Thank you for putting this video up. I have my own rendition of David singing this song that I taped a long time ago when he was singing at the Greene street restaurant. I met him when my singing group appeared at the Lime Light. After hearing him sing this song I got him to come and sing at the Apollo. I want to state for the record that David Peaston never lost to any one at the Apollo, he won Super Dog and got 6 standing ovations while singing God Bless The Child to beat us out. R.I.P.
R&B/gospel singer David Peaston has passed. He was 54.I got a chance to meet David at the Apollo,he was a gentle giant, with a voice of an angel.I will always remember David.May god continue to bless his family and friends, and may David rejoice in the kingdom of heaven.R.I.P.
I would love to have him perform for my w year anniversary in October. How can I contact him? He is and has always been my favorite male performer since the 80s. I love that man!!!
His God Bless the Child live at the Apollo is-was-and will be the finest version of the song ever performed-time will prove one of the finest voices ever.-good posting
How in the world does someone turn a simple song like this into a clasic event. What a gift he is...even with his shirt unbuttoned at the bottom, the brother can blow.
So effortless...David was the best male vocalist to come along in 30 years. Period...

I really miss this guy. One of the best voices in the business. Sounds like a trombone at times.
