My old endocrinologist wanted me to think about the lap band or gastric - even while he said that they didn't know the long term effects of such surgeries. Even for people who are initially successful with gastric, w/n 5 years many have vitamin deficiencies and other issues.
I got a new endo who's fine with veganism and high raw. Why do the surgery when you can eat great food?!
soaking for 8-12 hours, depending on the nut, then rinsing, releases the enzyme inhibitors. naturally, a nut will fall off a tree, lay there, get moved, buried, etc. and the inhibitors keep it from sprouting too soon. the soaking is the equavalent to spring rain, waking up the nut. the inhibitors make it harder for humans to digest the raw nuts.
I can't say 100 year olds, but Vikotras Kulvinskas and Tonya Zavasta are both in amazing shape for their ages. They're out there! Your average joe or jane who hasn't written a book, you might meet him or her at the bank.
just my opinion, but the majority of "superfooders" are still in the "just give me a magic pill' mentality, and are not up for total lifestyle change of going raw/vegan/juice/green smoothie, etc.
Need some advice, I'm having issues with my parents about my health. They think I'm becoming 'unhealthy' and 'obsessing' over my health by starting to juice more and eat more greens and fruit. I try explaining to them why the juice is so good but they claim that since they're 3x my age they know better. It really irritates me because no matter what I say, I will never win. They say doing anything too much is never good, and even go so far as to say that you can be TOO HEALTHY. help?
Hi Kyle, Krista here. If you don't mind me asking, do you have any excess weight to lose? i.e., do you currently "look" healthy? And what about them, do they have any excess weight to lose and do they "look" healthy?
Also, have they seen any liferegenerator videos?
Once you answer these questions I'll be able to respond better to your question...thanks! ;-)
no I have no excess weight to lose. I've lost most of all the fat that I had which was about 10 lbs in the last few months. My parents aren't heavy either, although my mother wants to lose some weight. Yes I have been following Dan for a couple months now and he has been my inspiration to live better. I think they are just so used to what is 'normal' and think that anything else is wrong since most people aren't doing it.
Hmm. Well, since you've lost 10 lbs via juices, raw fruits & veggies, then surely it's only a matter of time that your Mom will put 2 + 2 together & realize that it could help her lose some weight too. Many times people just aren't 'ready' to lose weight, even if they see exactly HOW they could lose weight. And that is OK. Rather than try to 'win' any argument, just try to deflect the conversation by saying, 'Well, I've never felt better in my life...I'm going out for a walk now, see you!' ;-)
So when someone who isn't 'ready' to lose weight sees someone else succeeding at it, they may give that person trouble simply because they are 'jealous' that they aren't yet 'ready,' but have no fear...eventually, they will become 'ready.' Just be the living example in the meantime, just as WithWings2222 suggested. Also, you could say you'd rather be too healthy (whatever that means!) than be a bit unhealthy! But then leave the room right after saying that--there's no need to prove anything. ;-)
Lastly, you could remind them that most 'normal' Americans are overweight...or even obese. So therefore you believe that what most 'normal' Americans eat and/or do (or not do) for exercise, leads to the same.
Fish need a good balance of PH in their water to survive and function. If the water becomes too acidic the fish die.
Its the same with the cells in the body. The PH of the surrounding fluid needs to be neutral in order for the cells to function properly. Then they can do their job as well as heal. Think of the feats performed by ancient greek triathletes. We really are meant to be SUPER humans and we can be again.
dan, you hit it on the head.... this diet IS simple.... and people think you have to have all these PLANS... prepackaged, do this, do that, kind of thing..... eating veggies and fruits you actually feel lighter... my daughter had gastric bypass very recently and I think she regrets it. I feel badly eating a salad in front of her. Gastric bypass and Lap band surgery carries possiblites of complications for years. Its just not natural.and worries me. too many people doing it.
..cont'd.. I do agree that raw foods still need to sustain the majority of our diet, but there is nothing wrong, and it is actually quiet necessary to implement cooked (not junk) food into our diets from time to time.
Humans are the only living organism that eats cooked food! Interestingly enough they are also the only ones that destroy their home and also they are a very sick species! 1.8 million years is not even a finger snap in the evolutionary time scale of this planet! We have not adapted to cooked food just because we like the way it tastes! I'm not saying cooked food is bad, it is just dead and I don't know how we are going to get life from death? I know many long term raw vegan in awesome health!
I think that if one wants to include meat/animal protein, they should do it in the most natural way possible,
Which would be raw and it would be things like insects, reptiles, rodents ect.
Isn't it funny that those things are considered disgusting in our culture?
How many times do you think our ancestors took on something the size of a boar or larger before they were mortally injured? Eating medium to large size animals is not natural, but that's just my opinion
I agree cooked food is dead. We kill it again, LOL! Anyway, how about raw eggs, raw fish, raw meat we would of ate these. Dan what is your opinion about the health side to raw iron in meat, raw EPA/DHA fis oils in fish and iodine, and raw phosphatidylcholine (PC) in eggs. Like a raw Paleolithic diet.
I'm just saying the time scale has been long enough to implement evolutionary changes in our physiology with cooked food -- despite the evolutionary time scale of the planet. I strongly believe that it isn't ideal to do anything to the extreme. Then again, everything is relative in the sense that w/e works for one person might not work for another if his beliefs are different. It's all good though like you said, I don't sweat it, I simply believe everything is good in moderation...
The thing is, it's quite impossible to stay on a 100% raw vegan diet and remain healthy, long-term. Simply because we have been cooking with fire for the past 1.8 million years, and certain evolutionary changes have taken place to cause our bodies to assimilate nutrients better in that way. Changes we cannot reverse in a life time or half a life with 100% raw foods.
what has made you think this? How about eating raw egg, raw fish, raw other foods as we did origionally? What specific cooked foods do you mean? You can get raw oatmeal for breakfast, raw salad for dinner? I do like steamed kale, okinawas steam for short periods of time, they do well? What do U do?
Education is everything. i love your passion to learn about health. I am an anatomy and physiology nut myself and love anything related to holistic nutrition. There is always room to learn more! Diets... don't work. It's all about finding a solid dietary lifestyle that works for us and that which we are willing to work for. It is something one can keep up with the rest of their life according to what's working best for us. Raw vegan is for everyone just not everyone is for it, sadly. Keep *contd
sharing the love and healing. Thank you for making another dedication video. Your friend Steve seems to have a big heart like you Dan. There is true healing through God and we are blessed to have things like whole raw natural foods and herbs to assist in the process. If we honor and respect our bodies they will do what they are naturally meant to do - EveryBODY has a voice, the real question is: who is willing to listen?
How can you be sure your body wants raw foods like just veg/fruit. The eskimos could not manage of just this, they would have to go so high on nuts/seeds to keep warm, dan eats more N & S in winter. Fat is an insulator and protector of organs. The brain is 70% fats. Each cell is 50% saturated fat. Why are fruits, nuts/seeds not available all year around? They are only seasonal. some people listen to there body and it says icecream? I say, look at nature... mainly fish, meat, loads a green.
Seasonal depending on location, things vary from season to season it's not like we go high and dry. Nature provides all God has granted us to survive. If you have additional questions please ask Him. Goodluck.
Precisely God has given us everything we need to survive, and in my specific area I do not have... naturally lots of fruit all year round. Therefore I thought this would logically mean I am not suppost to go high on the fruit. Even in the tropics where they have lots of fruits, they still eat meat. Nature seems to have granted almost fatty meat, fish, in winter when it is snowy and all the greens are damaged via the snow.
I understand. This is a common question many raw foodists get. As for me I go back to the soul begining before eskimos and wild cave men, lol. I go back to the Garden of EDEN where every seed bearing plant, fruits and herbs were made and biologically intended to be consumed and utilized. Where animals were friends not feasts, before sin started. I do not wish to debate here. I am responding because you left me comments. I wish you love, happiness and good health dear. Hugs!
Thanks for responding, your such a nice person, I watched your channel months ago. Your origional, and I am very bulimic (overweight) and your thin. I thought zinc helped increase appetite. I wish you all the love, luck, peace and happiness in the world! Hugs! xxxxxxxxxx
I think that raw foods is best, absolutely, although the Okinawas gently cooking food... removes goitrogens from kale, so we can have more and not get goiter. They eat raw egg, raw fish, often. In autumn nature offers fruits, then nuts and thru winter, but then alot of year nature offers veg, meat/fish? Why if we are 'suppost' to eat just veg/fruit. Why? Someone tell me why nature is like this if we suppost to follows Dans master plan. Dan is Gr8 by the way.
Well for me i still personally eat raw fish, eggs, and meat, but not alot. But the thing is that u dont actually really need to eat it. You can still get your protein and healthy fats and other nutrients from even better sources like vegetables, fruits, nuts, etc. Its just that now days most commercial meats are filled with hormones, steroids, chemicals, etc. Fish would actually be a really healthy food source but sadly their starting to find mercury and toxic contamination in our fish supplies.
When I mean raw fish, I mean Wild alaskan salmon, raw meat = wild venison, raw eggs (pastured but not fertile). The phosphatidylcholine in eggs, omega 3 (as in DHA/EPA) is not in fruit, veg, N&seeds. Dan doesn't eat many nuts/seeds, the protein comes from spinach. (pop eye looked big) but the protien seems so tiny. What if the economy crashed and we needed to go back to nature... I can see a high protein, green diet. . Even cows eat bits of grubs etc. in the grass. Fish, other animals eat othe
Dan bro you look as healthy as ever, and you look mad young. I was laughing at one of the yahoo top 4 stories today, it was The top 10 Tricks to relieve allergy symptoms.....right away I was thinking " How about cut out all the junk processed foods and fast foods and drink green juices" I didn't read the top 10 answers but I'm sure they all avoided the food thing. It was probably like "Take 2 allergy pills per day", ha, Drinking a celery, apple, lemon, parsley juice right now, CHEERS!
He's been detoxing mucus for like 2 weeks now and made that known public. We should be focused on the fact that he has a voice and isn't afraid to use it... Mucus detox or not, Dan is one of the healthiest people - that's no lie.
Hey thanks... thats actually what i was wondering in regard to. i was kinda(well not kinda hahaha i WAS) partying a lot, drinking/smoking a shit ton, not getting any sleep. i actually had an idea of what was going on inside my body but ignored it for a while like a huge dumb ass. i thought that if i was "good" or started being "good" that this could reverse.
@64Lease (i was even "health" conscious during the time i was disrespecting my body) i try to do my best, i am not all raw or even vegan. i know that i need to eliminate the AWFUL dairy. i already know that, its disgusting and i dont know why i still continue to eat it(cheese, ive heard how its actuall y addictive) i need to reprogram my brain back to wear it was viewing cheese or any dairy as well, the enemy/poison.
@64Lease i was feeling really good on the blood type diet for about 6 months(last spring summer) and that is not vegan like I THINK i do well with eggs and fish. ive been juicing lots of greens lately, like since i found Dans channel. but then i eat some crap and well, it cancels out the good to a degree. spring equinox tomorrow! gonna start new with the season! today too! :)
Just remember that its never to late to start taking care of yourself. It will also help to document your progress in some way, whether its through videos or a journal.
The gal I was refering to did go completely raw/vegan to combat her virus. She also used antiviral supplements.
Very True and it also does not say they did =P. Like i always say do what makes u feel good as a whole. not just pleasing your conscious, spirit or body but all of them and when they are all pleased i believe that's when we actually live life and feel true love
Hey Dan! Now that you're back in Seattle, I think it would be super cool if you made another hot spring/adventure video. I was SO inspired by the last two that you made(especially the one where you feed the birds off your hand). So just a little suggestion. Keep spreading the peace and love my brother!
please note also the human body that has had years of sugars etc, is a friendly enviroment for parasites, these in turn control your hypathalamus and then make you eat more for them, so make the body alkaline and hostile for these parasites that you drink everyday..
Man....I never realized that about oatmeal. It is one of my daily foods. I eat it because it fills me up. Later in the day I have my green drink. I want to lose 20 pounds but I am scared to try an all out 'full tilt boogey' raw diet. Does make sense though for weight loss. I'm going to scrap the oatmeal in the morning and try the juice and fruits. I think some mental retraining might be in order too. We get into habits that seem almost impossible to change. I can do this.
If I may butt - in, oatmeal, being cooked, is acid forming (the opposite of alkalizing) and will slow down your progress. A great source of "filling up" and cleansing fiber is just good ol' apples. eat an apple an hour before your meal, and you will be pleasantly satisfied.
How about people with gatric esophageal reflux problems, fruit tends to encourage the acid build up, especially lemons/oranges. How about the seasonal aspects to such as diet. Like in my area their is no lemons/oranges, only berries seasonally, and in the winter natually the ice decreases the green vegetables leaving fatty meat/fish mainly. What if I were an eskimo how would I manage on just fruit and veg. It seems a gr8 idea fruit and veg, but it doesn't make perfect physiological sense.
Wouldn't it be that you would pretty much have to get the bad removed for this diet? It seems you need a lot more natural food to stay healthy and get enough calories than the tiny stomach size allows with that
well it can only help fight the bad eh? but i found that from my carrot juicing for a week now my mind cant handle thinking about having a macdonalds, i actually refused a free macdonalds on the house today..but i have a nice cooked meal in an evening..on to the greens this week for a week..x
hey dan i had the lap-band done bout 3 years ago i first only lost bout 50ty pounds was at 432lbs the band really just helps to eat less not over eat my experiance anyway i plan on juicing very soon thnx brother
I tried mushroom... ate 500g. I am a bulimic so I can really eat. I spend my times trying to figure out what to do. I blame insulin resistance, acid stomach which comes on with fatty food (stopped!) fruit (stopped!) and I get a huge appetite on nuts. Then vegetables is Ok, but carrots, tomatos make me binge. I wish you lots of luck, sending you love! There is alot around this channel!
When I just ate and juiced fruit and vegetables I got sooo hungry. I ended up having a nut binge (I was nuts enuff, LOL!). My hunger settles on a high protein diet and veg. But this is creating acidosis. I WANT TO GO ON VEG FRUIT. I have come from 26 1/2 stone on protein and veg. I just get so hungry every 2-3 hrs it is impossible! But it sounds good and Dan U look gr8. What should I do? Has anyone been in this state. How do I curb my appetite on a high veg/fruit diet?
Cath, you probably have leptin resistance also known as metabolic syndrome and you need to break that cycle. I was hungry all the time, and then I went raw and slowly my appetite normalized and I lost weight all the while anyway. Just keep at it.
Your absolutely spot on! I was 26 1/2 stone, I lost 12 stone by eating lean meat, seafood, occasional halibut. I took artichoke, multi vit/min with lots of B complex in. dandelion, I exercised. I ate some vegetables, and no fruit. Oneday I ate some wild blackberries and my appetite boomed. Later I read 80 10 10 and tried the diet. I REALLY LOVE the idea of all raw veg/fruit, so nice, loving, healing. So what do you do? I mean eat? How have you got it working and for how long? Love Catherine.
Cath, I don't do anything special I still eat a lot of fruits even though I'm trying to reduce them - i seem to be a "mixed" metabolic type. I have a green smoothie (about 1.5 L) mixed veg juice (about 1-1.5 L) and a greens/avocado salad as my base. For lunch I have a big salad when I can, sometimes snack on fruit or pine nuts. I lost 20kgs quickly am at 80kgs now, the last 1-2 kgs is taking forever. Has been about 6 months I guess. Just enjoying the health benefits regardless of weight loss
If you watch Dan, he eats A LOT! And that's ok. When I have a juice/fruits/veg day, I eat as much as my body wants. Also, in transitioning, your body will trick you. It will tell you its hungry just because your old patterns may have not taught you what really being full and really being hungry felt like. I never knew what it meant to be satisfied and I used to eat because I thought I was still hungry, but in reality I was just eating out of old habits. You have to train your brain as well :)
Yes, I did. I was 26 1/2 stone and got to 13 1/2 stone but when I found it tough on my high protein diet and veg, I tried the fruit and veg, and literally I got so hungry. I literally had about 6-8 pints of green smoothies and salads, fruits etc. It just did not make me feel satisfied, so I desperately ended binging on macadamians, and shelled nuts. I eventually prepared them and soaked them. Carrots do not agree with me and citrus frui like lemons are so strong.
I used to get more hungry just eating a lot of fruits and a few veggies. Everything changed when I changed and started eating 90 % of my diet as raw kale, spinach, romain, and dulse, and only 10% fruit.....Fill up on bowls of greens, and put on them some avocados, raw apple cider vinegar, sea salt, herbs, onion, maybe some olive oil............fill up on big salads, and within two weeks you will only want to eat greens, and be addicted to them! Spinach is high in protein.
why don't you STFU!!

Lap Band helps control portions for those of us who need some sort surgical intervention. We still need to eat in a healthy way. Bariatric surgery is only "part" of what is needed. There are quite a few lap banders and bypassers who are vegans and follow the raw foods lifestyle. Personally, I would be happy if I could do a vegitarian lifestyle (since I have to have my cheese hehe)

just look at dans skin from vid one to now, wheres the bloody wrinkles, hes got the holy grail dudes, hes actually reversed his age, gained confidence, but what is this bum chin we all get with age that warns young teenage girls from mating with us, maybe plastic surgery is the only way, but personally im ok with the old gals, their wisdom excites me.. remember, parasites and viruses cant live in a highly oxygenated alkaline blood, similar to a smimming pool, bicarb of soda, or bob beck,or juice

Catherine8here 2 years ago
Ideally nuts should be shelled.... they soon become rancid otherwise and contaminated with fungus. Asperigillus thing bob. Sorry forgot what it is called. Enzyme inhibitors are designed to protect themselves from us and other predictors, so we counteract this and soak our nuts.
Catherine8here 2 years ago
I'm sorry, I was referring to the tiny stomach size that the surgery would give you... I would imagine you would have to get the band removed in order to be on this diet because you need a lot of fruits and veggies to meet your calorie needs... or perhaps it's not needed because maybe natural foods are digested faster?

Another good one, Dan. My old endocrinologist wanted me to think about the lap band or gastric - even while he said that they didn't know the long term effects of such surgeries. Even for people who are initially successful with gastric, w/n 5 years many have vitamin deficiencies and other issues.
I got a new endo who's fine with veganism and high raw. Why do the surgery when you can eat great food?!
Keep on keeping on!
calendarpage 2 years ago
soaking for 8-12 hours, depending on the nut, then rinsing, releases the enzyme inhibitors. naturally, a nut will fall off a tree, lay there, get moved, buried, etc. and the inhibitors keep it from sprouting too soon. the soaking is the equavalent to spring rain, waking up the nut. the inhibitors make it harder for humans to digest the raw nuts.

They say doing anything too much is never good, and even go so far as to say that you can be TOO HEALTHY. help?
rewindyourpants 2 years ago
Hi Kyle, Krista here. If you don't mind me asking, do you have any excess weight to lose? i.e., do you currently "look" healthy? And what about them, do they have any excess weight to lose and do they "look" healthy?
Also, have they seen any liferegenerator videos?
Once you answer these questions I'll be able to respond better to your question...thanks! ;-)
milokito 2 years ago
no I have no excess weight to lose. I've lost most of all the fat that I had which was about 10 lbs in the last few months. My parents aren't heavy either, although my mother wants to lose some weight. Yes I have been following Dan for a couple months now and he has been my inspiration to live better. I think they are just so used to what is 'normal' and think that anything else is wrong since most people aren't doing it.
rewindyourpants 2 years ago
Rather than try to 'win' any argument, just try to deflect the conversation by saying, 'Well, I've never felt better in my life...I'm going out for a walk now, see you!' ;-)
milokito 2 years ago 2
So when someone who isn't 'ready' to lose weight sees someone else succeeding at it, they may give that person trouble simply because they are 'jealous' that they aren't yet 'ready,' but have no fear...eventually, they will become 'ready.' Just be the living example in the meantime, just as WithWings2222 suggested. Also, you could say you'd rather be too healthy (whatever that means!) than be a bit unhealthy! But then leave the room right after saying that--there's no need to prove anything. ;-)
milokito 2 years ago 3
Lastly, you could remind them that most 'normal' Americans are overweight...or even obese. So therefore you believe that what most 'normal' Americans eat and/or do (or not do) for exercise, leads to the same.
milokito 2 years ago
live a life of example... there is no such thing as Too Healthy, it is our natural birth right
WithWings2222 2 years ago
If you think of the fishtank analogy....
Thanks gain Dan and Krista

dan, you hit it on the head.... this diet IS simple.... and people think you have to have all these PLANS... prepackaged, do this, do that, kind of thing..... eating veggies and fruits you actually feel lighter... my daughter had gastric bypass very recently and I think she regrets it. ..cont'd.. I do agree that raw foods still need to sustain the majority of our diet, but there is nothing wrong, and it is actually quiet necessary to implement cooked (not junk) food into our diets from time to time.
mikek241 2 years ago
Humans are the only living organism that eats cooked food! Interestingly enough they are also the only ones that destroy their home and also they are a very sick species! 1.8 million years is not even a finger snap in the evolutionary time scale of this planet! We have not adapted to cooked food just because we like the way it tastes! I'm not saying cooked food is bad, it is just dead and I don't know how we are going to get life from death? I know many long term raw vegan in awesome health!
liferegenerator 2 years ago
All boils down to going back to Eden, word up brother... raw organic vegan.
MyOwnStickFigure 2 years ago
I think that if one wants to include meat/animal protein, they should do it in the most natural way possible,
Which would be raw and it would be things like insects, reptiles, rodents ect.
Isn't it funny that those things are considered disgusting in our culture?
How many times do you think our ancestors took on something the size of a boar or larger before they were mortally injured? Eating medium to large size animals is not natural, but that's just my opinion
Thanks for the videos Dan
MissMarie84 2 years ago
I agree cooked food is dead. We kill it again, LOL! Anyway, how about raw eggs, raw fish, raw meat we would of ate these. Dan what is your opinion about the health side to raw iron in meat, raw EPA/DHA fis oils in fish and iodine, and raw phosphatidylcholine (PC) in eggs. Like a raw Paleolithic diet.
Catherine8here 2 years ago
I'm just saying the time scale has been long enough to implement evolutionary changes in our physiology with cooked food -- despite the evolutionary time scale of the planet. I strongly believe that it isn't ideal to do anything to the extreme. Then again, everything is relative in the sense that w/e works for one person might not work for another if his beliefs are different. It's all good though like you said, I don't sweat it, I simply believe everything is good in moderation...
mikek241 2 years ago
The thing is, it's quite impossible to stay on a 100% raw vegan diet and remain healthy, long-term. Simply because we have been cooking with fire for the past 1.8 million years, and certain evolutionary changes have taken place to cause our bodies to assimilate nutrients better in that way. Changes we cannot reverse in a life time or half a life with 100% raw foods.
mikek241 2 years ago
what has made you think this? How about eating raw egg, raw fish, raw other foods as we did origionally? What specific cooked foods do you mean? You can get raw oatmeal for breakfast, raw salad for dinner? I do like steamed kale, okinawas steam for short periods of time, they do well? What do U do?

sharing the love and healing.
MyOwnStickFigure 2 years ago
How can you be sure your body wants raw foods like just veg/fruit. The eskimos could not manage of just this, they would have to go so high on nuts/seeds to keep warm, dan eats more N & S in winter. Fat is an insulator and protector of organs. The brain is 70% fats. Each cell is 50% saturated fat. Why are fruits, nuts/seeds not available all year around? They are only seasonal. some people listen to there body and it says icecream? I say, look at nature... mainly fish, meat, loads a green.
Catherine8here 2 years ago
Seasonal depending on location, things vary from season to season it's not like we go high and dry. Nature provides all God has granted us to survive. If you have additional questions please ask Him. Goodluck.
MyOwnStickFigure 2 years ago
Precisely God has given us everything we need to survive, and in my specific area I do not have... naturally lots of fruit all year round. Therefore I thought this would logically mean I am not suppost to go high on the fruit. Even in the tropics where they have lots of fruits, they still eat meat. Nature seems to have granted almost fatty meat, fish, in winter when it is snowy and all the greens are damaged via the snow.
Catherine8here 2 years ago
I understand. This is a common question many raw foodists get. As for me I go back to the soul begining before eskimos and wild cave men, lol. I go back to the Garden of EDEN where every seed bearing plant, fruits and herbs were made and biologically intended to be consumed and utilized. Where animals were friends not feasts, before sin started. I do not wish to debate here. I am responding because you left me comments. I wish you love, happiness and good health dear. Hugs!
MyOwnStickFigure 2 years ago
Thanks for responding, your such a nice person, I watched your channel months ago. Your origional, and I am very bulimic (overweight) and your thin. I thought zinc helped increase appetite. I wish you all the love, luck, peace and happiness in the world! Hugs! xxxxxxxxxx
Catherine8here 2 years ago
I think that raw foods is best, absolutely, although the Okinawas gently cooking food... removes goitrogens from kale, so we can have more and not get goiter. They eat raw egg, raw fish, often. In autumn nature offers fruits, then nuts and thru winter, but then alot of year nature offers veg, meat/fish? Why if we are 'suppost' to eat just veg/fruit. Why? Someone tell me why nature is like this if we suppost to follows Dans master plan. Dan is Gr8 by the way.
Catherine8here 2 years ago
Well for me i still personally eat raw fish, eggs, and meat, but not alot. But the thing is that u dont actually really need to eat it. You can still get your protein and healthy fats and other nutrients from even better sources like vegetables, fruits, nuts, etc. Its just that now days most commercial meats are filled with hormones, steroids, chemicals, etc. Fish would actually be a really healthy food source but sadly their starting to find mercury and toxic contamination in our fish supplies.
jukijunk 2 years ago

I can do this.
upyourkarma 2 years ago
Yes! You can do this! :)
64Lease 2 years ago
If I may butt - in, oatmeal, being cooked, is acid forming (the opposite of alkalizing) and will slow down your progress. A great source of "filling up" and cleansing fiber is just good ol' apples. eat an apple an hour before your meal, and you will be pleasantly satisfied.
frustratedoperator 2 years ago
How about people with gatric esophageal reflux problems, fruit tends to encourage the acid build up, especially lemons/oranges. How about the seasonal aspects to such as diet. Like in my area their is no lemons/oranges, only berries seasonally, and in the winter natually the ice decreases the green vegetables leaving fatty meat/fish mainly. What if I were an eskimo how would I manage on just fruit and veg. It seems a gr8 idea fruit and veg, but it doesn't make perfect physiological sense.
Catherine8here 2 years ago
These so called surgeries are a big failure for the most part. I have seen so many people just gain back all the weight.
Then if you had the gastric and you end up back where you started you still have to take meds for the rest of your life.
Dan keep promoting the healthy alternative.
I lost close to 100 pounds over the past 3 years just by changing to a vegan high raw diet.

Catherine, try mushrooms they fill you up big time
fastmarty68 2 years ago
I tried mushroom... ate 500g. I am a bulimic so I can really eat. I spend my times trying to figure out what to do. I blame insulin resistance, acid stomach which comes on with fatty food (stopped!) fruit (stopped!) and I get a huge appetite on nuts. Then vegetables is Ok, but carrots, tomatos make me binge. I wish you lots of luck, sending you love! There is alot around this channel!
Catherine8here 2 years ago
When I just ate and juiced fruit and vegetables I got sooo hungry. I ended up having a nut binge (I was nuts enuff, LOL!). My hunger settles on a high protein diet and veg. But this is creating acidosis. I WANT TO GO ON VEG FRUIT. I have come from 26 1/2 stone on protein and veg. I just get so hungry every 2-3 hrs it is impossible! But it sounds good and Dan U look gr8. What should I do? Has anyone been in this state. How do I curb my appetite on a high veg/fruit diet?
Catherine8here 2 years ago
Cath, you probably have leptin resistance also known as metabolic syndrome and you need to break that cycle. I was hungry all the time, and then I went raw and slowly my appetite normalized and I lost weight all the while anyway. Just keep at it.
imnotabear 2 years ago
Catherine8here 2 years ago
Cath, I don't do anything special I still eat a lot of fruits even though I'm trying to reduce them - i seem to be a "mixed" metabolic type. I have a green smoothie (about 1.5 L) mixed veg juice (about 1-1.5 L) and a greens/avocado salad as my base. For lunch I have a big salad when I can, sometimes snack on fruit or pine nuts. I lost 20kgs quickly am at 80kgs now, the last 1-2 kgs is taking forever. Has been about 6 months I guess. Just enjoying the health benefits regardless of weight loss
imnotabear 2 years ago
If you watch Dan, he eats A LOT! And that's ok. When I have a juice/fruits/veg day, I eat as much as my body wants. Also, in transitioning, your body will trick you. It will tell you its hungry just because your old patterns may have not taught you what really being full and really being hungry felt like. I never knew what it meant to be satisfied and I used to eat because I thought I was still hungry, but in reality I was just eating out of old habits. You have to train your brain as well :)
genghisgirl 2 years ago 4
If you're hungry on fruits & veg, eat more fruits & veg.
KaitlynAliano 2 years ago 7
Catherine8here 2 years ago
I used to get more hungry just eating a lot of fruits and a few veggies. Everything changed when I changed and started eating 90 % of my diet as raw kale, spinach, romain, and dulse, and only 10% fruit.....Fill up on bowls of greens, and put on them some avocados, raw apple cider vinegar, sea salt, herbs, onion, maybe some olive oil............fill up on big salads, and within two weeks you will only want to eat greens, and be addicted to them! Spinach is high in protein.
