  • Where can I get this on DVD?

  • I saw this on Turner Classic Movies recently and loved it. I really think Shirley Temple could have been a great teen actress if they had let her.

  • Comment removed

  • Beautiful little girl, beautiful young woman, beautiful old lady.

  • is that even her voice? jw

  • Who is that singing the high notes for her?

  • I'm watching it now..well Im typing now but now Im watching it..after this..and let me say this: its is cool to see Shirley in this adult role

  • Shirley is beautiful :D

  • I have it on Tape >:DDDDDDD WAHAHAHAAA

  • @tracker415 Omg, in grade six I tried to tape it but ended up taping a parliament meeting by mistake. I wanted to cry. ;_;

    How is it , btw?

  • @Iantheparty Its.....AWSOME I LOVE IT i'm in 7th BTW

  • @Iantheparty its pretty good. this tape was taped in the early 90s so the commercials are annoying. But all good! YOU CAN WATCH IT ON TURNER MVIE CLASSICS CHANNEL ON SHIRLEYS BIRTHDAY

  • she is soo adorable when she grew up and even when she was little!!!!!! i wish she was still here filming!!!!

  • This is the first time I see her grown up. She´s beautiful :)

  • at this point she was box office poison

  • Is there any way to see this movie? I love Shirley Temple movies!!

  • Splendid.

  • The life according to wiki says that this did terrible at the box office. Is this true?

  • @MissAlainey1991 Yup, it did terribly. The war had just started and Shirley was a has-been at this point. People just weren't interested.

  • @Iantheparty That's shocking that shirley temple wasnt an interest. When I was little shirley temple had always been a big part of my life :(

  • @MissAlainey1991 She wasn't a has been. David Selznick gave her contract and she continued to work in many fine films thereafter, up until she married and decide to concentrate on her children/family.

  • @MissAlainey1991 According to Temple's autobiography, it actually did quite well. It was the #2 most popular movie of 1941. Not sure how it stacked up against her other movies, though.

  • she's so beautiful... argh!

  • I can't find the movie anywhere!

  • @tracker415 And likely, you wont. The movie has never been released on DVD or VHS. The only chance of seeing it is on TV. Every once in a blue moon, some one will sell a copy of the movie they taped of TCM.

  • @tracker415 Watching it right now on Turner movie classics channel

  • wow she has a great voice

  • I was named after this movie. My father saw Kathleen when he was stationed in the Army during WWII. I was born with curly brown hair and dimples like a grown up Shirley. Thank God. Saved me from a life of "Debbie" like Reynolds. Gag! I would like to see the whole movie too.

  • @Preslopsky18 If you have the Turner Classic Movie channel they say they will be airing Kathleen on Apr 23 at 8:30AM. Check your local listings.

  • Pleaseeeeeee post the whole film somebody...

  • @Phalces I have it on CD and i would totally post it but i dont know how :(

  • @tracker415 Do you mean DVD? If it's on DVD just save the video file on to your computer and upload it on YouTube.

  • i love the part when shirly sings :]

  • the singing she does reminds me of her voice in Snow White :D i dont know how old she was when she voiced that though

  • @TaylortheTuckerGirl As far as I know and have found in looking just now, Shirley didn't voice Snow White unless it was a version I don't know about. Adriana Caselotti is the voice of Snow White in the Disney movie.

  • oh sry, i was mistaken. she had originally been chosen for the vocal part, but similar to the wizard of oz situation, they just thought she couldn't handle it vocally. after all, she was only around 9 or 10, i believe. then they wanted her to do just the regular voice, but she declined.

  • @TaylortheTuckerGirl no worries, but that's fun to know, I always enjoy the behind the scenes trivia. I bet she would have done well with it, but probably Snow White was meant to be teenage so it seems like a reasonable choice.

  • @TaylortheTuckerGirl She wasn't the voice of Snow White. Adriana Caselottie was the voice.

  • I have never seen this before, and I've watched ALL oh get movies!

    Hope it's on DVD!

  • Kathleen isn't a terrible movie, and it may have been moderately successful had it not premiered the week after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Filming dates for this film are listed from August to September of 1941 when Shirley was 13 (the world thought she was still 12).

  • Can someone please upload the movie!?!? im dying to watch it!!!

  • to the infos: it IS shirleys voice! i read her autobiography, where she mentioned that it was difficult but she did it herself.

    great shirley!

  • her agent made her change the date on her birth certificate to 1929 when she was 4, making her appear to be 3 years old. she looked younger, and younger talent was more popular back then. when now, people would prefer to have an older, more experienced child play a younger one.

  • how old was she here?

  • She was 15 if I'm not wrong she was born in 1926

  • but they told for many years that she was born in 1928 and on many sites and film forums You will faind the date 1928 hmmm well when she go to her first big movie casting they nead 4 year old child and she was 5 or 6 than but menager told that she is great but they have to change her birth date and her mother agree well It's hard to say what date is real true but it could be 1926, 1927 or 1928 so she was 15, 14 or 13. Hmmmm I writte 15 before but I thought that I should writte more about this.

  • Actually, they said she was born in 1929 (they said that to make her seem younger.) but she was really born in 1928. She would of been 14 here.

  • @Iantheparty it all depends on how long it took the movie to move from production to release... she could have aged at least a year by then.

  • She was born in 1928 because she is 81 today.

  • Date of Birth is April of 1928. If this was made in 1941 she would have been 13.

  • We can't be sure I think

  • She was born in 1928

  • Man, these old trailers don't tell you anything about what the movies about.

  • Makes you seem like you've been decieved or rickrolled when you find out that it wasn't as good as you expected.

  • kinda like today when you see a movie trailer, you see thats it goin to be a funny movie, then when you watch the movie all the "funny parts" in the movie were all the ones in the trailer! ha ha ha ironic
