Howdy! They have echolink for Android phones now. I was hunting for a NASA node.. I found WA3NAN, which at least use to re-broadcast NASA all over, even HF.
Hi Steve.. the audio is taken from the echolink network. I have an echolink link station close by here. You need to be a ham to access the system, unless a local ham might rebroadcast so you can listen in. If you have good inet access, nasa tv gives you much the same thing with video.
Normally broadcasting on Ham Radio is illegal, but they do have a few exceptions, that I am aware of anyway, as I used to be a Ham from 1986 to 2000 when I decided to quit being a Ham.
The exceptions are:
Broadcasting transmissions of Space Shuttle missions
Broadcasting Amateur Radio news reports, like one called, "Amateur Radio Newsline" for example
Broadcasting CW transmissions for the purpose of learning Morse Code.
re-transmitting echo link so those like K6TPL and myself who have problems with firewalls or wireless routers that block echo link can still hear whats going on. I like watchin NASA tv feeding live from the ISS. Take care and 73 from North of England. Simon
I am indeed impressed! Very good video! I've yet to get my dumb computer to allow me to use echo link! So am stuck with the radio only! Yet that CQ100 program works great! Good QSO 73 Jer
Good morning/evening Jerry and thanks for the comment... always pleasing to see your feedback. Nice analogy with the dog.. (god). hear you on the weekend maybe?

Fantastic video. I have nerver seen this before, that somebody is listening to NASA Spacecrafts.
I have a Icom radio too and they are very good comunication recievers with a incredible performance.
May I ask what band NASA operating on to the spacecrafts and what kind of frequence? I don't think his is a good qestion...

Hi Ian
Thank you so much for the information. =)
Now I have to start listening to NASA too. I have an Icom IC-R5 a small and neat radio reciever "scanner". A little bit similar to yours. =)
Best regards:

Those are what I can think of right now.
