It's definitely him - I've noticed that his voice sounds different when he was in his earlier days than now. It definitely matured.

@ktesuarez tabithas secret was the band rob was in before MB20. and they made good songs then also, i think rob and paul is both from tabitha, perhaps a 3rd from tabitha is also in MB20 at start

Yes they were it and yes we did have a BLAST! Not a day goes by that I don't miss the times we shared at the ranch. Of the few things I thank God for, one of them is the time I spent with these guys, their significant others, and the music that they made. This disc will go to my grave with me.

i wonder what would have happend to them if they would have stayed together this album YOSLY and madseason or amazing after that they are very over produced not very bad but when i first heard matchbox tewnty i thought they were going to be one of the biggest bands ever they are still good just not as good as they were.

The old members released this album after they were abandoned by Rob Thomas. The title is in fact a dig aimed at Rob. He left his old band in the dust, but I guess it turned out to be the right decision for him.

How ironic that the Album is titled 'Don't Play with Matches' when a couple years later "Matchbox" 20/Twenty were born! It was a sign! It's definitely meant to be. What beautiful musicians.

Ummmm...listen, this was a SONG that the guys played together as Tabitha's Secret. More like a little dig atchya from John to Rob, and the boys when they took off and created Matchbox Twenty. Just know that even back in the day in Orlando in the early 90's, these guys were IT!! We had great times with them and we all knew they'd take off like they did. Does anyone know whatever happened to Shock Lizard (Orlando)?? They were awesome too!
