  • PARADE!!!

  • maestro

  • Ce gars est un génie...

  • Hi Marty...

We are glad you are posting. My fanned fret Bashkin guitar was built for altered tunings, and it can go to CGCGCD with normal strings without causing a stir or losing intonation. I also have an Olson and love it to pieces.

  • Bloody hell, that was ridiculous!

    Well done!

  • Nice music!

  • Fabulous job! That was really great!

  • You are amazing! I just found a new favourite song + A new hero!

  • I ACTUALLY BOUGHT 2 SONGS FROM YOUR WEBSITE :)

  • fuck this shit is AWESOME!!!

  • do you use light gauge strings to tune up that high?

  • i'm a bona-fide hillbilly straight outta the mountains of east tennessee. i've heard a helluva lot of blue grass pickers in my time, but that was the best performance i think i've ever seen/heard. fan-f@ckin'-tastic!!!

  • yo brother you should try a rhythm ring .. you will love it!

  • oh man...that was so sweet that you made me cry! shit..

  • blown ..floored ..amazed ..tranked ,,zoned ..spaced ..cool ....lol peace man

  • I would rather be able to do that than have all the money in the world and a Hot Tub full of soapy Cheerleaders.

  • that was amazing

  • shit, gotta learn that;)

  • You are a great guitarist! You nailed everything!, even the pop ballads. You are extremely accomplished. I like your own compositions too!, very beautiful.

  • Yeeehaw ! Very impressive playin'

  • How can someone not like this???

  • how long you been playing?

  • Sweet job man, were just wondering about the tuning is possible to get this fast runs down with standard tning?

  • @raffefrank Thanks! Oh sure, just listen to some bluegrass flat pickers or electric country guitar pickin´ - I do some of this stuff in standard tuning. Check out Dueling Banjos for example, it´s among the related videos to the right.

    Cheers

    Martin

  • Don't think it sounds good that fast. :-\

  • The only reason 1 person would "dislike" this is a lack of appreciation for different genres of music. People need to embrace music as a whole, not just the parts that tickle their ear, but also the parts that they don't fancy. When a person learns to appreciate even the music they don't like, then they can apply it to the music they do enjoy and become "A Musician"... Dear MTV Artist, please read this.

  • That is a nice looking guitar played well

  • Master, Master...... I love it

  • I love it - inspiring me to learn some proper guitar technique

  • What Tuning is this piece played in?

  • You kick ass man.. WOW!

  • OMG OMG UNBELIEVEABLE YOU ARE A MASTER!

  • Hi Martin! This one sounds really great, it really suits my musical ear! :)

I thought about learning this one myself, but fail to find the TAB on your site.

Are you able to reupload it to the Free TAB-section?

Mange takk, og de beste hilsener fra Norge!

  • @Jeggis89

    I'm sorry, I just realized it's available as a purchaseable Tab. :)

  • W O W we need more vids like this you are So great player

also if you make tutorial for this style Bravo

  • man i love this piece and you do an awesome job on it!!

  • Do you play the banjo as well as guitar?

  • your playing reminds me alot of tommy emmanuel, you have alot of talent :) suprised your not more well known! your song writing is amazing too.

  • why do you have a soundtrack playing in all of you videos?

  • @spoofus007

    Not all videos :)

Well, I like to use backing tracks, it sounds so much cooler, and it´s the way I envision the completed song... Especially the "banjo on guitar" stuff works much better with a rhythm track.

    Cheers

    Martin

  • @pinofluvius It would be wonderful to hear with no background as well. :)

  • @spoofus007

i kinda like the backing tracks being there. gives an idea of a full band arrangement. theyre really tastefully done IMO.

  • man, this just puts a smile on my face every time I hear it... You are amazing, and a great inspiration! THANK YOU!

  • I've watched quite a few of your music videos and am awestruck over your skillful playing. God bless you for sharing your talents with others.

  • i didn't know Sweded had "hillbilly pickers".......very nice, sounds great.

  • That's my favourite bluegrass tune on my favourite instrument done like I never heard it done before. You sir are my guitar hero!!

Did you do that one in standard tuning?

  • Great stuff man.

  • You have become one of my favorite geetar players. I'm so glad I stumbled on your tube-post. I love your arrangements and the Bluegrass on steroids.

  • @PocoPortillo Thank you, glad you like it!

  • dude it looks like he has steel strings on a classical guitar wait....thats confusing it sounds like an acoustic but it has classical pegs..??

  • @MrJulianm777

Hi, the slotted headstock was very common in older steel-string guitars, and newer ones made in the old style, like the one I´m playing here.

  • Great playing! Cheezy faces...

  • Sounds great! Have you always used a thumbpick? I tried a few & couldn't get a smooth upstroke when strumming. There was a lot of resistance & thumbpicks would hook on the strings & my hand would move out of position, or the flew off. I pretty much just use thumb & fingers to strum now. I haven't used a pick of any sort in years. Take care.

  • @wenglish1968

    Thanks!

No, I used to play picking without one and then hybrid style with regular pick and fingers. But, since I had also played some classical, I thought it was silly not to use my index finger for picking, so I started with a thumbpick. However, nowadays I file them shorter, they always seem to be too long! That makes some stuff easier, like strumming and flatpicking with it.

    Cheers

    Martin

  • Martin your skill never ceases to amaze me....you are an inspiration..

    Thank you,

    Michael

  • Beyond Awesome.

I am not just jealous... I'm bitter - LOL

    Jet.

  • I LOVE IT.

    That was amazing.

    RESPECT.

  • Damn

  • Man....this guy is up there with Roy Clark, Chet, Jose.....amazing, watching all day. Wish I could play like this.

  • This is insane, seriously... I hope I can play like that one day.... watched clip 4 times in a row... can't get enough of it...

  • Wow! thats great! is there any form to buy the tab besides your page?, I would really like to play this but I dont have a credit card

  • capo on the 3rd fret....incredible!

  • Martin this must of taking you endless hours to work out, its really making my head hurt, i'm trying to play, any suggestions to working out a peice like this???? like Tommy always says GET TO WORK... i am" but its not helping!

  • Hi, this is like a mix of many years of different styles of playing, like country picking with open string licks, some 5-string banjo, folky fingerpicking and also: open E and G are the open tunings I have used the most.

So, with all that put together, the most difficult thing was to nail this at a 160 bpm, ha ha..!

I guess this information was however not so helpful to you, sorry :)

But to borrow or "steal" from any style of music and playing is always a good start, learn as much as you can!

  • Om Tommy Emmanuel får titeln

    KING OF ACCOUSTIC BOOGIE GUITAR

    så ger jag dig titeln

    KING OF ACCOUSTIC BLUEGRASS GUITAR

Jag ska naturligtvis försöka ta över den titeln,

frågan är bara om jag lyckas.

    Hälsningar från Peter i Uppsala.

  • Well done! .... from a banjo picker!

  • Martin you ain't got a brain, if ya did it wouldn't let those fingers work like that!!!!!

  • Phenomenal skill and plenty of musicality to boot.

    Sweet.

  • Any chance of you coming to Australia to play??

  • I don't know how many times i came across this piece....but everytime it reminds me why i stuck to steel-string.

  • Very nicely done. You could probably play with the studio bluegrass guys in Nashville.

  • awesome mixing~

  • Great.... 6 stars !

  • I really really enjoyed this - I used to play this fingerstyle too but this is much more in the Jerry Reed style. Echoes of Roger Hardin's "Jerry's Breakdown" too - it has a similar feel. Great playing. When I want to learn a tune played on Youtube it has got to be good and this is.

  • Sugoi! from Japan

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!

    5 STARS

  • Wow, that was incredible picking there Martin.

    Martin

  • i love this guitar, what is body?

  • Hi, it´s a small-bodied guitar known as a parlour guitar, I think...

It still has a big sound with very long sustain.

  • but it still sounds like your anthoer acoudtic guitar i mean the tone character

  • Sjukt bra!

    MVH/ Martin

  • Howdy Martin!

Bland det jävligaste jag sett! ...och då menar jag det positivt! :)

    Snyggt ljud...kör du med Röde-mick?

    //Krille

  • Howdy Krille!

Tack, tack - jag passade på att smida medan järnet var varmt så att säga, var väl inspirerad av Usain Bolt (nja, det här var innan, men ändå:)

    Jodå, Röde-micken är det.

    Hälsn Martin

  • Tjena, Martin! Det där var övergrymt! :-) Inget snack om saken! Du fortsätter att imponera! Stort tack!
