  • Don't even need to use char koay teow or laksa to promote penang, just the teh tarik also best in Malaysia!

  • I agree with wanderinggoose...Penang is my favorite place to eat in SE Asia....although didn't go to Vietnam..so I can't compare those two.

  • Eating out on Penang is more than just satisfying a need it is a sport or pastime on Penang.

Trying to find a good night out however is not so easy to a non-Penangite or visitor.

  • Next time you come again, drop me a line....I take you around the island trying the best food in Malaysia.

There are many places where the food taste much much more better than the tourists spots that you went.

  • It will be a long time before I return back to Penang for my food food food food food ...... I need to make a list of the dishes/cakes that I need to sample, otherwise I may miss some yummy food.

Epic proportion ... and epic portions please. I am missing Malaysian food badly. Starving right now!

  • Penangites call refers rojak as passembor, rojak the the fuits mixing..

  • @Vampire1988 laksa in penang refers to assam laksa, laksa elsewhere is called curry mee in penang

hokkien mee in penang is prawn noodle soup (hae mee)

hokkien mee elsewhere is hokkien char (fried hokkien style) in penang

lotsa confusion for a non local

  • the chendol is superb, been having it thr since i ws 11, dad took me thr up untill 2day we still enjoy tht....yes char koay teow is our, not singaporean

    With greetings from Iran

  • @disndat11 did you like it? are there persian or indian restaurants there? expensive?

  • @3rdStoneObliterum Lots of Indian restaurants (mainly Southern Indian/Tamil, but Northern Indian also widely available) - after all, close to 20% of Penanmg's population are Indians. Haven't seen Persian restaurants, but Middle-Eastern restaurants (e.g. Lebanese) are available in the Batu Feringghi beach area.

  • Ok, here is a better comment. In a couple of days I'm flying to Malaysia and Penang is one of our destinations. This is my 3rd visit to MY and I love the place and people and FOOD!!! A live with local people there and see places Tour groups never see. Can't wait. As for idiot racists, every culture has minuses and pluses. I'm of European origin, but adore Asians and love them. If you do the same, they will be very nice to you too.Let's see the good in each other and not the bad.(Go Ipoh Laksa!)

  • Why the fuck is there racial comments here now ? there used to be good comments here and now it is just some idiots arguing here. There used to be good comments about the food here. I blame jackburton2009 for causing these fucked arguments.

  • used to live there for three years.

    hits the spot uhhh.

  • just google "ancient chinese invention", jackburton2009.

many of today's technologies are inspired by chinese inventions.

while whites were still living in the dark-age, chinese already discovered gun powder and writing on paper.

united state would not exist today if columbus did not rely on compass which originally invented by the cihnese ages ago.

  • and what would your justification be for saying that?

    have you ever been there?

have you ever tasted penang food?

don't say shit like that, just cos you're ignorant.

  • jackburton you are an ignorant bastard

I hate assholes like you, they just look at the food and think eugh and only eat burgers and chips

try the food before saying its horrible asshole

and I bet theres a lot more shit in the fat burgers you have everyday than in this food so go fuck yourself fatty

  • lmao you retard im English -.-

Also you are a racist fuck there is cow shit in those fucking burgers you eat meanwhile you pretend they eat animal penis

  • You're even dumber than I thought and a hypocrite. You're some clueless anime, video game nerd.

  • also asshole if you hate asians so much where do you think your computer was made?

If the whole of China decided to send there whole army on your shitty country then you would be wiped out in seconds

and I'm surprised they dont with racist assholes like you about

  • ha i like how you say "you people" as if im asian you retarded racist confederate bastard

  • Comment removed

  • noone likes you jack, racist people like you don't deserve to live, if you are so racist why are you watching this video?

  • Comment removed

  • China bought billions of US-dollar to save your United States. China exchanged their RMB to US-dollar that's why the value of China money wont grow. If the value of RMB grow, mostly the poor citizens in China will suffer and in the other hand if China don't buy Us-dollar, the economy in US will become worst. Please watch the coming 2009 National Day in China. You might realized what have changed.

  • You're pretty stupid.

China's economy wouldn't exist without America's. Likewise, America's economy wouldn't exist without the cheap goods from China.

    Idiot.

  • omg everyone jackburton is worlds worst racist,

he is subscribed to and favourites bnp videos

  • Ice Kacang is nothing..... CHAR KOAY TEOW *is* THE undisputable dish of Penang.

  • totally agree....

  • @st3p4wrd What about Assam Laksa?

  • @st3p4wrd OMG! CHAR KOAY TEOW? Is that Fried Noodle? It sound exactly like Cambodian. O.o

  • rojak = row-jack 0:56

ice kacang = ice kechong! 2:24

    LOL

  • u totally point out the obvious.

    kickass what so ever.

  • I miss Penang, miss my home! once a penangite, forever a penangite! I'm going back home soon, very soon...CKT, Hokkien Mee, Laksa and others are waiting for me..lolx

  • My family and I went there for the first time last November- just a few weeks ago my dad suggested that we all just leave Kajang and move to Penang!

  • I miss my home..... and i also miss what's cooking! I can't wait to get back to Penang and gain some serious weight! =D

  • i ve been to penang several times . i never noticed the food was this great

  • Huh? You 've been eating in the hotels or tourist trap places then. Penang food from local stalls or the local restaurants is my favourite food in SE Asia. Next time try to get a local Penangite to guide you! Promise you won't regret.

  • next time u drop by penang or butterworth, give me a call, i'll guide u :-)

  • I love penang so much, when i was young , my grand pa will bring us to penang every friday. The purpose is for food. We enjoys the the ferry ride, the bridge, the batu ferrighi beach.

The king of the penang food still the cha kuey tiao, assam laksa, hokkien mee and lor bak. Even that penang durian is the best type in the world.

  • You got many choices other than cha kuey tiao, laksa, hokkein mee, lor bak. You can try babanyonya food, thai food too. By the way penang also a famous place to cure cancel! Some guys in penang give away mediction for free and they never accept anything or telling you to do anything.

  • Food look very tasty!

I wonder about the sanitary aspect of eating in the street where open food are exposed to dirt, pollutants, germs, and no refrigeration from the humid and hot enviroment.

Have travelers ever get sick from eating street food?

  • who cares,it all goes out the same end...

just joking, scout out for the most cleanest.there many clinics in malaysia so dont worry.live life the fullest.

  • Yeah its true , thats why you probably need a reliable guide cause there are just some local foods that tourists cannot stomach

  • Penang is a food paradise as so Malaysia! Can't wait to taste

Rojak/Chao Kue Tiao/Ais "Kachong" again lol!

  • I love Penang!

  • ais kacang :-)

  • iced kachang or kachong ..the contridiction.

  • Wow. They certainly are different from American Cuisine...huh/

  • those shakes with their meals looked the best, were those iced fruit smoothie shakes???

  • i from penang, yea the ice kacang doesn't have kiwi lar.. haha, not kiwi

  • Penang is a must visit if you plan to tour Malaysia.Loads of historical and places to visit and the mixed culture and the food is simply the best of its kind.

  • black pepper souce!!!

  • it looks so good

  • awesome food video...check out my food videos

  • Ohhh.... i think i know the most places! im from penang!

but i dont think that was kiwi... there is no kiwi in rojak

  • I found it surprising that i never saw the host taste any of the dishes that he mentioned. And in the beginning when he took a bite, it was kiwi/fruits on a stick...you went to Penag for kiwi?

  • Nah , rojak doesn't have kiwi.the one you saw is fruit rojak,it has jambu and honey

  • Been there, I ate the awesomest pineapples, yummy.... Didn't like the ice-corn-beans thing though.

  • As this video shows, the best places to visit in Malaysia are always the smaller cities and villages. Kuala Lumpur is fine, if all you want to do is visit shopping malls.

  • Interesting video

  • I've been to Malaysia, but not Penang. Think I'll have to go there the next time! Yummy!:)

  • OMG.....I LOVE PENANG....totally awesome food!!!! Can't wait till i go back there
