  • why does gear wire always have crap reviews even if the reviewer works with the manufacturer

  • That metal distortion really sucked

  • hi, is it possible for the M13 to use lets say a distortion pedal and then an overdrive at the same time?

  • @chemfolks Yes, you can use 4 at a time if you want.

  • @chemfolks Yes you can use a distortion and an overdrive at the same time but just be aware that that's a lot of drive and it'll get pretty loud

  • Can u dial your effects to a BPM? We play to metronome and i need to be able to lock into the BPM tempo (i.e. 120.00)

  • The M13 35% Off now!

    w w w . cheapbuy-online . com / line6-m13

the price lower than the manufacturer’s suggested retail price

  • Can these effects be tweakable? and also can it get a Rush sound?

  • You can spot out where he has no idea what he's talking about SO often, hah.

  • @Despised0515 lol brain farts!! :D

  • @Equestional More like he had to read a description page a thousand times over before doing this demo XD

    Poor guy. Decent demo anyways!

  • @Despised0515 Honestly, he just sounds kinda stoned. Haha. It is a good demo.

  • Does it have flange?

  • I was actually thinking of buying this hype box, (too good to be true) i have heard many complain about power up issues, screens going blank ??????? notice at 2:38 he turns off the delay but you can still hear it?? then looks puzzled for a sec

hmm well i will just keep searching maybe a nova?

  • can you control the level, delay time, and other parameters or is it just set in? and can you change and save each scene and what it it contains

  • @posiedonpowertrio Yeah you can. You can do just about anything you can imagine. I bought one after lots of research, and it does more than I thought it would and the tone is great. They really could have sold this m13 for over 1000 dollars. The only downside is you have to do the 2.10 update yourself and it don't have the ubermetal. But Iv'e already compared mine to the real stomp boxes and A real tube drive and it really measures up in A big way.

  • im going to tell all of you right now, you have no clue what this thing can actually do until you try it out. when i found out about this, i looked up videos like crazy, and then i went and tried it out. after playing about half an hour on it, i realized that no video did this thing the credit it deserves. SO many possibilities, its disgusting.

  • Holy crap, that's awesome. It's an M9 times 2 plus some. Also that gray strat is so sexy.

  • Some nice response out of them single coil pick ups. Definitely are not Fender Strat pickups.

  • GOOD, A normal straight person. Who has a fair amount of knowledge on how a systeem works and should sound. This is way better then those reviews of guitar world, Wich are done by a dude that sucks cock. Makes me fucking sick to my stomach. Gearwire knows how to hire the right people.

  • hahahah. bennyvx08, this is a weird place to bring up homophobia out of no where. A little afraid of something are we...

  • Does this have chorus?

  • @P0Psyckle its under the modulation effects

  • little bit of delay, eh ? i wonder what's "too much delay" for this guy

  • I play heavy metal and sometimes need to change effect combinations on the fly. Like a distortion w/ delay and flanger to a more dry rythm sound or a clean sound with chorus and tremolo.

Which would you guys recommend? POD X3 Live or M13??

I think the M13 is great, but I don't know wich would serve me better. The M13, for it's great sounding and "ease-to-use" interface? Or the X3 Live, more programming, great FX and xpression pedal?

    Tnks dudes!

  • @flavioroloff you can buy an expression pedal for these as well. I like these better than the x3. I have an m13 that i use for some of he deays which are great and some of the chorus and rotary effect which are good. I use them in combination with a custom wah and jekyl and hyde. Ive got a world of stuff to play with. I give t 2 thumbs up for the price. the distortions arent that great, but you cant expect much with digital.

  • @colby021 Hey there. Just bought mine...but came with the 2008 firmware and had a problem with the knobs on the "model select" button =/

Returned it to the store and they said they'll be sending it to the importer to be fixed.

Played with it a little, tough. Really cool. The distortions are fine to me, it ain't like All Tube dist. but it will serve good.

Realized I'll have infinite options of FX combinations with it REALLY cool!

    Tnks!!

  • @flavioroloff you can update the firmware yourself if you have a midi interface for your computer

  • @flavioroloff in my opinion it all depends on whether you're using a good quality amp or not. if you have a good amp, I would recommend the M13. if not, go for the X3 because this emulates amps and will you definitely find a good amp emulation there and also features stompbox emulations if i'm not mistaken.. the m13 is strictly dedicated to emulating stompboxes and might be easier to setup..

but i would base my decision on the amp you have..

  • Yeah i have the M9 and it sounds fantastic. This is nothing more than a shit demo.

  • Well, the website says that you can have 48 scenes. Can anyone please clear this?

  • @udayvirgarg22 With the 2.0 firmware upgrade they added 4 additional folders. The 48 scenes they're talking about are the 12 scenes in 4 folders: 12*4 = 48. This means you can have 12 pedals in 12 scenes in 4 folders: 12*12*4 = 576 effects configurations. With a USB MIDI interface you can backup your scenes to a computer and basically have unlimited configurations (with some effort).

  • Why is he playing the entire demo in on the bridge pickup? I own the M13 and a '74 strat with a Fender super reverb and it sounds a ton better than this guy. Mostly because the bridge pickup sounds too twangy.

If your thinking about buying one. DO IT! Invest in some of your own compressors and gain pedals over time and eventually just use it for effects. But even by itself this unit sounds beautiful.

  • Thats why you dont play strat. Humbuckers FTW..

  • This guy doesn't know his ass from his elbow. It's pretty hard to get this unit to sound bad- and he did it with ease.

  • @StaySafeTonight

hahahahahaha... Wow, this comment made my day... lol

  • Comment removed

  • Seriously the M13 sounds pristine and beautiful but this demo is really bad sounding.

  • hmmmm

  • Can I use these fx at the same time: tubescreamer, chorus, delay, reverb and compressor/sustainer?

  • you can have 4 fx at the same time, not 5 so....I suggest you take the reverb off and control the reverb with your amp (most amps do have a reverb-knob)

  • Hah! Why would you even model a metal zone? Sounds like a jar full of angry bees.

  • pantera?

  • @VicLabs haha

  • @VicLabs Surprisingly, the MT-2 model has less bees than the original.

  • @VicLabs Can sounds more like it than a jar. lol

  • is that a classic player 50s stratocaster?

  • hows this in comparison to the boss gt-10?

  • Noise Gate Is great for tube amps It is as quite as a dead person!

    Check My Vids Out

  • does anyone know if you can turn off the distortion/OD effects on this one? i won't be needing them for i own a JVM.

  • it's all stompbox, operable. you can turn on/off the OD effects just like turning on and off a stompbox. in fact, with your midi capable JVM, you should be able to change amp channels with the scenes.

simply program a scene that works with a particular channel, with or without OD to taste.

  • shit that sounds good. channel switching? awesome!

  • I hope you can do this. I want a midi enabled Hughes and Kettner and want to change channels with the Midi in Scene Mode.

I haven't had anyone confirm this, but I hope it is possible.

  • that lesile is crap

  • Yeah, it was. WTF was wrong with it?

  • sounds like poor miking or eq. the tone in the video is not balanced very well. Its not the pedal because it sounds better than that in real life.

  • Giving me bad GAS...oops ordered it...=D

Im really curious how it will sound on my peavey C30 and randall stack

  • Do any of you guys know how many times you have to click on the tap/tempo switch to set the speed of delays and other time based effects on this pedal?

Is it 2 taps, or 4 taps?

  • two

  • You'll get a more accurate tempo input if you hit it more than twice, as if you're playing hi-hats.

  • This seems pretty cool unlike other multieffects pedals.

  • anyone know if it has a noise gate..?

  • ..No Noise Gate into the M13

  • yes, it has a global noise gate

  • Wow! Sounds just like a Tube Screamer! I'm impressed with this BEAST of a board!

  • Its an excellent pedal, it has rekindled my interest in playing guitar, I'll soon have about a dozen effects pedals and rack unit on ebay soon, ITS THAT GOOD, Well done Line 6

  • I've had this for a few weeks now. It's a great pedal, really lives up to the hype. Some of the ODs/Distortions aren't exactly like the originals, some sound almost the same, some sound a little darker in tone, and one or two (specifically the Big Muff) are less noisy than the original. The reverbs, delays, phasers, and filters are all great and extremely useful. This is the best all in one unit on the market, period.

  • Thank u!

I needed to hear that from someone . It was usefull fact, Thank u :D

  • this thing is giving me GAS bad!!! ;P I have a really nice Boss GT-Pro (rack version of GT-8) but the programming is a nightmare with external MIDI shit. and trying to get unity gain with the 4 cable method... I end up not even using it because its such a hassle to program :(

  • Agreed, agreed, and agreed.

  • I've got the M13, it is exactly as easy as they claim, it's really, really amazing. the 12 scenes is pretty awesome too, I've programmed 2 so far that I use on different songs and it only took a short time to dial it in, works just like regular, simple stomp-boxes.

  • cool! I'm pretty much sold on it.. I just sold my GT-Pro but had to pay some bills.. as soon as I save up I'm getting the M13.. hopefully before the rebate ends! :D

  • I hear you man, I ebayed 3 pedals to buy this one, and only had to come up with a few extra bucks, it's a steal for the price, but still a bit of a price.

  • I have one these, its cool as fuck especially the reverbs. The distortions sound abit processed though.

  • I notice the "processed" sound on the distortions particularly when they're coupled with a delay, BUT, for what it is, it is great, and it's not nearly as processed sounding as anything else out there.

  • how come every time you hear a pedal, or amp demo, they always play the blues?

  • Because the kids just don't listen to Celtic Renaissance Baroque any more.

  • do u need a certain amp for this?

  • nope any amp should work

  • This thing is really versatile and would do well with a live rig for live shows, but I have found that digital effects are just that...digital. They sound very sterile and proccessed, especially at high volumes. Listen to this clip when they play the metal zone around 3:25. The clean effects are usually pretty good on digital, but the overdrives and distortions are pretty crap...but that's just my opinion. And opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one and they all stink.

  • Comment removed

  • Sooo I can use this as a controller for my other effects as well as saving presets rite???

  • no, you cant use it as a controller and it doesnt have any sort of preset mode

  • It would be perfect if it could change channels in my amp!

  • Aaaand one last thing!!! Make all the switches as individual pedals that would turn on or off ;)

  • Also a standard amp power chord, a cab modeler with dry/ wet mixing capabilities, an XLR out, boost switch, a relay switch for amp channel switching and a HF filter to choose either grinding distortions or creamy ones :) aaand if you wanna throw in tubes with capability to mix in between tube mode to digital mode, and ability to switch off the tubes for long life would be AWESOME!!!!!

  • but apart from missing those, it's fine as it is ;o)

  • K, this is what would make something like this perfect: 1.- An extra vertical row for types of reverb. 2.- A toogle switch to go from stomp box mode to banks mode, having three horizontal rows like this: row A: banks, row B: stomp on and off, row C: loop functions(with a switch that would do tap tempo and elastic tempo for the loops). 3.- individual ins and outs for each one of the five columns of effects. Any manufacturers willing to take this challenge??????

  • would you be able to have all of the pedals set to the DL4? because i was thinking about buying 2 DL4s which would be $500.00 but wouldn't I be able to get 4 DL4s for the same price if i bought this?

  • exactly!! plus, they fixed some bugs from those stompbox units when they made this, so...

i have had it for a month, and just love it! it's the ultimate device for the stompbox lover. and don't let what you read on forums about the drives discourage you, there are at least a handful of very good and useful od's dist.'s in the unit.

    the filter stuff....pointless IMHO

  • I know that you can have a loop function on the DL4, but would you have 4 loop stations on the M13 as well or is there only one loop station?

  • holy crap i freakin want this

but too bad theres so sort of expression pedal, or even just a volume/wah pedal

  • It has 2 ports on the back to add external expression pedals, so no worry there.

  • i see. i guess im a bit greedy wanting the expression pedal to be part of it. or maybe thats their plan...make us buy this first and later on make a better model with the expression pedal attached to it. smart on line 6's part lol

  • Actually Line 6 is giving a free expression pedal to those that buy this pedal board now. Check out their website for details. I'm stoked that I get a free expression pedal to add to my M13. BTW I love this pedal board. It's so much easier for me than the way my bandmates have to duct tape all their different pedals to their little cases. It's not a rip off at all. Get one and get a free expression pedal.

  • actually i hear the expression pedal sucks. and not just from a few people. on the musiciansfriend reviews, line 6 forums, and a lot of other places everyone says it sucks but they're not really complaining cuz its free. if anything i might get a volume-wah combo pedal or 2 separate volume and wah pedals for it.

  • i kind of like that they did that, lets me put the exp pedal where ever i want.

  • If you buy it before 10-31-08 at musiciansfriends. You'll get a free expression pedal by mail from line 6.

  • Gearwire, can you tell us what amp was Dave using? cheers.

  • this unit absolutely rocks. i have a modded ibanez tube screamer and this is pretty damn close. plus you get a TON of other pedals. amazing The edge sound.

  • man, THE BEST immitation of a tubescreamer i have ever heard. this m13 seems awesome! wondering if i should sell my pedalboard of analogs and get it...

  • Neat FX Unit - Kind of Pricey for Me, but Definitely on My WishList for the Future. Thanks for the Demo Overview. "SWEET"
