Dude I need some help!

My bootloader broke(I didn't flash it or anything just put some music on and took it out, turned it off the next day and then my phone wouldn't load up)

It's stuck on the samsung screen and won't come off, can't even turn it off with out removing battery.

SOOO! I got told I have to flash it, the problem being is I have no Idea how to remove sim lock because I can't actually get in to the phone to put the unlock code in...

Hey, I have a samsung wave s8500 and am upgrading to JL2 1.2 using multiloader.... i have s8500DTJF2 - 1.0 at the moment and wanting to dual boot android, but my boot loader is not the one of the ones in the list,,,, i was told i needed a XXJL2 boot loader....iv got the full firmware but am unsure of which file is the boot file, and i dont want to corrupt the boot :(

@HMundane i just upgraded my WAVE 8500 firware to BUKD1 it upgraded the first try itself, everything works fine... now there's another firmware available for BU region, it is the BUKE1, I tried finding the files using multi loader but there are 2 files missing namely the BOOT and the Factory FS now should I go ahead with the flash even with these two files missing???

Got a little scared once i'd flashed my Wave II back to JL2 to allow Wavespoofer to work because I was getting a message saying "No SIM Found" however it was just me being silly and putting it in the wrong way :D

At the end of loading all files are OK but on the phone's display apeears that "NO FOTA ENGINE IS INSTALLED, PLEASE INSTALL FOTA ENGINE" so I have to reflash , maybe add FOTA there in the Downloader. Maybe is because I use diferent firmware country than before, I wait and see..... Ok after cecking FOTA and partial download works great!!

I have unlocked Orange(France) Wave. OS version is bada 1.0 (S8500BVJK1). Samsung Kies says no firmware update us available for my region(Asia).

Questions are:

1. If I upgrade it to 1.2 flashing with S8500XXJL2 will it still remain unlocked?

This video was very helpful. :) Although i had to flash my wave about 10+ time, but in the end it went perfect. I think that amount of flashing had something to do with my pc and not the guide. I sorted out the issue.I forgot to put the FOTA file and that's why I had the error message.So before flashing check if you put all the necessary files in multiloader especially FOTA as it is the last one and you might forget to add it. .After adding BADA 1.2 the phone is faster .

You have to downgrade/upgrade to a firmware that includes boot files. If you get a problem with a firmware, just try an another one, i flashed my phone 4 times with different firmware and my phone is faster and batter then ever, worth the hard work and a nearly heart attack

hi, I have a problem. My phone was unlocked and now I have middle east fw (jpjg2_kor). I doesn't bother me but I can't use samsung apps and any other app that I download from Kies (I tried install it as I'm from middle east and as I'm from Croatia which I am). So naturally I think only flashing will solve my problem but I can't upgrade via Kies. How can I solve my problem with apps? I'm afraid when 1.2 version comes out I couldn't upgrade either. Should I try manual flash with european fw?

@samtron1950 I think this can be fixed in Kies rather than flashing new fw. Look in the forums for how to change the product code in Kies.

@samtron1950 Your phone will not change, but Kies will think it has different country code so you will be able to use the app store.

I used store till now but applications didn't start when I install them (screen would come short and then back to main menu or unsupported file type when I copied them to phone). Will this different country code also mean that I could update firmware trough Kies? Arab fw I presume? And switching to european fw is only possible trough flashing?

@samtron1950 This app problem happens with some apps (but not lots obviously). You can only change your fw by flashing. If you live in Europe then I suggest XXJID. Again, best thing to do is check some of the threads on forum - lots of info which can't be written in this small box!

@danylara27 You want to replace the operator branded fw, right? If there are no locks then you can flash the XXJID which is European fw and will have French settings and language.

@cblancoandujar It flashes the whole bootloader of your phone. If it goes wrong, your phone is dead. I don't think it is necessary, i explain in the vid. You must do your research and decide the best way.

If you installed the apps through Kies, they will all be on your hard drive (My Documents > Samsung > Kies > Download > Applications) and you can reinstall them. If you downloaded direct from app store, they are available through the app store menu (downloads) and you should be able to reinstall again without paying. (You should test this first to be sure)
