why are people talking about trolls lol, is this something to do with dutch people? lol, crazy dutch bastards with their shit sense of humour. Ofcourse he only speaks dutch because his mother is dutch, if you think i am lying why dont you come to England and walk into a hotel or a pub or a shop and try to speak dutch with them and see how far you get. Why would we learn your funny little language when our language is the best in the world, although, chinese will probably become more powerful.
@mty1 Mate I'm English and what thou is sprouting here is absolute drivel. If thou realised just how close Dutch is to English even coming down to the use of 'thou' and 'thee' in the 2nd tense just like dutch ' gij' and 'u', then perhaps us Englishman would be better at been world beaters instead of bleating about Johnny Foreigner taking our jobs or complaining people cannot speak proper English, considering that as Englishmen, we do not even speak'proper' English no more.
@Robotnik I don't really care what you think of my opinion, most foreigners including Dutch people think that they speak English very well, and the truth is they do not. The End!
@mty1 Well they might not but they usually do a better job than us. As I said, when we start speaking proper English again then perhaps thine argument will stand up.
@Robotnik Mate, that's absolutely not correct, the English archaic pronouns 'thou' and 'thee' are related to the Dutch archaic pronouns 'du' and 'dee', neither of which are in use any more. 'gij/jij' is related to 'ye' and 'jou' to 'you'. 'Thou' was actually informal and 'you' was formal, Thou fell out of use because people were just extremely formal, same thing happened with Dutch, for plural we use 'jullie' which basically literally means 'you guys'.
@mty1 Do you lot speak any foreign language at all, and do you lot have any respect for foreigners? Clearly not. At least we learn foreign languages. I speak Dutch, English, German and a little bit French, and you're whining about Dutch people with terrible accents? The old people never learned English and simply improvise since German was more important in theirs youths. Mainly old people visit England due to it's weather. Low educated people have problems with it too. Pathetic little man.
You ought to write "I speak a little bit of English", because i can see from what you have written you do not speak it properly. You have made a lot of mistakes there Dutchman. The tense usage is catastrophic. I am not willing to correct you because you have not paid me. All Dutch people make a hash of our tenses. Ask anyone who is not Dutch. Dutch is by far the ugliest language most would answer. Bye, good luck with improving your command of English loser.
@mty1 Then at least I speak "a little bit of English". Do you speak "a little bit" of a foreign language? Spanish or Chinese for example? You know what it's like to learn a language after you've reached the age of 12? I don't care if our language sounds ugly or not. Language is merely a tool to communicate. Besides it's the language of my ancestors.
@mty1 Oh really? Let me guess, you know the words 'oui and non' and 'merci'. Chapeau! I understand you don't speak with an English accent when you speak French. It would be quite foolish to correct other people if you can't speak a foreign language properly yourself.
@mty1 You may think it's an ugly tongue to listen to, but I've heard that to some foreigners (like the French) spoken English sounds kind of like Dutch... of course English doesn't have the guttural Gs, but the tone whereat it's spoken is very similar. It is also an indisputable fact that Dutch is the most closely related Modern Foreign Language to English.
If you hadn't had such a rod up your backside you may have been able to understand what I said.
"Dutch is the most closely related Modern Foreign Language to English." I didn't say: "English is the most closely related Modern Foreign Language to Dutch".
That's according to University College London anyway - have you a better source?
@VendeeD85 Well, depends on how you look at it, horizonally, it's definitely Frissian. English and Frissian are both part of the Anglo-Frissian subgroup of Saxon languages, Dutch is of the Low-Saxon subgroup which also includes Luxemburgish, German is High-Saxon.
Danish is far less related to either Dutch or English than they are to each other or to German.
Dunno his/her source but mine is logic. Supposing Dutch is the closest to English, as you said... well how close in absolute terms? how close in relative terms is the 2nd closest one? If 100 meters is the standard and the three closest magnitudes are, say, 17, 18 and 19 respectively, why insisting in being the closest one? why not saying that the Dutch is the closest language to German at a percentage way greater than that between Dutch and English?
Dutch is such a stupid and ugly language, the reason why we didn't vote for Clegg as PM is because he speaks this awful language and his mother is Dutch haha
@Gyroglle Don't try to use big words that you don't understand, i will say whatever i wish, i speak the truth, and it is what all English people think. This man did not learn Dutch because he wanted to, he learnt because his mother is Dutch, he had no choice haha
@mty1 So you, as an individual, are 100% sure that you share your opinion with all of England's people? You make me laugh. Please do go on providing this amusement to our community that is Youtube.
@Gyroglle Good man (or woman)! That mty1 guy is starting to sound like he belongs in that damn EDL (may it rot in hell). The only reason *I* wouldn't vote for a person is if I didn't agree with their policies. After all the Lib Dems did increase their share of the vote (even if the did lose seats) so obviously he's wrong but I doubt he'd ever admit to it. :)
i wish there was a pm who can speak a foreign language and be intergrated with europe, because us english seem to not care about anything other than english.

@RsGhost1 His Mum's Dutch but he grew up in the UK, so that would make sense. I speak German and experience a similar thing - my pronunciation is perfekt but my grammar has faults and you can tell I haven't lived there for a while...
Trying to teach myself Dutch, by the way! I can sort of read it, but not speak/write it.
Time for change and well overdue, we have an unfair and almost corrupt system of politics here. It does get our prospective PMs out on the street thought. I'm voting for the Liberal Democrats.
