i loved pigeon street as a kid, the truck driver was if i remember correctly was long distance clara, i think the chef was pongo and there was an astromanmer called reg who had a dog, it's amazing what things you remember

I loved this show - odd considering I am now terrified of birds! Long Distance Clara has always been a hero of mine; in fact I named my dog after her.

they are always using this in the background of eastenders, this and be-witched, i.e ive seen a good few clips of deano watching this and lucy beale watching be-witched

I've noticed this too, PCJoejoe. Bearing in mind that in our own world Pigeon Street hasn't been on for years, either the characters are watching a rented copy of the long deleted VHS videocassette released by BBC Video, or this show is enjoying constant terrestrial re-runs on the parallel Earth where EastEnders is set (which I personally refer to as Earth-E20).

If the answer is the former, it's a wonder the aforementioned tape hasn't completely worn out by now... :-)

yup... when deano was in eastenders there was a scene... him all depressed and you heard the themetune... then around a month or so later deano again on the sofa and a VERY brief glimpse of the opening titles to pigeon street... and remember the beales watching ''bewitched'' in the living room a few months ago ... weird but nostalgic!.. I Last remember bewitched on ch4 in the late 90's ch4 i think but yes your right - spot on -maybe the beeb are tring to say pigeon street''out on dvd go buy''!.
