The reason Bruce Lee didn't get the lead in this show was cos he was "yellow" and racism was prevalent in america at the time. (not that it isn't present todaY). But too bad. The fighting in this really sucks. As someone who's practised Kung Fu I can say: It is truly a travesty. The story is good, but most of the actors in this really can't fight. If Bruce Lee had been in it, the fighting wud've rocked.

Bruce Lee sucked as an actor. Besides, the fighting in martial arts movies in themost unrealistic of all. If you want to know how I can prove it, watch martial arts experts in ultimate fighting matches and NONE of that posing and stiff striking choreography takes place, it turns into a wrestling match. You might as well watch Dancing With the Stars.

And as we can see from the many anti-Bruce posts on this clip racism is still alive in the U.S. today. I love KUNG FU and David Carradine was was superb as Caine. However, for people, most of them young punks who didn't grow up in and know nothing about the 70's, to say that David was better suited to the role than Bruce is ignorant. Bruce was a great artist. The show was purely his idea and he had it ripped away from him because he was "too Chinese to play a Chinese". These are facts!

How does saying that bruce was not good for this role become racism? you know its actually people like you who prevent progress. your too worried about over-compensating for past wrongs to move forward and this is a fact. It wasnt racism on behalf of th producers, but perhaps the attitude of the US at the time that woudnt of followed a show with a chinese lead character. I hope I cleared your ignorance about the USA and our people, but I doubt it.

Bruce's english was a problem as well. Pronunciation and intonation are kind of important to an actor. I don't think racism had anything to do with it
