99% of those players don't even play BW anymore. 3:01 wow July looked so young lol. And stadiums back then were WAAAAYYY more full than they are these days. The games pretty much dead today...every1 switched to SC2. The last part with the archons was amazing!

This was when there wasn't all the pressure from sponsorship and all that stuff... Progammers actually weren't afraid to do these kind of play, though SC gamming style has changed a lot from 2005 to nowadays, it's optimized to a macro oriented play... You still can watch some gosu micro from time to time.

PS: This video is the best by far of all SC highlight videos out there.

Somebody needs to explain to me how this game is competitive.

Start with 4 units, move each to all corners of the map, build a few dozen units and send to fight, winner = rock, paper, scissors.

I've not played this game but it looks interesting.

Competitiveness comes from peoples abilities to efficiently micromanage around, and use their units correctly. Take for instance the High Templar, he has no base-attack, and can only cast abilities. Most people don't bother to use him just because he can't attack, yet he can be one of the most powerful units in the game. The Psi Storm he is able to cast can decimate legions of units within seconds, shown in the video where the lightning storms are over the tanks.

2 types of resources, minerals and gas. For Terran "SCV"s return resources to their Command Center. For Protoss "Probe"s return to their Nexus. for Zerg "Drone"s return to their Hatcery.

resources are part of the terrain and you have to go mine them and return to ur primary building, then with those resources you build units and build other structures that allow you to build stronger units. strategy wise, there are many special abilities of both units and structures, for all three units, which makes starcraft one of the best RTS
