  • I do think you may be mistaken. Modern coach builders put the rexine over an alloy skin to stop it being punctured or more resistant to damage. I have worked on a number of these cars that are totally original and I can assure you there is not an alloy skin behind the rexine. In fact I have a flexible saloon body in my workshop as we speak without any alloy panels.

  • wow! wish i had one of those. thumbs up!

  • I watched some photos of the Bentley Blower and I would like to know the bodywork of the Blowers were made of fibers or metal? Thanks!!

  • @Enzo20061234

    They were made of aluminum

Bentley supplied a chassis and engine/gearbox etc. the owner would choose which body builder would supply the body. Bodies made from ash frame with Rexine (cloth) covering. the bonnet would be aluminium, the wings steel.

I am aware of that, there are a couple of coachbuilders such as Vanden Plas and Mulliner etc. But there is still aluminum behind the the ash and the rexine.

In fact the 4.5 litre is not as heavy a car as one might think, they are surprisingly light and agily :)
