we've been following the series since i've seen it on tv....hopefully it isn't true..i even have to check every vids downloaded here in youtube since it is still in season 1 that is being shown here in the philippines...i hope and pray that season 3 will push through...LOVE THEM ALL!!!

No one has to be pregnant for the maternity spell... it works by binding the two persons together (in the books NIcci and Kahlan) just like a mother and child.

It is a maternity spell. It has nothing to do with Kahlan being pregnant. They never really give a reason why it is called a maternity spell. I guess the explanation is that Kahlan and Nicci are connect by a cord of magical power. That which happens to one of them happens to the other.

no....in torn, she thought she was, but it wasn;t actually kahlan it was only half OF her. And in this, nicci puts a maternity spell on her, because it is like the magic she weilds is the womb for kahlan, if nicci dies, so does kahlan. this episode is based on Faith of the Fallen. AWESOME BOOK!

@RichardKaylan Yes, I loved Faith of the Fallen, and this episode, Bound, was an excellent depiction of my favorite plotline in it! The backstory is different, but the interaction between Richard and Nicci is mostly true to the book. :-) Probably the LOTS episode from both seasons I've enjoyed most!

@jadesmitt the maternity spell had nothing to do with khalan being pregnant in thebook: it's called maternity spell because the bound between khalan and nicci is like mother/child...besides she had already lose her baby when nicci put the spell on her. Anyway i'm soooo excited for next week too ;)

Honestly, now nicci is putttin a maternity spell on kahlen, that doesn't happen until 6th book, and this season is meant 2 be based on the 2nd bk. They did the same thing wid caska, anyways, next episode looks amazing, can't wait 2 watch it
