this guys will go down in history for sure.everytime i listen to a u2 songs just takes me back to a moment.thing no other artist have done, well maybe just a hand full.
what is it with U2 over the last 10 years or so? actually, since PopMart tour...
i dunno, they're just not the same. maybe it's me. i don't get 'that feeling' watching U2 live anymore. maybe it's that they're more of a BRAND than a BAND now. oh well, too bad.
I still get 'that feeling' myself and I've seen their concerts going back to the 80s. The shows I saw on the 3rd leg of Vertigo at the end of 2005 were incredible. There was one in Miami I'd rank as #1 of any concert I've ever seen. Even in this performance they stand out. If you watch most of the musical acts that appear on Letterman they're about as exciting as dishwater. You can see by the reaction of Dave what they bring to the show even with a relatively unknown song like this.
absolute amazing performance..those irish bastards never disappoint...and i dunno why everyone is hating on letterman, i guess cuz i grew up on him im a little bias, but i think he's the shit.
This ignorant jealous Canadian would like to offer your parents $150 to buy their house. Just so you understand Meathead, that's $10 for every year Letterman has not been funny. I'll even kick in an extra $20 for the next two years.
And before you ask Meathead, the answer is no. You cannot stay in the basement.
Letterman's show is lousey. Craig Ferguson is much funnier as is Conan O'Brien. If you could read, you'd see that I noted that Letterman hasn't been funny in 15 years. By the way, ignorant jealous Canadians should mind their own business when it comes to politics.
I've heard a few critic's say that the album has no big live anthems on it.... What!!! this and breathe are outstanding, the best live songs for a long while! in my opinion! simply outstanding.
It's too bad that I have to sit through the horrid Letterman show but it is all worth it once the greatest band on the planet come out. The live performances are awesome. The songs sound better live. That's what music is all about!!!
My point is you're a fucking idiot. Only a fucking IDIOT would fault the greatest band of all time going on a popular late night show every night for a week.
The point I made in the first place was that the Letterman show is a good one and it was in response to MEATHEAD calling Letterman's show horrid. However, no arguing with your sound logic.
Ironic that an imbecile who calls himself twochordcool is one of U2's biggest fans.
I'm late to the game. What's the problem with calling this show "horrid?" Letterman is a leftist piece of crap that stopped being funny 15 years ago. The last good skit he did was the clip of Paul Shaefer eating corn flakes.
Calling the Letterman show "horrid" is a bit over the top. Calling an ENTERTAINER a piece of crap because of his/her political affiliation is lame. Calling you a piece of crap for wasting my time with your ignorant post is more appropriate.
Btw genius, didn't Bono publically support your "leftist" president in the last election?

I dont find letterman all that funny either... but when it comes to conducting interviews, I still think he stands above the other late night hosts.
Nobody turns awkward into funny like letterman, just watch his interview with joaquin phoenix.
As for the video, I love U2 but I'm not a big fan of this song. I wish they would play "Exit" live but I understand why they don't

"horrid Letterman show...greatest band on the planet"???
Wrong on both counts MEATHEAD
dchuk 3 years ago
Which current rock band on the face of the planet has a better resume to claim that title if it's not U2 I wonder?
hanjungondolin 3 years ago
Hmmm...
Is Davey Jones still with The Monkees?

Just curious MEATHEAD...
Why would the greatest band on the planet choose to perform, for an entire week no less, on a horrid show?
